Everyone gathered round him as the others arrived and summoned their keys. As the gathered round he felt there power and he felt the connection Sora and the others had to Kazen and for a brief second he saw Xigbar's face and the darkness. He blinked and held his sarrow and angry back but maybe Vanitas was having some problems of his own now. "Everyone this is where we create our new destiny. We are atempting something that no other keybearers have done. We are going to create not one but four hearts for our new worlds." Raslan's avatar moved over to Merric and smiled at the others. "Raslan is say her good bye for a while and she would like you all to know that she will hold the heartless at bay as long as she can." Raslan waved but never spoke. Then she did something Merric wasn't expecting. She tunred her form to light and pulled a peice of Merric's heart out and the last thing he heard before she disappeared was ""The last peice."" and she was gone. A single tear went from his cheek as his heart was reformed and set right. "Alright everyone lets not let her down. I need Yen-sid and Merlin to put up a barrier of light. Axel I need you oppisite me and on my mark use your flames and shoot it at the center of the watery orb. All keybearers form a circle around it but Master Eraqus I need you at the very bottom center. Namine I need you to go with Cid and keep an eye on things." Everyone nodded and got to their positions. "On three fire you key laser at the orb. One, two, three!!" Axel and Merric fired first into the orb super heating it with light and 'dark' fire. Then the keybearers fired filling the orb with light. Master Eraqus knew what he had to do. He thrust his keyblade into the air and a light sparked in a circle. A sphere started from the bottom of the orb and then up the side closing at the top. At that moment they all heard a tremendos roar outside the stadium. Merric knew them that it had worked....the heartless were coming. The size of the heart skrunk until it was on the tip of Master Eraqus' keyblade. The Heart then flew over to Merric and into him. "One down and three to go."
The bullets and rockets went flying as soon as the roar sounded. The battle raged on until the last heart was created and the sheilds couldn't be held any longer. The heartless ignored everyone except Merric. They form one gaint darkside and as it was about to slam its hand down Merric summoned his keyblade. The oblivion changed just like the Darkstar did. The holy fire wrapped around the keyblade turning the gem emerald green and the rest bright white. Its name screamed at him. Retribution. White flame erupted destroying the darkside and the heartless left in the area. Merric fell to the ground and the peice of his heart Raslan had given him he push it back out and let in sink into her. It was hers now his heart was whole and he knew she needed the power more than him. The other rushed to him as he blacked out. The last thing he remebered was Tesla trying to charge Merric up but with four hearts plus his own he needed the rest and it would give Cid and Raslan the time to get the rings built he knew it wouldn't take long.

-----The World That Never Was----
Braig led Xakzen to the Castle that Never Was and took him to the room known as 'Where Nothing Gathers'. "The boss needs to see ya." he said to the young man as he brought him along, he'd already given the boy his black cloak and now he would be ready to join the others. When they entered the room Braig disappeared and soon reappeared in one of the tall seats, many of which were still empty. But in the highest seat sat Master Xehanort. Around him sat Isa, Ansem Seeker of Darkness, Xemnas, Young Xehanort, and Braig, though Xakzen didn't know these men he would soon enough.
Xemnas looked on him and grinned. "Braig, you've done well. He's just as I thought he'd be." he said with a grin, looking to his subordinate.
Xakzen looked up at these men, confused and yet seeing as they knew his name he wasn't sure what to think. "Why am I....why am I here?" he asked as he looked around the room. The strange cloaked figures all seemed to be staring at him.
"You're gonna be part of our little group. Ya see we need a certain number here. You're in good hands kiddo, no need to worry there." said Braig with a grin, looking up to Master Xehanort.
Xemnas disappeared from his chair and was suddenly right next to Xakzen. "Join us, and we'll give you what it is that you want. You have been chosen to wear this coat. That is an honor that you shouldn't take lightly. Especially in these trying times, you'll face powerful foes in the name of our group. But, in order to obtain or ultimate goal we'll need your help as well as the help of others." he explained as he looked over the young man. "You possess something that we cannot yet acquire. A Keyblade."
"A...Key...Blade?" as he said the words an image flashed in his head; a young man in blue and black clothing wielding a large key appeared in the back of his mind. A moment later a faint glimmer appeared along his right hand and suddenly in a flash of bright light his weapon appeared! Xakzen held the Kingdom Key in his hand. "This...is a Keyblade?" he asked as he looked up to Xemnas and the others. He caught Master Xehanort's stare and saw a noticeable grin spread across his face as he tapped his fingers idly on the arm of the tall chair he was siting in.
"Yes. That is your weapon. You will use it to strike down your enemies, and to defend this group and it's numbers. We are you allies, and we are your salvation." said Xemnas as he raised his arms above his head in the dramatic manor in which he expressed the emotions he lacked. "Together we shall change the world!"
Seig ran to Merric's side and looked down at him. "So...he's got the hearts inside him, now how on earth are we gonna get them out when the time comes?" he asked, scratching his head as he looked to the others. "Though, it is surprising that this went off as easily as it did....even with the heartless attack and all. Honestly I was expecting something more....challenging." he said as he looked to Lario and then approached his friend. "I think we've all earned a bit of rest..." he tried to keep a positive mind set. He was still feeling a bit guilty for the loss of Kazen, but he felt the need to step up and try to fill both his own shoes and his friend's. "Merric needs rest. Let's see about getting the rings built hmm? We need to try and move this plan into action before our situation gets any worse."

Try and keep up.
Lario nodded "The others are a bit shaken and Axel is missing. Master Eraqus is ralling everyone together. Cid says that there isn't much most of us can do in the process of building the rings. So Yen-sid and Merlin suggest details guarding Merric until he wakes."
Cid walked over chewing on a toothpick yelling orders to his crew telling them to salvage what was left of the stadium and take it back to The Hanger for repurposing. "Well boys it seems we have a comatose hero on our hands. Merlin is going to teleport him along with you two onto the Highwind so we can head back." He snorted and spit on the ground. "The rest of the town is in uproar even in the dead of night but Shin-Ra is doing their part thanks you Reeve on a cover, not that they don't know about heartless, but they don't need to know what we have been doin so the excuse is the stadium had a short and finally blew due to build up in the pumps and oxidizing coils." He knew the boys didn't know what he was talking about but he was told to tell everyone just in case. He walked off when one of his crew asked a question and Cid went away yelling.
Merric's dreams were seren and he felt at peace Raslan and four others were sitting in the sand watching the waves. "You know guys I didn't think that this would work but I guess the power that Raslan gave me was the small bit of the creator that was left in me." He smiled as she grinned he knew she had been saving it for something the four others were just kinda half there but they chuckled and smiled with Raslan. One of them was a girl with dark black hair that he guessed was was the avatar for Avalon she was more there than the rest but he laid back and rested in the sand falling asleep falling deeper into his recovering rest.

Seig nodded and went to join the others. "What do you mean Axel is missing? Where could he have gone?" he asked as he looked to the others. "We'll have to find him at some point. But in the mean time we'll need to guard Merric and see what we can do until the time comes." he crossed his arms and thought for a few moments. With Merric out of commission, and Kazen still missing he figured he and Lario would have to begin calling the shots. "Lario we need to move. Let's finish this up and get everyone else on the ship. We've got work to do, and there's not much time to waste."
Xakzen was introduced to the other members of this group and he slowly became more comfortable with what was happening. They seemed to need his help, and he didn't know if he needed theirs yet or not but it seemed that he was in a better position now than when he was sitting in that town by himself. He had taken to roaming the city streets of The World That Never Was. The Heartless had began to attack him on a pretty regular basis but he was accustomed to fighting them already. Braig had taken him on a few scouting missions already and with the others he found an equal share of work that was involved. Though for the most part they just left him alone to do as he wished. So long as he came back to the castle.
Lario stood up and nodded. "Alright looks like we need to hold these people together." Lario stepped beside Merric and picked him up he then summoned his keyblade his eyes glowed and he summoned his chocobo glad in armour. He mounted the chocobo with Merric sitting in front of him. "I'm going to go ahead and get him outside the stadium with Merlin so we can get up to the ship. After that I'm coming back down to help scavange parts that Cid wants for the ring contruction." He then yelled out KEEEEWWHHH and the chocobo jumped ran through the stadium and jumped down to Merlin.
Merlin was joined by Yen-sid and Master Eraqus. "The boys are now asleep and so we must let them rest." He turned to the others. "We have work to do." An owl flew over and landed on his shoulder.
"Me..Me..Merlin th..th..the house was packed up and I..I..I came as soon as I could."
"Its all right Archmedies things are just going to be a bit different from now on and I need you here so you don't get caught in the coming events. I also need a favor of you. I need you to be human for a while and do some searching for me." the owl scoffed at the idea but when he saw the look on Merlin's face he realized that their going to be worse things than becoming human. So he nodded as Merlin transformed him but he still retained some of his Owl features
"You know I hate this but it seems you need my help." He turned taking the cloak he was given and took off into the air. Turning into the clouds he disappeared to keep and eye on his target.
----Time over five months----
Things were going well with the team as they built the rings. Cid discovered the plans for the rings in Merric's pocket and was surprised but he followed them to a T. Merric slept with no change to the outside world but in his dreams time was passing by much faster as he help the new hearts mature and learn tricks to help defend themselves. Kazen still hadn't been found and neither had Vanitas. Seig and Lario had taken their positions as leaders among the group. Cid began trading with the moggles permantly and they help with the rings which was more they the team could wish for. Right at the end of the ring completion Archmedies came back and reported to Merlin.
"Merlin there have been signs of both of them but everytime I get close they dissappeared."
Merlin hung his head. "Well then it seems that Kazen isn't himself but it also seems that Vanitas is having his fair share of problems as well." Merlin walked with Acrhmedies back into the hanger and into a small office where a moggle and Tesla was finishing the last ring.
Tesla looked up. "Merlin we just finished the last ring and we tested the expansion gummi and its working just as Merric's plans said it would. You know I wonder why he wanted them so small to begin with but Cid said" and Tesla did his best Cid voice "The boy wants it that way so we owe it too him." Tesla and Merlin laughed a small bit as the moggle took the last ring and placed it in a box. "Well hope he wakes up soon so we can get this show on the road." Tesla said as he took the box and walked with Merlin and the man he didn't know to the meeting room where everyone was gathering for the completion of the last ring. They reached the room and sat down waiting for Cid and Seig to come speak to the rest of everyone.
Cid walked in and cleared his throat. "Well everyone we have accomplished our goal and ummm well I hate givin speachs and what not so here is Seig." Cid stepped down an sat down in a chair waiting for Seig to get up and do the talking.

Vanitas continued to move about in the realm of darkness. He had managed to absorb a large portion of Kazen's power, but due to the inherent issue between the two he was unable to complete the process. His body had returned to normal, and he was still in full control of the X-blade even in it's somewhat restored form. But there was something holding him back. He couldn't figure out what it was, and he'd been doing some heartless hunting in the recent weeks. He wanted to track down the boy's heart. He needed to fully absorb it in order to reach his next transitional point. That, or he needed to locate one of the others that were tied to him. However, they had all been busy on that world of light. Raslan. None of them seemed to be leaving, and Master Xehanort would forbid him from traveling there. So he did his best to occupy himself in the long months to come.
Xakzen had been moving about the realm of light on his own as well. In the months since he had come into being he'd began to master his new powers and abilities quickly. Any doubts towards what it was this group had him doing were pushed to the back of his mind as he coordinated missions and hunted heartless. He had become quite the swordsman, and had began to master his own skills as he learned them. He was on teir with many of the others in their group, though Master Xehanort could still best him easily in battle. His dark powers had risen, and his command over light was coming along as well. In the coming months though, he was told things would get more difficult. His enemies had been moving, and worse yet they were fortifying their defenses.
----Five Months later----
Seig stepped up and took the spotlight from Cid so to speak. "Hello everyone. After such a long time of hard work, and sacrifices from all of us here we have finally reached our goal. The ring defense network is completely operational." Kazen took a remote from the pedestal and stepped off of the platform onto a smaller hovering one that brought him up above a large holo-deck where he activated a display. "The four ring arrays will be put in place within the next few days. We hope to have everything fully in place by the end of the week, and we can begin moving and transitioning citizens in the coming weeks after. As always everyone, be on your guard and keep up the good work. We're getting close to yet another transition and we all need to be prepared for that." he explained before he stepped off of the hovering platform and handed the remote off to Lario. "Your turn." he said with a grin as he went to join the other Keybearers in the back of the room. Sora and the others had taken Lario and himself in like family. They had all been living together and fighting together in the past months. Everyone had really come in to their own space. "Let's get this done. We've got a friend to track down." he said to himself. The fact that Kaz had been gone for these long months had bothered him deeply. There had been virtually no sign of him, and though Archimedies had located a similar energy signature on a few occasions the one who was giving the signature would vanish without a trace. Vanitas had been uncommonly quiet as well, there hadn't been a single attack since he'd vanished. "I don't know what's going on here...but we WILL get Kazen back. I WILL return him to his friends." Seig thought to himself as he leaned against a wall, chatting with the others but still thinking intently. The man who'd been spotted in several worlds by Archimedies had never shown his face, he'd wore what was described as a black hooded cloak. His weapons had never been seen either, and the full extent of his abilities had yet to be found out either. Whoever he was, he knew his enemies tactics well, and he was very well informed.
Merric walked up to Raslan and the others. "Well guys it has been fun but it seems my friends are ready to give your hearts bodies now and I know that you will all be fine. Also there are only going to be certain people who know about you guys so keep quite until I let ya know." The others nodded and got ready for the transition. "Raslan you want to help me wake up?" She smiled and nodded. She dissappeared and so did the scene and Merric was let alone in his own heart which he discovered was composed of both light and darkness in perfect harmony. "Well this is interesting." He said and then he felt a jolt of energy and woke up. He then leaned uo and saw Raslan smiling and she disppersed. He got up and walked over to a door where was everyone he wondered but then he heard Seig and the others talking down the hall. He looked at a calendar and and saw he was only out for about five months and narrowed his eyebrows and thought back he had been on that island for about three years or so he thought but Raslan probably gave him more time there so he could teach the others about the strength of their hearts. He shoke off the fatigue and walked close to the door and Aqua walked out.
She gasped and a tear dropped from he eye. She walked over to him and layed her head on his chest weeping slightly. "Some of us didn't think you were going to wake up..." She looked up at him and smiled again. "Come say hi to everyone they have missed you." She took his hand and dragged his into the room after Seig stopped speaking and gasps echoed in the room.

Xakzen stretched and laid back, relaxing on top of the Memory's Skyscraper as he stared at the sky. The young man placed his hands behind his head and enjoyed the view of the sky, he mentally dotted the world's he'd been to in his mand and a slight grin played across his face as he thought over his last assignment. He remembered seeing a man who'd been spying on him in the past. They were in Agrabah, and he'd been sent to take out a large Heartless. "He's been following me rather often." he said aloud. "Maybe next time I see him I'll snuff him out." with a malicious grin he sat up and hopped off of the tower, in his falling motion he shifted his direction and ran down the tower jumping from the illuminated sign and landing hard on the pavement below only to stroll away a moment later. He summoned his keyblade in a flash and destroyed the few Neoshadows that appeared around him.
Seig looked to the door's that Merric had stepped through and gave him a wave. He was happy to see his friend back on his feet. "Hey, Merric we were worried you'd gotten lazy on us!" he said in a playful tone as he approached his fellow ally. He offered him a high-five and beckoned the others over to where the freshly awoken Merric had entered the room. "Alright everyone, join the party. We've gotta give this man a nice welcome! We'll have to have a celebration after the new worlds have been completed." he said to his friend before walking away, off to finish up some of his additional assignments.
A large swirl of darkness appeared and after a moment or two a figure emerged from it. Wreathed in shadow, and smoking with dark energy the form stepped from the dark realm. The Anti-Kazen had taken form, bearing a Keybearer's heart wasn't exactly an easy task for any heartless. Kazen's heart had been lost to the darkness for several month's now, and in the darkness this beast had waited, gaining strength and building power until the time came when it was strong enough to puncture the veil of darkness into the world of light. It was driven by vague memory and pure instinct. The beast jumped into the air and slammed into the tiled courtyard, shattering the beautiful architecture and unleashing a barrage of heartless. Moments later the beast of a heartless vanished once again into the darkness, leaving the heartless behind to seek out hearts.
Merric smiled and high fived Seig back but his smile faded as Seig had said something about a party and him being the guest of honor. He hadn't told them that this would involve him being gone a little while longer after this was over. Merric shook it off and smiled at everyone again and soon the disppersed in different directions. He sat in one of the chairs and figured that they hadn't found Kazen and he had a feeling that they wouldn't atleast not yet. Merlin, Yen-sid, and Master Eraqus walked in and shut the door.
"Merric its good to see you and I hate to be there bearer of bad news but Kazen isn't Kazen anymore." Merlin waited for a reaction but one didn't come.
"I know..." He hung his head and Merlin and the others sat beside and across from him. "I felt it and I know who he is with." They all looked questioningly at Merric. "When the cornerstone changed me I felt everyone's heart and it zoned in on Kazen just as he lost his heart and I watch his body appear in Twilight town and Braig took him somewhere. Also I pretty sure that because his heart was that strong to produce a nobody and he is smart and cunning that there is a heartless out there to match.
"I am sorry Merric I know this is hard for you."
Merric stopped Yen-sid and looked him in the eyes. "I want you to understand that what I am about to do is going to be hard! I am about to release four hearts from my being and I will also loose my own. I couldn't let anyone else do it for me and no one else can because of the cornerstone's power." He sighed as they stared at him.
"You knew this whole time but didn't leave us any warning!" His angry showed but he was holding back.
"I needed you all focused on the rings and honestly they are done way before I expected them to be so it may not be to late for my second plan." He said almost shouting. Merlin nodded figuring Merric had it all figured out and left him alone about it. The others looked each other and sat in silence with Merric think about the next move.
Key of Convergence
Seig jumped up at the mention of Merric losing his heart as well. "No way Merric, we've already lost Kaz we're not gonna lose you too. We can get him back. There's gotta be another way..." he said as he clenched his fists and waved his hand dismissively at the idea of allowing another of their friends to disappear. He looked to Merlin and crossed his arms. "If you knew that he wasn't normal anymore then why didn't you try to bring him back?" he demanded. "I know you've had your owl spying on him, but from what we've seen and what Archemedies has reported back we don't know for sure if it IS Kaz." he told the others as he looked around the room. "We need you here. We'll have to plan this a little more carefully." he said to Merric as he stepped over to him.
----The World That Never Was----
Xakzen entered the room where Xemnas held his meetings. "Xemnas!" he demanded as he looked up to the highest chair, Master Xehanort had left him in command in his absence. "We've gathered the right number of comrades. We are thirteen in number again, so I want to know. Why haven't we made our move yet?" Xakzen was annoyed, their goal was to gain thirteen powerful beings and gather in darkness. They had reached that number some time ago, and with the Master away Xemnas hadn't been moving things along as quickly as everyone else had hoped.
Xemnas chuckled to himself and glared down at his subordinate. "Boy, you must understand that my orders come directly from the Master himself." he explained as he moved down from the chair he was sitting in, slowly descending through the air as he moved down to the large platform in the middle of the room. "We have our number, but not all of us are whole yet. You, myself and a few of the others have yet to reclaim their hearts." Xemnas told Xakzen as he placed a hand on his shoulder. "You'll see soon enough, just continue with your missions as planned."
He looked up at Xemnas and nodded, sighing a little. "...We've been waiting for so long though..." as he looked to the floor for a moment, gazing off into the distance, zoning out he heard Xemnas say something, something that caused a brief surge of memory inside him to awaken.
"...Can you feel, Sora?" after he said this Xemnas vanished. Only an echo chuckled in his wake as he left Xakzen standing there.
