I would suggest you read some of the fights to get a handle on how it works. The current tourney is based off T1 rules which will go well with your background as a writer as it is geared towards writing more so than other systems. Once that is done you should compose a character, my suggestion is to start at a base-line human and build up from there in terms of adding powers and abilities. If you can fight as a human the powers become easier to use since you are adding them to base moves.

Then submit an interest check requesting a training spar, establish the rules and the limits, and then work through the fight. Most people are willing to help those new to the arena learn the differences in a textual fight against another person vs. NPC's in a storybased RP.

There is a persistent world in the Arena, the Omniverse where the characters gorw and learn from fights, form friendships and alliances and work toward retrieving items and facing bosses to establish character growth.

It seems Guns are allowed.. Awesome I have a wonderful character that I'll spend hours upon. HAHAHAHAHA!

My name is Grievous Khan.

Some may know me some may not. I have been in the arena for some time now (about 6 months? Probably less), and have had a few matches. But I have never really learned text-style fighting persay. Most of my fights I basically winged it, and apparently that passes for being a competant fighter here.

Am looking for someone who will/can teach me the advance points of text-style combat. I know some of the basics, and understand T1 fairly well. I have never really gotten the chance to learn it however. Am mostly interested in learning how to completely describe melee combat to my opponent, as well as any other tips people are will to give.

What exactly are you looking for Blackblood223? What do you want to learn? Realistic human, moderately powered, powered? T1 or a hybrid style. Do you want to learn how to use weapons/hand to hand incorporating powers? It helps when you define what you are looking for so someone either can help you or can direct you to someone who can help you.

Hey, I'm new to the Arena, immediately after this post I'll brush up on the rules and what-have-you. I'd like a tutor for a character that is going to be fighting with his fists. He is very strong, very fast but cannot take hits well whatsoever. Any mentorship would be greatly appreciated.

LonelyWanderer, there are number of "trainers" and "training" going on, my advice is to read through them and contact the trainer who best fits your needs.
