Kostvel lay as if stunned for a few moments outside the edge of the hole, chest heaving up and down. It wasn't that he was really physically tired, he had quite a lot of stamina. It was that all the stuff they had to go through to get to just this point battling the wizard had tired him out a bit mentally. And in turn he found doing simple things harder to do at the moment. There had been no real period since the teleport where he could fathom what was really going on and get things straight in his head. But now was not the time to do such things.

Pushing himself to a crouched position with his good hand reorienting himself to the area. He had hit his head pretty good and it took a moment to focus forward. But when he did he saw that he was still in a position behind the wizard, and he was about to stumble forward in attack, when he realized he didn't have the halberd in his hand, it was still beside the hole. Just as he was about to turn to retrieve it, he saw Atelar motion to perform some sort of spell. Shifting slightly he saw the bolt of clear light strike the wizard squarely and almost instantly petrify him.

Figuring there wasn't much else he could do he stood up, bending around for a second to grab his short halberd in his good hand. He also retrieved his armour, and while buckling the breastplate back on gingerly with his hurt arm, to the maniacal laughter of Glith. Turning about he watched curiously as Glith tapped the statue, before crushing it into pieces with one resounding punch. The mason in him wondered for a moment what kind of stone petrified people would make, but passed it from his mind as a pointless thought for now.

Stepping closer to the group, he rubbed his injured arm idly while looking about. He noticed the girl off to the side and regarded her for a second. Although she carried a big scythe, she didn't seem to be all that happy that the wizard was dead, more shaken. He wondered if this was her first battle, not all that many took to combat easily.

“Well you going to join us? Put in your opinion on how we should get out of here?” He said, beckoning toward her. That done, he turned to Atelar. “That was a pretty awesome spell you just slung there. That wizard almost had me in a good one, casting that hole behind himself. Good defensive tactic to stop people behind you I suppose.” He commented, taking a few seconds to gaze over the large gates that Glith had made reference to.

“Maybe we should just see if they're unlocked or have a simple windlass mechanism?

Atelar cringed as Glith laughed his oh so eerie laughter. It sounded like sand paper and nails screeching against plate metal. Atelar turned away as Glith stepped forward and reduced the once mighty wizard of Thay to rubble. Inside Atelar grinned darkly. The high and mighty elf had it coming to him, to be honest. Atelar found many elves quite disagreeable, just because of the fact that they were so overly proud, and often refused to speak to half breeds such as himself. He did feel a little bad for the elf though, in some odd, half brotherhoodial way that likely made no real sense.

Atelar shrugged and turned his way towards the regrouping party. He noticed Kostvell rubbing his injured arm. All of his wounds acquired in this battle was not because of mistakes on his part, or even injuries inflicted upon him by the elf wizard. No, Kostvel's injuries came from a different source. Atelar's eyes narrowed and he shot a suspicious glare at the girl who had joined them. His gaze lasted for the briefest of moments, and then turned away. Later. He'd deal with her later. First they had to get out of this forsaken place. Once they did, there would be plenty of time for questions.

The short half elf returned his attention to Kostvel as he was complimented. The half breed nodded in thanks and Kostvel went on to comment about the wizard's prowess with magic as well. That gave Atelar pause. He noticed that, although the wizard they faced was a wizard of Thay. The elf did not throw a single spell at them. The hole Kostvel referred to was not a spell from the wizard. Atelar opened his mouth to point out just that. But he quickly decided against it and shut his mouth. No, the thing to do now was to get out of here.

"Well, I mean I could always just blast it with another spell," Atelar said jokingly.

I can't tell if Myke is standing on something or did an amazing job of timing a jump. I'd like to imagine it was a jump
    Neither, he is floating
I'm pretty sure he's just that tall
No he was on a table
I don't know.. Have you seen how tall he is?

Glith suddenly remembered something. He turned to Minda:

"I take it you have no idea what this place is, do you? Even though you are silenced, I can still hear you, and so can they, " he pointed out to the other two partymembers.

"You all may have forgotten this in all the commotion, but it is still so. As such, I'll leave out the fact that the hole may or may not have been of your doing, or that Atelar's spell may or may not have been completely random. This is a Wild Magic zone after all. Things happens here that no man or god can explain. Every spell you cast is possibly affected by the aura of this place."

The faint glow of a healing spell illuminated Kostvel's arm, vanishing a short while later. The knight once again turned back to the gate:

"I can go through no problem, but a jump from the walls may not be too beneficial for you three. I suggest you come with some sort of plan. And since thoughts can be heard, the girl should have no problem communicating. Hide that scythe before you injure someone else with it." The knight's voice didn't sound all too negative, but he wasn't happy either.

Kostvel asked for her opinion how they should get out of here if she was going to join them. What silliness, the girl thought. There was no way he could know she was silenced. She almost started smiling out of the stupidity of the situation. Kostvel then turned around and spoke to the wizard, complimenting the spell. Sure, that really was a spell worthy of praise. But she was sure he could throw them at any time. Atelar… he could be dangerous…

Then Kostvel continued and said the elf had cast a whole behind himself to defend his back. The girl almost coughed. Good thing she literally couldn’t. Kostvel wouldn’t be able to see her startled and rather scared expression. He had naturally believed that the hole’s purpose was to delay him, as if to make sure that the elf could deal with them one at a time. If they kept believing that and someone else had noticed that was her doing… the girl would be unable to defend herself due to lack of voice. That… could turn dangerous. She noticed that Atelar suggested blasting the gate up with a spell. There was no doubt about it with that tone of voice. He was able to do it. He was…

Glith turned to her and spoke. The girl listened. What, no I don’t know where this is. Wait, what? How could they possibly hear me when I’m silenced? Glith afterwards went on to describe how they were in a… wild… magic zone..? … Oh. So that was why all her spells were going awry. Then she should most probably not throw another spell. Not really a problem, since she… well… could not throw a single spell like this anyhow. So, what was it he said there? That all thoughts can be hea-

The girl instantly shut off her thought-process and let her scythe cloak itself, disappearing from the sight of the others. The small smile the girl had gained from thinking the situation stupid earlier disappeared in a flash, and a slight rigidness was added to her suddenly embarrassed face. This was involuntary intrusion of privacy of highest degree. Silently gathering herself, she focused herself. Talking through thoughts was something she was not used to.

No, I do not know where we are. Should I? And I am incapable of casting spells too, due to the silence that came over me earlier, as such I am not of any help right now. And I would not hurt anyone with my scythe, I am not that unskilled.

Afterwards she made sure to shut up her thoughts, to remain being quiet.

Deep inside Glith grinned, then spoke normally:

"Since you pretty much met us here, I assume you do know where we are. That silence should wear off in about a single clock's worth (one hour). And your skills, while oddly interesting, seem to fade a little here..." The knight turned his back to Minda, glancing at Atelar, "while yours seem to gain in power. Funny thing, this magic is."

Kostvel watched as the glow of a healing spell spread about his arm, healing the injury. After the glow disappeared his arm no longer had a sharp pain running through it, and he flexed it cautiously. Thinking on Glith's comment, he was glad that he didn't have to really worry about this so called “Wild Magic Zone”. As far as he was concerned there wasn't all that much that you could screw up by sticking something sharp and pointy into somebody.

And now that Glith referenced it, Kostvel could hear a murmuring of the others thoughts in his head. He had kinda forgot about it in the heat of the moment, but he did find it a bit annoying. He didn't really like the idea of others being able to hear what he thought and vice versa. At that moment he heard a clear thought line coming from the girl saying that she didn't know where they were, that she couldn't cast spells, and that she was skilled in the use of her scythe. Kostvel shrugged, and instead paid attention to the walls, now wondering about their height.

“How high do you think those walls are anyway? I've got two meters of rope, and if I coiled my tabard and tied it together we might get another meter or so.” He said aloud, eyeing the structure critically. “But Glith would have to leave last as he is the only one who can jump down, and we would need him to hold the rope.”

Atelar shrugged, it was true this place gave him more power than he would have ever dreamed to obtain any time soon, but the whole vibe of the place just felt wrong, his spells felt... dirty, and he tired much quicker, because the more powerful spells, such as that ice blast and petrification spell demanded more from him than his normal spells. He heard Kostvel's thoughts regarding the "Wild Magic Zone" and thought of what it would have been like to not be a mage, to not have to worry about all this Magic mumbo jumbo. Kostvel had a fairly simplistic view of combat, a view that had served him well throughout this trial of theirs. Atelar envied him for that.

When Kostvel suggested using rope to scale the wall, Atelar shrugged. "Do you think you have enough rope for that?" He asked curiously.

Even if he did have enough rope, Climbing to the top of the wall was one thing, getting down was another, Atelar thought of raising another ice pillar for them to climb or set down on, but he then realized the idiocy of of attempting to climb slippery ice, and the effort such ice would take once out of the "Wild Magic Zone" and decided against it. That said, he could always just blast the door with something, it couldn't hold out forever could it?

Perhaps they could combine Kostvel's technical knowledge with Atelar's magic somehow?

"Well, my sight suggests the walls are about 6 meters tall. Riddled with holes, so someone with adequate climbing skills could scale it. Otherwise there are no current ways up, " pondered Glith.

... The girl was hugely worried that she had thought something embarrassing or over the top while not aware that her thoughts were capable of being heard. If she had, then it would appear that none had reacted to it. Good. Then she simply needed to not think about anything too revealing about herself.

Below are all thoughts, and they need not be read unless desired to.

Like the scythe… no, don’t think about the scythe. Don’t think about the scythe. You are thinking about the scythe! Think about something else! Oh, what a beautiful moon… I’m supposed to be stronger under the moon, but that apparently doesn’t qualify under the Wild Magic Zone… Yes, I get stronger in the light of the moon and in darkness. Something wrong with that? Why is it so hard to stop thinking? Ah, I need to think about something else. I probably sound like a roaring mad-man right now. But, I was always able to think, even when I was hiding. I was never forced to mask my thoughts, so now I don’t know how to do it… Ah, that is just an excuse! Gear yourself up, you need to shut off your thoughts! You are going to stop thinking now. Right now. No, don’t continue thinking. They will become annoyed. They are most likely already annoyed. I cannot stop thinking. Why cannot I stop thinking? Ah, yes. This is a beautiful building. Looked much better when it was whole. Yes. Of that there can be no doubt. But, it is still strangely intact. Wonder, how long did… wait, what, what are these memories? No idea. I don’t want an idea. Stop thinking. I wonder what kind of wood was used for that table back then? It seemed so dark, but the true nature of the wood might have been masked by age. Yes, like. I wonder what was oldest, that wood or Glith? Stop thinking. There is only one thing that matters. Alright, two. Maybe three. Myself, Glith, getting out and the scythe, cannot forget that one. That was four. Stop thinking. That elf. I am sure he was controlling the skeletons. He was controlling the skeletons to attack us? I don’t see how otherwise the skeletons can have stopped attacking on his command. But why would he not attack in tandem with his skeletons then, and why did he not take out us others in the same way if he was not controlling them? Why does that make so little sense? I wonder if he underestimated the Ice Wizard, facing us straight on. Or maybe he didn’t expect the Wild Magic Zone to do that? Maybe the reason he didn’t use so many spells was due to the zone? Yes, that makes sense. And then he paid for it since the zone favored the Ice Wizard. Interesting. But why is it so difficult to stop thinking? I need to say something. Oh, yes, that’s right. I cannot. I’m silenced, by my own spell. I don’t think two meters of rope is going to cut it, that wall is way too high. I wonder if there is any spell that the wizard knows that could unsilence me? It is not called unsilence. I don’t know what it is called. Cure? Cure my silence? That sounds ridiculous. Ice wizard, your idea is not terrible at all. I still wonder why you have not blasted that wall to smithereens yet. Why not? It is not as if it is a regional artifact that could attract tourists. Blast it to bits! Yes, climbing on ice is completely OK. Can’t you make it like a ladder or something? That should be easy! Your spells will surely auto-adjust themselves to fit your needs perfectly! After all, the Wild Magic Zone favors you! Unlike me! I look pathetic here! I look like a complete failure! There is no way my master would be happy with this… wait, who was my master? I don’t know, I don’t know…

The above was all said with a pained expression on her face while the girl was doing her best to stop… thinking. It symbolizes the vague thoughts rushing through her mind, and the vagueness is apparent.

Glith, I could easily scale those walls. I am trained in any and all arts of sneaking in and out of a location undetected, and scaling walls is a large part of that. And with a wall that is as butchered as that one, I could easily reach the top with all that foot-hold. I don’t think I could take any one of you with me, but if I can be of help up there, then I am at your service. It doesn’t appear like I’ll be able to help with spells anytime soon anyway.

Kostvel stood silently scanning the wall with his eyes, silently observing some of it's details. As he stood he began to notice chatter in his head grow louder and more obnoxious from the girl who had recently joined the group, and it was a little upsetting. He wasn't used to this kind of stuff, and hearing her natter away inside his brain about trying not to think was bad enough. He gripped his forehead quietly in irritation with a gauntlet covered hand until she finally managed to get things under control and broadcast thoughts in a clear and coherent fashion. He noted mentally her climbing ability, and then decided to go get a closer look at the wall himself. He wouldn’t be able to climb the wall himself, as his armour was way to heavy for such things, so most likely he would have to ascend last being assisted up somehow.

Pacing up the the wall he began to examine the stonework closely with a mason's trained eyes. He ran a finger along the grooves worn along the edges of the stonework, and thought on how there was no mortar visible. Which either indicated the wall was originally built with no mortar at all, or more likely the mortar was worn away with the passage of time. At first site he didn't recognize the kind of stone, so he spent a few moments prying a chunk out using the spike on the end of his halberd half. A few moments of prying and scraping rewarded him with a jagged pebble sized chunk of the stone. Peering at it in the dimmer light he stared curiously at the grain of the material, and how the edges had broken off due to his prying. A minute or two's investigation revealed that it was built of similar material to the stone covering the courtyard, and that he knew nothing about it. Neither had he seen of anything matching it's grain and colour, nor had he heard anything that he could recall about it. Not that he was a expert, his parents knew much more than he did at this time.

Stepping back he now took a better look at the overall construction of the wall. The block size and construction seemed to be pretty standard, and he assumed the wall was built similarly to most other walls about. Which would rule out trying to force their way through, as the multiple layers and gravel filled interior would resist pretty much anything they could throw at it for now. And from his personal experience in siege craft the gate would more likely be even harder to force through. For all they knew their could be a protective outer portcullis on the other side. For good measure he reached an arm into one of the many holes dotting the wall just to see how deep it went, and found he could only stick his arm in about three quarters of the way before coming across an obstruction. Not that all the holes would be the same, but he didn't feel like testing every one.

Touching the length of rope he had wrapped about his waist he now wished he had brought more, as it would certainly come in handy now. Shrugging, he turned his mind to overcoming their current obstacle with the stuff they had at hand. Remembering Atelar's question to his earlier comment only now, he looked at the height of the wall. “No, only enough to cover maybe a third of it's height.” he replied. One of their options and one he thought was probably the worst, was that he could discard all his heavy armour so he could climb to the top of the wall himself. But that left him with no armour, and no way to recover it. So while it was an option it was one he was loathe to take. Although they might not have a choice.

As for any other thoughts he had on the matter, he wasn't sure how dependable Atelar's magic would be. If this was a wild magic zone how could they know what the outcome of one of his spells would be for sure? At the very least if he could make some sort of ramp of ice to the top Kostvel was sure he could make it. It wouldn't be an easy climb, but with the assistance of the spike on his halberd he was sure he could make it. Though on the other hand how they got down once they were on the other side was another worry. If Glith could get down could he round up some resources from outside to assist them?

Realizing also that most likely all his thoughts and speculations were probably broadcasting to everyone about, he immediately stopped on his train of thought, and thought of a thick black background in his head to clear his mind. He didn't want to annoy the others with any thoughts he had on the matter, and he was a bit confused on how they were supposed to think clearly with this mental broadcasting stuff going on.
