"Would you mind reversing the spell with whatever other magic you have?"

The ever casually sarcastic and almost patiently derisive sounding tone that he was used to brought Atelar back to some of his senses. Wh-what? Oh, oh! Yeah, uhh hold on," Atelar said, his voice stumbling, his mind stumbling over the words of power as he brought flames to the palms of his hands. "I got it, I got it," Atelar said, his own sarcasm seeping back into his voice, as it began to get back into a more normal rhythm.

Atelar noticed Kostvel gesturing towards someone behind him, and he quickly remembered the odd girl that seemed to appear out of nowhere, He quickly turned to prevent his back from facing her. "Uhm, uh, ah, yeah, this person, came out of nowhere, I dunno what she is." he said by way of explanation, implying that he had nothing to do with anything.

Atelar pressed both palms to the ice encasing Glith's armor and began to melt ice. Now that the adrenaline from battle had quickly left his body, Atelar began to remember one very pressing question, just where in hell were they? and better yet, how did they get out?

"So uh, I hope you have an idea on how to get us out of here," Atelar said, his nerves slipping a bit into his voice.

I can't tell if Myke is standing on something or did an amazing job of timing a jump. I'd like to imagine it was a jump
    Neither, he is floating
I'm pretty sure he's just that tall
No he was on a table
I don't know.. Have you seen how tall he is?

The suit broke free of the last few pieces of ice, checking for cracks in the armour. The only one that was noticeable was the recently inflicted one on the helmet, which didn't feel too comfortable. The hole where his right arm used to be now was covered with ice, forming a shield of some sort. Stepping onto the white ice Glith stepped up onto the cover. The ages of wearing the armour made sure that everywhere there were small cuts in the plating, forming very effective ice shoes.

Glith still firmly held Kaylee in his left hand as he walked towards their new visitor in a menacing manner. How menacing could a ogre-high collection of plates be? He stopped a few meters in front of the girl. She was most likely human, but that was no human magic he felt emanating. The helmet turned back towards Atelar and Kostvel, dragging the long and somehow still dry beard over his shoulder as Glith's face turned a full one-eighty:

"We have a slight problem, if you noticed." Glith nodded to the places where their other three comrades used to be, " I can only get us out of here if we make it past the front gates. But first, this one over here," the corpse spokeas it looked down into the ice hole where the girl stood. "Perhaps it's best if Kostvel speaks with her. Might be less frightening."

With these words Glith stepped back and walked to the nearest door, which happened to the the former source of their trouble. Popping his head out almost cost him as a rock hit the stone frame, shaking the entire wall. Glith could see a few dozen smaller enemies walking around on the walls of the keep, but there was something rather huge moving downstairs in the courtyard...right in front of the gates they needed to get out.

As he stepped back onto the ice, his feet began sinking into the white cover, melting the ice as fast as Glith wanted to. The power to act as a mobile furnace had other uses as he learned before.

"And Kostvel, do it fast. We have problems down there," was the last thing Glith said before stepping out and swinging his sword at the first skeleton.
Why have a life when you can make one?

She saw the strange party communicate with each other. She understood what they said. It seemed as if this one undead was on their side, by one reason or another. The girl plainly accepted that the magic she had attempted had failed utterly, by the degree of never happened at all, despite being in moonlight. It was rather… embarrassing. Why was nothing happening? The girl looked towards the gap where the moon was shining in with a somewhat annoyed expression where she was standing unsteadily on the slippery frozen floor she had somehow ended up on. She noticed blankly that the spot she had been on the moment the spell was cast had been spared, but not here. Like an arranged prison.

The large dead armor did a good call in to not come closer. He was, from the silver-haired girl’s point of view, rather menacing. She had just, in far too short a time, experienced being out-performed in magic to a lethal level and then having a feat of magic she was so accustomed to using prove to have no effect whatsoever on the world around her as if she did not know how to do it at all. If she had been approached by the dark shape that was this undead he would have suffered gravely from a lunar-empowered magical warning. If the girl had been able to cast one, that is. Maybe all her spells were being hampered, would not surprise her at this moment. Could it be… maybe was the wizard over there the cause of that Plight of Night had failed to be used? Or maybe was it this great dead beast? If so, then the party before her was of the most dangerous groups the girl had ever seen…

Upon sensing that last though, the scythe behind the girl would have chuckled had it not been for the fact it had no mouth…

As his name had been called twice now, once by every other conscious member of the group, the girl was aware which one was Kostvel. It was that somewhat young brown-haired man in armor over there who had just taken off his helmet. Huh? Two young men and an ancient skeleton? What was this group? What kind of deeds were one supposed to expect from these? Most people who’d imagine experienced adventurers would think at least were past thirty. Could it be that these people were in fact not very experienced? How were they so powerful? Had they dabbled in forbidden lore or something? This… was pretty large. What are they doing here anyway?

As these questions filled her head, she became largely aware she could not move from her unsteady position. As thankful as she was that they used a common language, if these people were as powerful as they now appeared then the girl might be in an undesirable position. She could use her scythe to steady herself and move with that, but showing that she’s armed would be something only to do after trust is gained. As well, use of any spell could increase tension at this moment, and…

… If seen from the point of view of anyone else, then the girl by thinking too much would appear to simply be standing there, doing nothing.

Kostvel stood dumbly watching as Atelar freed Glith from his ice encasement, using some magically conjured fire. Realizing that he himself was still stuck amongst some of the ice he worked his boots back and froth. After a few seconds after cracking the few tendrils holding his feet down he precariously stepped up onto the frozen sheen of water covering the floor. As his boots weren't studded, he didn't have the best grip but it wasn't to bad. Most likely he wouldn't be preforming any sprinting anytime soon. Looking back up at where Glith and Atelar were standing. His draw almost dropped when he saw Glith perform the owlish feat of spinning his head a half rotation to first eyeball Atelar and the settle the glowing orbs upon him for a moment. Although after a few seconds Kostvel realized nothing was normal about Glith, so why should flipping ones head around matter all that much.

Nodding his head in reply to Glith's comment on how he should speak to her he decided to recover his only remaining melee weapon first. He had his crossbow, but it was useless in close quarters, and currently unloaded. Sliding gingerly across the ice he slid past Atelar and scraped to a halt beside the partially buried halberd half Atelar had previously discarded. Now that the ice was covering the floor, the entire head and most of the handle lay encased in the ice. A quick tug reaffirmed his thoughts that it wasn't going to come out easily. Placing both Gauntleted hands upon the haft, he set his feet firmly upon either side, boots splayed out to best grip the ice. With a quick snap upward of his arms and a minor out rush of breath, he smashed the halberd half free of the ice in a upward shower of ice. Standing there the haft gripped tightly in both hands suspending the head in midair he could feel the fatigue in both arms from the events following the teleport already. Not to count the mental tiredness he felt trying to process all that which had happened.

Allowing the halberd half to drop to his side in one hand he breathed out a small sigh, breath forming a crisp cloud of fog before his face. Gritting his teeth he looked over to the girl he was supposed to talk to. Looking at her he had his doubts, but when Glith said that he better do it fast he made up his mind. Performing his kind of skating slide he shuffled and slid his way over to her, stopping a few feet in front of her. Standing still he flashed a weak smile, doing his best to look calm, centred, and intimidation free. He still couldn't hear very well from his previous incident with the banshee, as sound seemed to be strained through some sort of tunnel before it came to his ears. Or at least that's what things sounded like. Using a portion of the bottom of his surcoat he wiped away the dried and frozen blood which had ran down from his ears to beneath his chin.

Looking at the girl for a few moments he took her in carefully, taking in the fact that she had no armour on at all. Curious to see in their current location, but it wasn't as if everything was completely normal and sane here either.

“Look, I don't know who you are, but we have pretty much zero time for introductions. Me, Kostvel. Pile of armour over there, Glith. Other guy, Atelar.” He commented briskly, quickly pointing out those he mentioned with his free hand. “And for now I'm sure were in this predicament together. Backstab us and I'll make sure to kill you first before I die. Now
follow me, and we'll get the hell out of this place.”
He added looking her squarely in the eyes.

Stepping back he slid toward the door Glith had stepped through, moving a little faster than usual. Turning back to the girl he gestured to the ice with his free hand. “If you fall I'll give you a hand.” he said as he slid farther away. It was her choice to follow after or take her chances staying up here alone. He figured she would come along, as he had essentially laid out a do or die ultimatum in front of her. Skidding along he beckoned to Atelar as well.

“Lets go, ready up some fancy magic like fireballs or something and we'll follow after Glith.”

Atelar involuntarily shuddered as Glith looked to him and Kostvel. He was almost used to such abnormal bodily physics by now, almost. He paid rather loose attention as Glith instructed Kostvel to speak with their odd newcomer, who didn't seem to do much but stand around. She hadn't said a word to anyone either, almost like a mute statue. She looked around occasionally, but not much action was performed by this odd character. She had been still this entire time, and had not responded to what little Atelar had said.

Noises, and the rumble of a rock crashing against the wall notified Glith of a approaching enemy, which he quickly brought to light before stepping out to swing at a skeleton. Kostvel approached soon after and began to head towards the door as well. Atelar looked up at him and sighed, falling in behind his human comrade.

Peeking a glance outside, Atelar saw the skeleton Glith had swung at was brought quickly to its demise. There were a great many of them, but they didn't seem very durable. If anything, the seemed more like almost loosely tethered together piles of bones, judging from the way the bones flew as Glith struck. Of course it was just as likely that they were merely lesser undead and thus fairly weak, but they made up for their apparent weakness with quite large numbers.

Slapping his hands together and rubbing them before wringing them apart, Atelar began to conjure orbs of electrical blue magic in his left hand, and bright orange magic in his right. Sticking his left hand out of the doorway, Atelar let loose a bolt of electricity to test the might of their enemies. There was a loud crackle and bright blue light burst from his hand and arced towards a group of skeletons. The force of the bolt pierced one skeleton through the sternum and dove into a second skeleton's head, sending bones flying backwards as two of their attackers were slain.

Atelar nodded, a bit more confident now, they seemed easy enough, granted there were several dozen of them, putting them at a very even or slightly weighted match, but they didn't seem very resilient. Atelar stepped out the door and took a place slightly behind and to the left of Glith, left arm extended. Small blue sparks coursed around his hand, as he prepared to let loose another bolt of lightning.

Glith didn't have much trouble dispatching of his own kin. But he wasn't paying much attention to whom he was destroying. He was looking for something very specific. When his eye caught a pile of bones wearing old-fashioned steel armour plates bound together with ropes, he reacted.

The tall suit of armour waltzed though the sea of skeletons like a bulldozer, swinging left and right. Arrows either bounced off his armour or flew right in with the same effect. He sheathed his sword. Through the head of one skeleton he grabbed the plated arm of his target, a frame holding a spear. A glow enlightened the crowd amidst which he stood, driving back the undead. Immediately after that the spear dropped to the ground, having no arm to hold it. Glith stood and flexed his "new" limb and tested it out by smashing in the head of his victim. The arm looked horribly out of place, but did the same job as his old one used to, so it would be fine for now.

Two skeletons were sent flying into the castle courtyard by an elbow with the left. Glith walked but with even less effort, now having both arms, and stood a few meters in front of Atelar. His deep voice resonated back at the room:

"How much longer must you two take? We don't have all night."
Why have a life when you can make one?

... The man looked rather humorous, sliding around to pick up his respective objectives. He didn’t need to attempt to look less intimidating, currently he was a blessing to look at compared to that overly powerful ice-wizard over there or the giant death-armor that had been giving commands earlier. While there was no doubt this fellow was equally powerful to match his comrades, but he had not shown it yet, so currently he was a breath of relief from the horror-show that had been going on. The silver-haired girl smiled mysteriously as an answer to Kostvel’s words, and took off and grabbed his hand.

‘Understood. I’ll keep those words in mind. Don’t worry. I would not betray you at this point. Not after this… display.’ She hardly needed to indicate what display she was referring to. The proof was everywhere. ‘Now, hold me or I’ll fall.’

As they made their way towards the commotion and the shouting undead apparently in charge, the girl glanced at the numerous bones blocking the path. She did not feel threatened. Not at all. They did not feel dangerous, not with this pack of heroes to rely on. Of course, she had no intention of letting them have all the glory. The scythe had directed her here, after all. There must be some purpose in following them. With people this powerful, there must be an equally powerful prize at the end of their journey. If she could take part of that… a great part of her purpose would already have been solved. This was the time. Now to seem useful.

The girl fingered on the scythe behind her, assuring herself once again that is was there with her touch. She really needed to stop doing that. Her senses told her over and over it was there, and she needed not confirm it with her other senses. As well, when she was doing that someone else might understand that there is something there. The girl let go, and kept on running/slipping/sliding.

As they came into hearing range of the large undead that would appear to be the leader, at least if one inspected who was giving all the commands, the girl felt slightly less safe. But considering the amount of scattered bones that was lying around him and the fact that one of his arms had been replaced with the arms of a former enemy it was safe to assume he was a better guy than those piles that he had reduced around him. Deciding to trust the figure Kostvel had referred to as Glith, the girl smiled just a bit.

‘I trust there is no objection in me helping you guys out, is there?’ She was feeling powerful. This was, after all, her element. The moonlight was covering the area, shining through the hole created by the ice and from there shining into different pass-ways into the areas around, bouncing on the ice. Using this, the girl would be able to perform at a heightened level of power. She excitedly thought of how she would do this…

‘Hey, Kostvel.’ She softly said the name of the person whose hand she’d been holding. ‘I have a spell that could make you temporarily stronger in a fight. It has a side-effect of your veins and eyes becoming black during the duration, but your constitution and strength will be enough to make you capable of great feats. Interested?’ He was obviously a close-combat person, seeing the specially made unique halberd that he was carrying. As such, he could make an excellent target for Enforced Dread. However… wonder how much he’d trust her from the get-go? All she really needed to cast the spell was to touch a part of him, like his hand here… all the necessities were done, and with the moonlight around it boosting the girl's spells would make for a truly amazing boost. But would he… think the same?

Kostvel gripped her hand tightly as he skidded across the ice after Glith, his free hand holding his half halberd tightly in one gauntlet. He would have preferred to have the lower half of the haft in this situation, but circumstances of the teleport deprived him of such. As is it was oddly balanced now, much to top heavy with the crows beak and spike with along with the axe head to be used as a standard axe. But for now he would have to make do.

Following closely through the door after Glith he watched rather curious at what Glith intended to do smashing through the crowds of undead. Although it took only moments for him to see the large figures purpose, clearly revealed as he made use of his new arm on his surrounding enemies on his way back. Arrows were ricocheting off his armour and the stones about badly aimed in Kostvel's opinion, as Glith was pretty much the only one in the party immune to such. As he stood he saw Atelar unleashing his own attacks, with a dazzling display of light ending in fairly good effect on target. Though at the moment most of the attention seemed to be on Glith as pretty much only one skeleton had attacked him, which he had easily dispatched with a quick swipe of the halberd to the skull. Although this could change at any moment since Glith waded back to Atelar commenting on their current lack of speed.

With a smile Kostvel nodded, and pushed after Glith liberally using the wicked crows beak on his halberd to smash apart bones and to stave in skulls. Since the brutal pick end was made for smashing through armour, the skeletal composition of his enemies yielded little resistance. But after a while he could feel his strength waning. He had sort of a second wind, but after going through the intensity of their last engagement he didn't have much energy left at all. It was at this time that the quiet voice came from behind him. He heard that she had some sort of spell that would make him stronger and heighten his endurance, but had the side effects of making his veins and eyes black. Which at the moment he considered a small price to pay for such, since it would only last during the duration of the spell.

Turning around toward her he fixed her with his eyes for a second. “I don't care. Do it. We've got to get out of here.” He said. As it stood there wasn't any point worrying about betrayal or whatnot, because they would be dead for sure if they didn't escape.

Atelar blanched as Glith lurched away, into the mob of skeletons, arrows and stones flying this way and that. Atelar yelped and ducked as a poorly aimed arrow flew in his direction. His eyes whizzed to a set of skeletons launching arrows with seemingly no intended target, rather, a general area in which to shoot arrows at. That general vicinity being the castle wall in which Atelar, Glith, Kostvel and their newfound person-ally. Several arrows had somehow made their way into the ragged banners that hung high above them, several more were wedged between stones in the wall, but the majority lay in broken piles near the wall, where they had hit, broken, and bounced off with no effect whatsoever.

Atelar leveled his glowing hand at the skeletons and let loose a bolt of lightning. The blue flash of light crackled and erupted from his hand, zigzagging its way almost instantaneously to its target, bones and arrows flew as a pair of skeletons were caught in the electricity and shattered. Atelar grinned as he let loose bolt after bolt, scoring another pair of kills, as electricity chased after the skeletons as they made an attempt to scatter.

His grin quickly disappeared as he noticed almost too late a skeleton that had gotten way to close to him. He had forgotten that Glith had pushed on ahead. He dodged a wild vertical slash from a skeleton's notched blade, and took a bony arm to the face, recoiling backwards from the blow. In his hand, a purple orb took the place of his electrical blue magic, and driving his palm forward he slammed the purple orb into the skeleton's sternum, the purple orb disappearing into its chest cavity before it was sent flying backwards.

By then, Glith had returned and the Skeleton's changed their focus. Soon afterwards Kostvel and their newfound fellow joined the fray. As Kostvel took to one side, smashing at skeletons and, and Glith in the center, Atelar took to the other side and brought the orb of bright orange magic to his face, holding his palm up and open wide, he blew into the orb, expelling a stream of fire into the narrow swath before him, lighting up the dark area with bright orange light, flickering shadows, and warming heat.

"I hope you don't intend to have us fight off every single one of these," Atelar called out between breaths of fire, his bursts of air and fire pushing skeletons back as they slowly collapsed or burned to ashes.

"My body can survive a jump down, I doubt any of you can," answered Glith. "So yeah, we're going to have to get through the majority here to get to the ladders that are on the walls." Glith pointed out several siege ladders that were leaning on the walls, not further than seventy meters away. Kaylee swung again and again, leaving several bodies in its wake each and every time. The knight paid close attention to the fire spell Atelar cast, which seemed to go normally this time.

The fire revealed what Glith didn't quite expect: the shadow he saw moving earlier wasn't as large as the entire courtyard. However, what he did see was maybe worse than any demon here. The suit turned to his allies:

"Pick up the pace! We're moving now!" The normally calm and deep voice deformed into a higher pitched, almost angry shadow of itself. Forgetting about the rest of the enemy grunts altogether Glith rushed to a nearby edge and jumped down. Seven meters later he landed with a loud "bang", deforming his foot. By re-heating his armour the deficiency was quickly fixed and the knight stood back up, staring into the courtyard which streched out in front of him. A single figure stood there, faintly smiling as it looked up the walls, seemingly waiting until everyone got down.
Why have a life when you can make one?
