In first days Mother Nature crafted Everdaunt and set her five children on the Earth there to mind it. Back then the rule of each Season would last longer than they do now- stretching for what we think of as centuries. Spring's rule was of new growth and fertility, Summer's rule was of lazy, hot days and ripening. Autumn's rule brought and eventual dying process to the earth, and Winter would lay a mantle of ice over everything. Rapture would finish the process with his four plagues.
Rapture's rapture would start with a contagious disease, then fire raining from the sky, followed by warfare and animosity and finally global flooding. This way Rapture would kill off most of the living creatures and their silly creations so that Spring could begin anew when her rule came about.
After a while the Seasons became tired of Rapture regularly destroying what they had created. They wanted to allow some of the creatures of Everdaunt to evolve and grow, to see what they would become if left to their own devices. When Rapture could not be swayed by words, they decided to use underhanded tactics. The four other Seasons tricked Rapture and trapped him in a prison under their tower.
The four remaining Seasons shortened the length of each of their rules to just three months. Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter would come and go and the world would survive. Animals increased in number, plants begot more plants, the Were packs grew larger and prospered. A new species, Humanity, appeared on the earth. Eventually, the Seasons not only forgot what they had done to Rapture but also that there had ever been a fifth Season. Of course, Rapture, trapped as he was for seemingly all eternity, could not forget, and his rage seemed to increase with every passing century.
The crafty humans came to outnumber the weres and went off to shape the land into farms, towns and finally cities. Vampires, the stalkers of the night, appeared on the earth, and humans created a new type of lifeform known as a golem.
Creatures would still come to the Seasons with their problems and minor disputes. Finally the Seasons became fed up and told the creatures to govern themselves. They randomly chose a man to be the king of the humans, and a castle for built for him on the banks of the river. His name was Dickenson. Time went on and Dickenson family ruled Everdaunt. The effective body guards minding the family were called Doyls.
Everdaunt, like the Seasons who rule its climate, is a forgetful land. The days of the Dickenson family is all but forgotten- a footnote in Everdaunts history books. If anyone were to ask who ruled Everdaunt, theyd point you in the direction of a high ranking Doylite commander.Brontė was once a rather unnotable place, but for perhaps one prosperous factory. Now its population rivals the great cities of Dickens and Wells. The only problem is Brontė can't keep up. These people are refugees- they came here because they lost everything or because they were chased away from their homes by rapt. They thought there was a chance to start over here. Many people are stuffed in spaces too small, and food has become a luxury. Crime is on the rise, as well as drug abuse.A little over two years ago Winter violently and graphically killed a Dickens man. Now, it wasn't the first time a Season killed a human(Autumn has quite a record), but it was done in such a public and violent way that the people called for blood. So it was decided: Winter was to be incarcerated for a year, and Spring was to take his place in December and January. Everdaunt experienced its first winterless year.
It wasn't enough for the farmer parliament, who saw an advantage in controlling the climate, so Summer and Autumn were also made fugitives based on half remembered crimes. They went on the lamb and Spring, the most youthful of the Seasons, was bound to the Throne of the Seasons. The land of Everdaunt entered Eternal Spring.
Winter was freed from his prison in early December with the help of an ancient warmachine. Winter made to his temple in the north of Everdaunt and gathered an army of his loyal followers around him until the day of the Winter Solstice. This was when Winter and his monks completed a spell that increased Winter's power. On the very same night, Autumn died at his improved brother's hands.
Meanwhile, Spring hadn't been on the throne of the Seasons for weeks, though only a select few new that fact. The VXL, a dragon shaped weather machine developed by Reginald Rustillion had successfully replicated the effect of the Seasons and thus Spring was no longer needed to sit on the throne. On the night of Autumn's death, Summer found Spring being held hostage in a house in L'amour.
Winter and his army started to freeze the world from the north down, but worse than that for several months Death was impossible in Everdaunt. Without Autumn's power to keep him Rapture escaped, but he was weak. He only had the power over his signature disease plague, which he promptly set loose on the little town of MacDonald.
Spring has found the man destined to replace Autumn and death has finally returned to Everdaunt, just in time for shit to get worse. The VXL's programming has gone berserk and it is ripping a path of destruction through Everdaunt, and those infected with Rapture's insanity virus are walking over the land trying to spread the disease. Spring and Summer have gone to Bronte to work with the refugees there to try to make a stand against the VXL, while Winter and the new autumn cannot be found...
So far in Summer of the Dragon, we've met Nature's Paladin, a giant robot the minds of Brontė are working on at a breakneck pace, in hope that this thing can defeat the dragon. There has been a fire that has put even more pressure on the poor of Brontė. After a conversation with the creator of the VXL, one man has discovered that a device that can possible handicap the VXL is in the new jungle to the south, so he has put together a rag tag team of explorers to go in there and retrieve it. Meanwhile in Brontė, a rapt outbreak is just beginning...
Hope that helps. As for you, Shin, I suppose that depends on whether he's an enchanter or a wizard. I'll have to find the CS.

I get the sense that he's a wizard if he has magical ability at all. He might just be good at slight of hand and drawing the eye.
Ah cool thanks for the update. looks same as the last time i read it on the first page i think. So Is everyone characters together in the IC? or in different areas of the world?
Huh...Alex's talents/skills were listed as "Magic Illusions Acting Persuasive skills." It looks like Magic and Illusions are mentioned separately. If he were a wizard, what could he do?

Oh, right, right! Eyzire and Joy are currently a bit into the jungle, Winter is inside the VXL, Clawhammer, Summer, Isaiah, Aurek, Cassondre, and Veran are about to enter the jungle, Alexander and Spring are in Bronte, and I THINK W-29, Louise, and Cal are also in Bronte...not sure there.

Yes, I will change the cloak part. I think I will have her carrying the virus, which explains why she can't always control her urge to kill. Ameena grew up in a warriors world, lost everything, and contracted a virus she doesn't have a clue about, so she is certainly a darker soul who might kill almost anyone her instincts tell her to... it's a matter for her to figure out "aw sh*t I have the virus" and then try to learn some control against a losing battle of the virus slowly getting worse. Like swimming against the current.
As for Winter, yeah he is kind of like that 40yr old hottie that you and your gals have to really look closely at to guess his age, and by the time you look close enough you are no longer worrying about his age... ^_~ but wondering what you can do to please him. (which based from how I played a main character) Winter is in no hurry to sleep around, but more focused on using people. You'd have to be really special to make that thought cross his mind.

I don't mind how he gets out, but yes, Winter can begin interacting soon. It would be fun to see Rapture smack Winter around a little for being so immature. =P I can picture him knocking on the egg and then grunting at Winter, who is all "uh-uh, not coming out" and so he has to pry him out of it. xD but that's just my humorous side. I really am open to anything.
"You take the breath right out of me.
You left a hole where my heart should be.
You got to fight just to make it through,
'cause I will be the death of you."
Yes, I'll leave it at that...also, I've just realized something terrible...
