Entry 1:
Today fucking sucked.

If you're still with me, you probably want more details than that. To start, I hate job hunting, and this particuar job-hunt has been going on too long. Trucking company, clerk at a blood bank, desk job at radio station, all no good. If I didn't need my cane to stay standing, I'd be hitting people with it by now. Which brings me to the next point. Something about the weather we've had the last few days is making my knee hurt worse than usual. For those of you still reading this, I brought back a half dozen little presents from Iraq, all of them embedded in my left leg. They're called shrapnel. That was a while ago, and I get by okay most of the time, but every once in a while, it hurts like hell.

The only upside of today was sitting with one of my buddies drinking Natty Ice. I know, cheap beer, but it gets you drunk. Drinking and discussing politics/philosophy/religion with Bulldog is getting to be a tradition.

Right, you're probably confused now. Bulldog is my buddy. We call him that because he kind of looks like one, and his last name sounds like it. In the military, everyone gets called by their last names, and it doesn't take long for people to get nicknames.

Anyways. We talked about philosophy today, and asked each other how you can define reality when you consider the fact that everything you perceive is just chemical and electrical signals in your brain. It probably says something about us that we talk about this kind of crap when we drink instead of talking about sports or something. Around the time we started working over "I think, therefore I am" and trying to decide if it was actually true, Bulldog had to go and keep an eye on his nephew. I don't do well with babies, so I split. This leaves me fairly buzzed, with no one to talk to other than my bitchy roommates. They've both been acting passive-aggressive all week, and I have no idea why. Naturally, if I call them out on it, I'm the badguy. Now I'm sitting here too pissed off and worn down to sleep, trying to make my brain shut up so I can get some peace.

Maybe tomorrow will be better.

Entry 2:

I saw the most awesome fucking thing ever, and I am here to share it with you. I'm afraid I'm going to have to insist that you hit people and make them read it. I felt a lot better when I read it.

Stop your fucking bawwing this instant. I am not here to comfort you, or help you cry. I am not here to listen to your story and say, there there, everything will be okay. So stop your fucking crying.

You want to know why I don't care about your sadness? Because you shouldn't be sad. And I know, this is serious shit, and it's important, and you don't know what you are going to do now. But at the end of the day, it is the same shit that all of us go through.

For the past month, I have been down and out. Over some broad that knows I love her, but doesn't love me. She thinks of my love only as being awkward. And she still wants me to be her best friend. On top of that, I am a failure in pretty much everything I do, and I have yet to do anything my parents can be proud of. But you know what?

I am fucking awesome.

Now, I will admit that I haven't held a dying man in my arms, or any of that serious shit, but it's all the same. People go through shit every day of their lives, and that is what life is. So grab a beer, pop a top, and toast that you are still alive. Give a toast to those who aren't. Those that died so you could be free. Gave their lives so you could hate yours.

You are fucking awesome. but you don't want to admit it. You go through shit day in and day out, and you live. You, are alive. The world cannot beat you. It cannot destroy you. There is no shame in defeat as long as the spirit is not conquered. So don't fucking give up. You are a good, decent person, who is in hard times. You deserve somebody. You deserve a hug. You deserve a kiss at night. You deserve a friend. Don't you ever fucking think differently.
