Name: Dirae (Die-ray)

Race: Siren

Age: 23

Gender: Female

Homeland: UMBRA

Appearance:

Her eyes are odd. The pupils are a golden yellow, while the Sclera are pitch black, with white dots scattered around them, like stars in the night sky. She wears her lovely little mask(altered so that she can sing and be heard clearly, but her breath can't be seen) to hide the fact that whenever she breathes, gold and black gasses alternate in coloring her breath. Her hair color is purple. She's wearing a vest covered with pockets for tidbits and useful items she's found. All of her clothing has pockets sewn into it as well.

Size: 5ft 3in

Elemental Affinity: Dark

Bio: Dirae was born in UMBRA, under unusual circumstances. Her mother was a Siren with Dark affinity, visiting the lands of Light. She was just curious to see what other lands were like, compared to the darkly beautiful lands of UMBRA. She was in a bar when she met the God of Light, Adon. Or at least, the form he chose to take that day. Dirae's questioning of her mother gave her vague details at best, and dear old dad certainly wasn't around to tell her what happened, so she had to accept her mother's short and to the point explanation. Several ounces of potent liquour had been consumed by the both of them, they talked and liked each other like they assuredly wouldn't have if they had both been sober, one thing led to another, and when she woke up the next morning, a God was fading away in the light, leaving the words 'this never happened'. And so she behaved like in never happened, continuing to wander RUNE. That is, until it became clear she was pregnant.

Luckily for Dirae, and her mother, she had been visiting home when it became apparent. So there was no long traveling ot get home before the baby was delivered. Unfortunately, the Goddes of Dark, Auna, noticed that one of her followers had been impregnated by the God of Light. His essence was in her child. She took slight offense to this, and decided to counteract his involvement, but putting her some of her own essence into the child. The result?

Pain. Excruciating, agonizing, pain whenever the two godly essences inside of Dirae decide they can't get along and play nice. It's happened less and less as she's grown, but its still happens far to often for Dirae's taste. Like whenever she does something that one or the other thinks is overly selfish or selfless, or whenever she tries to stay out of stranger's problems or gets involved in their problems. Or a host of other personality conflicts.

Her father's followers mostly view her as something to be protected and preserved. Which means, they want to lock her up and never let her see the light of day in the name of protection. Those few that don't want to protect her want to kill her, viewing the dark 'taint' of Auna as something that has corrupted her and to free her from the 'pain' of having Auna's touch, they must kill her. Auna's followers at least are constant. They want her dead. The mass public however, couldn't care less about her. But, when they inevitably notice her breath, word would eventually reach her father's worshippers, or Auna's worshippers, and she'd have to leave before she was either imprisoned or killed. Or both.

At the age of fifteen, she left home to explore UMBRA and the world. For the most part, it's been relatively prejudicial, maniacal, religous, murderous, zealot free. Except for when her mask comes off and she breathes out and they ask questions she has long since stopped giving believable lies for. Adventure awaits! And with adventure, perhaps anonymity.

Personality: Dirae prefers her machine and magical creations to people. They're less likely to try and kill you for something you couldn't help being, or try and lock you up for your 'safety' because of your divine blood, or expect you to do divine acts by calling upon your godly parent. Her personality can...differ. Some days(or even hours) she might be as Selfish and Driven as her Dark affintiy demands. Others, she'll go with what the Light essence in her says, and be selfless and humble. There is one constant, however. She's protective. If you've earned her trust and friendship(and sometimes if you haven't), the two essences in her will actually be nice and work together to help her protect you from any harm. She also has split personality to the extreme. Someitmes, when the pain of two essences battling insid of her becomes to much, her normal mind will recede from the rest of her, to recuperate and watch. Whichever Essence is winning will take over for a time, and she will act exactly according to that essence's desires.

Skills: Singing, especially without using her magic. Since her magic depends on her voice, she really is a wonderful singer. If you can notice that when she's trying to kill you, anyways. Creation, both magical and technological. Give her the proper materials, and she can make something useful with her hands, or at least repair and/or improve an item. Magical wise, she's adept at using her voice to create things(illusions, elemental attacks, golems, etc.) for both defense and offensive purposes.

Equipment: A revolver, and a toolbelt(filled with tools, naturally).

Other: Has she mentioned the voices in her head? The two essences inside of her have developed personalities and voices of their own. They argue almost constantly, but she's managed to develop the skill of ignoring them to such a fine degree that she only notices an annoying buzz in the back of her mind.

She also has a, tiny, pet mechanical dragon. It's technically magical, but she created it with technology and gave it gimmicks and things to help her on repairs and building. The magic is only a source of power, to give it personality and life. It's roughly the size of a billards ball(when it's curled up into a ball in the crook of Dirae's shoulder), and is 6 inches from nose to tail tip.

Username: The Irish Tree

Name: Tordavask Dorbenesh

Race: Iron Elf

Age: 25

Gender: Male

Homeland: TERRA

Appearance: Tordavask at a first glance isn’t anything special or different from the typical male Iron Elf, he has dusky brown skin, and his hair is a steely gray, and is fairly straight. His irises are a deep maroon, and he has the typical black sclera.

(I’m sorry he looks so fucking evil, but honestly this was the only thing I could find that wasn’t completely gaaaaaaaaaaay.)

Size: Tordavask has a rather slim build, like most elves, though a bit more muscular than average. He stand at 5’6, and has relatively broad shoulders for his size.

Elemental Affinity: Water

Bio: Tordavask was born into a relatively poor family, so much so that his parents died of famine while trying to at least keep him fed enough to live. Being flung into an orphanage at an early age didn;t affect him quite as much as it would other people, he always just tried to look on the bright side of things; in an orphanage at least he wouldn’t have to worry about going cold or hungry until he came of legal age or someone adopted him, though the adoption came quicker than he’d expected, if he expected it at all.

At the age of 6, he was taken in by a dwarven chemist by the name of Grij Dorbenesh, who did his best to teach the young elf his craft, and lo and behind, many chemical burns and burned-off eyebrows later, Tordavask could finally make a proper mixture. Living life near the outskirts of the Dwarven Highlands, the father and son had to make a living on the side, because really, how much money can you really make off of just chemicals? So, they had a small fur trading industry to themselves, trapping the less dangerous beasties of the Sylvan Jungle, and selling the pelts off as well as the valuable parts. Over time however, the pelt trading began slowing down, and Grij unfortunately fell into debt over time. Hoping to scrounge enough money for them to live comfortably, Tordavask left their home unbeknownst to his adoptive father to head to Rosa, hoping to find wealth in mercenary work.

Personality: Overall, Tordavask is a rather ingenuitive type of person, preferring to think his way out of problems, and often can see problems arising before they happen. He is somewhat paranoid of strangers, but if he warms up to them, he’ll be as friendly as any other Iron Elf. He also likes to avoid confrontation if he can help it, as he doesn’t really have the “walk” to go with his “talk”.

Skills:
Minor Engineering
Chemistry
Sleight of Hand
“One Hell of a throwing arm”
Grenade Knowledge
Minor Knife Skill
Trap Making
Being a Sneaky Little Elf

Equipment:
Various flasks of Acidic shits that’ll burn through soft metals and stone if given enough time
Tear Gas Grenades
Tungsten Wire Grenades
Gum Grenades
3ft. of piano wire
.45 ACP Luger (He’s a really shitty shot with guns, he just carries one for when they’re too close for a grenade, but too far to stab.)
Iron Dirk

Other: Likes pies. ‘Specially pecan. Don’t ask if he likes rhubarb though, that shit’s nasty.

Name: Castiel Devich
Age: 16
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Homeland: VENTUS
Appearance: Castiel has spiky black hair and topaz eyes, which is the same for most Ventan citizens. However, he is noticeably paler than most of his peers, despite all the time he spends outside. The reason for that is unknown to him. His height is below average, but it fits him perfectly. His clothes vary, as he has a fitting outfit for every terrain, it all depends where he wants to go next.
Size: 5'5
Elemental Affinity: Air
Bio: Castiel was born in one of the large, more technologically advanced sities of VENTUS. He was born as the youngest of a rich, but not royal family. Despite that, his parents were very knowledgeable and responsible and didn't pamper him too much. The small Castiel's love for exploring was shown at a very early stage of his life when he almost made it out of the city and got back safely without getting lost once. While his father was the owner of a big industrial corporation with factories all over VENTUS, he didn't force the boy to be his successor. In fact, he supported him in his dream to travel around the world.

When Castiel has already conquered the highest skyscrapers in his city, he decided to push his limits and take on one of the floating metal platforms, which he has heard lots of stories about. He quickly travelled to the nearest one and examined it. It was large, although not as large so that a city could be built on it, but it surely sufficed for the size of a smaller town. He also found out that the only way up is on small stones that orbit these platforms, getting closer and closer to it. He didn't get scared and started to hop to one stone to another in a quick succession. From halfway up, he noticed a massive field of iron sand a mile or so away from him, which was seemingly getting hit by a huge magnetic storm. He could feel its power even from his position. Being truly amazed by such force for the first time, he decided to unravel the massive powers still untouched by any race. Even if that takes him to another continent.

Personality: Castiel is a more-than-typical Air person. He is extremely easy-going, loves to explore and is very curious. His dream is to get to another continent once, as he thinks he has already seen everything in VENTUS. He rarely thinks of the consequences of his actions, which has got him into trouble more than once. He also tends to be impatient and thus doesn't plan for things much, but goes in as quick as possible. Other than that, he's very lovable and friendly if you look past his bad attributes. Lastly, he always keeps up with the tech advancements.
Skills: Castiel has excellent agility and he is very quick as well.
Equipment: His trusty backpack, which he always has on his back.

Name: Prahba Dena (Prahb-hah Dehy-nah), or Sister Dena
Race: Asuryaa (Female Asura Demon)
Age: 36
Gender: Female
Homeland: IGNIS

Appearance:
A white fairness graces Dena’s skin, which is already a far cry from the usual red skin tones of the Asura Demons. To make matters worse, Dena’s brothers and sisters already had the unnatural onyx black skin, and as such her white skin is considered to be an ill omen. Her shoulder-length, unkempt hair is – like most Asura – a snow white that reflects light with ease. Her demonic eyes hold a silvery color and glow, like a white mercury exists in her irises. Her facial features are sharp and angular, making her visage more fearsome than attractive. Her cheeks have subtle curves, accentuating her full lips. Her nose is small and gentle in contrast with her other sharper features.

She has a straight body type; subtle curves exist on her waist and hips but only if one looks for them. She could be considered well-endowed from a human standpoint, but that is solely due to her large size. Dena is very self-conscious about her body—apparently, she considers herself short and a little flabby, especially when compared to the other normally more muscular and curvaceous Asuryaa Demonesses. Then again, she is comparing herself to monsters almost a foot taller than her that love to bathe in blood to the point of constantly fighting everything they see.

Size/build:
Dena is a giantess, standing almost 7 feet (2.1 meters) and with a 220+ lbs (99+ kg) body of highly defined muscles. Despite her immense size and weight, she is no bulky bodybuilder: She must keep herself lean and agile enough to avoid the hazards that dot IGNIS. Note that she is actually quite small (in almost all aspects) when compared to her 8 ft Asuryaa / 9 ft Asura kin.

Elemental Affinity: Fire

Bio:
Among the race of demons known as the Asura, Sister Dena is among the few female demons known as Asuryaa. These demons are addicted to their pride, wrath, and bellicosity. In their eyes, physical power is the only true law of nature; the only people in the world are the conquerors and the vanquished, the predators and the prey, those who fight and those who die. Following this rule, the Asura race is heavily fractured into many different clans and families, each hostile to the other on top of already being frenzied monsters even within the Abyss. Dena was no different; she was consumed by bloodlust and aggression, obsessed with the feeling of striking a living being. It was her nature. It was imbedded in her basest desires. She was an Asura. And in the Abyss, the name Asura was synonymous with violence.

But, Dena was different than other Asura. She was small, she had pale skin, and she was curious about the mortal realm. If those three things didn’t ostracize her from the Asura already, the fact that she was disgusted with her own love of violence made her an outcast even among her own family. It was surprising, but not unexpected, that someday she would have been banished from the Asura clans, and being an Asura there were no other demons that would accept such a belligerent creature to care for. Needless to say, an Unbound demon has no place in the Abyss, and she was cast into the mortal realm, released into the fiery lands of IGNIS so she may drown in her primal desires to fight and survive. And that she did, for the cruel, cold Abyss was a different place than the deranged, molten hell that was IGNIS.

When a Sister from one of Fathaur’s Convents found Dena, she was an ideal Asura; bloodthirsty eyes, gnashing maw, bloodsoaked hands, black blades that had dulled but not yet lost their lethality, and an aura of pure violence and malignance that made even IGNIS’ wolfbears wary. Her body was scarred from claw and tooth, and many fresh wounds adorned her. One would think that such a berserker, a strong demon cast from a clan centered around combat, would not lose against a human woman in a heavy cloak.

It was in an instant that Dena was disarmed and stumbling forward. The second time Dena charged, the cloak was over her head and a metal wire quickly wrapped around her body, binding her arms close. Though Dena thrashed around and roared for what felt like hours, the woman patiently waited for Dena to exhaust herself (or at least quiet down). When Dena finally slumped over, too tired from her futile struggle against her bonds, the woman removed the cloak from around Dena’s head and said the phrase Dena still takes to heart today:

“My body may not be as strong as yours, but my mind and spirit are far stronger.”

The woman brought the now docile Dena to her Convent, a holy temple that preached martial discipline and patience always surpassed raw physical prowess, and such raw power should be refined by discipline and patience. Dena of the Asura, the demons who are well known for their berserk frenzies and bellicosity, found sanctuary and, for once, a home in this Convent. Though she is still a novice and many members still distrust a being whose primal urges disregard all their teachings, Dena wanted to spread the Convent’s teachings to as many people like her as she could. Though many people both trusting and distrusting of her argued against it, Dena had made up her mind...

Personality:
As intense, impulsive, and destructive as a blazing inferno, Dena’s extremely short temper combined with her innate addiction to violence makes her wrath a very dangerous and frequent event. There are many things that can set her off at a moments notice, and few things can safely defuse a situation without any harm coming to people, furniture, or objects.

Frankly, when she isn’t totally pissed she is extremely annoyed. She might be good at hiding it and she might practice meditation and yoga, but do not think once that her wrath is completely sated.

Though incredibly violent and easily angered, her passion, courage, and determination easily match her explosive frenzies. Though, she often takes these traits far enough to become obsession and foolhardiness. A good example is her current internal conflict: Though she was born with her demonic belligerence, she is passionate and determined to follow the teachings of Fathaur and find a way control her wrath.

Overall, Dena is prone to being rather extreme, especially when it comes to her drive and vigor. Guts!

Skills:

  • IGNIS Survival Knowledge – You don’t need this to be in IGNIS, though you technically won’t be living in IGNIS without it.

  • Demon Physique – Asura are well known for being brutes capable of chasing down horses and quite literally ripping people in half when angry. Though Dena is now mortal and has lost much of her speed and power; While about as strong as the average adult orc male, most demons in the Abyss would be laughing if they knew an Asura in the mortal realm who couldn’t even break someone’s bones with a single punch. Sometimes even Dena forgets that her power is a mere shadow of what it once was, leading her to occasionally severely overestimate her power.

  • Demon Stamina – Like her physical strength, her stamina is a mere fraction of a true Asura’s, which could fight at full force for almost a full day before showing signs of exhaustion. Generally speaking, she can still feel pain and exhaustion just like any other mortal, it just doesn’t hamper her as much.

  • Asura “Garam Hath” – People who have seen an Asura have probably seen their Garam Hath, or “heated hands.” A magic that is said to have originated from the first Asura trying to touch Fathaur, Asura can enchant their hands to take the properties of superheated metal. Basically, their hands become as hard as steel and glow white-hot, scorching and melting everything they touch as well as being too hard to cut or crush. Unfortunately, this magic is only powerful in the Abyss and mortal Asura – like Dena – are only able to make their knuckles retain the full strength of the magic. Their hands only get hot enough to warm some milk before bedtime, and their hands only get as hard as a tree trunk, a far cry from the scalding metal fists of the true Asura. Incidentally, Garam Hath is a central concept for Asura culture.

  • Terrifying, demonic aura – Needless to say, a cloaked giant that stands seven feet tall and can become enraged at the slightest of offenses can make a man think twice before doing something foolish. And, maybe it’s just superstition or racism, but when people know that she is a demon – an Asura, specifically – her aura of dread seems to increase twofold.

  • Multi-graspers – Six hands are better than two.

  • Healing Magic – ...Or so she wishes. Frankly, she is not suited for learning divine arts that require much finesse and gentleness. Despite trying to learn ever since she joined the Convent, she really only knows two methods of healing: A gentle and slow healing spell that relieves pain and heals superficial damage, though it takes a large amount of time (as in, it could take a full minute to simply fix up a papercut, and up to hours for something like a bite wounds or cut), and a much more rough and rather painful regeneration spell that forces the body’s cells to rapidly multiply and repair damage. On one hand, the regeneration spell uses demonic magic is much faster than the clerical healing spell; on the other hand, both can only heal superficial damage (they won’t repair torn tendons, punctured organs, broken bones, or the like) and the regeneration spell stings worse than an Ignan Two-headed Dragon Ant.

  • Select Firearm Training – Due to her above-average strength and numerous arms to keep the weapon steady, she has been proven to be naturally proficient at compensating for high-recoil and heavy firearms during one of the Convent's training regiments. Her known favorites include revolvers and shotguns, though she also practices with hand cannons, large-caliber pistols and rifles, and other taxing weaponry. Now, if only she was a bit better at aiming, then she might be allowed to actually use one and join the nightwatch.

Equipment:

  • Ignan Fathaur Convent Vestments – Heavy cloaks woven with sturdy ironbark tree sinews, inflammable Nightmare hide, and fibers from the durable Ignan black cotton. While tough enough to prevent the teeth of a hellhound from penetrating through and safe enough to wear while walking through the blazes of the Hellfire Valley, it is still just cloth and as such should not be counted on when in a swordfight or when fighting something with larger, sharper teeth than a hellhound. The standard wear appears as such, with the male’s on the left and female’s on the right. Dena’s robes are rather ragged.

  • Ignan Missionary Robes - Combat Technician – Under her cloak are missionary robes from IGNIS. They are crafted by the relatively same material as the cloak, but are much lighter and thinner and as such has much less protection against weaponry and heat. While Dena's missionary robes are relatively untouched as compared to her ragged cloak, the sleeves have torn off completely and the shoulders are heavily shredded to make room for her six arms and shoulders.

  • 4x Healing Salves + large bandage bundle & assorted poultices – Small round disks filled with a robust medical ointment imported from TERRA as well as a large roll of medical cloth and numerous poultices to help prevent inflammation, pain, and some types of poison. Needless to say, potent medical supplies are in very high demand in IGNIS.

  • 2x Asura Travellers Blades – Two long, thin one-sided blades made of a jet black metal from the Abyss. She originally had a set of six, but had to sell one of them to pay for room and board during her travels, and gave three others to the Fathaur Convent for ceremonial practices. They aren’t very sharp and are quite heavy, even for Dena, but they do their job.

  • Amulet of Fathaur – A lucky charm said to ward off danger, set in the shape of a stylized sun. The necklace and most of the charm are a silvery metal, while the center of the sun is a bright orange gemstone. She treasures this gift from a friend.

  • Large Pouch of Strange Black Ash – She uses it to coat her body. Is it for some ritual? What were the ashes before they were burned? Why do they stick to skin so well? There are many questions about these black ashes, many of which Dena outright ignores.

Other:
Her Asura name was Dhadhakate Loha Bhumi ke Chote Yatri ke Kale Ros, which means some strange phrase in Asura tongue. When she became mortal, she chose the name Prahba Dena, roughly meaning “to deliver a blaze.”

She coats her body in a jet black ash out of envy from her onyx-skinned siblings and disgust of her white skin. According to a Sister from Dena’s Convent, “one of her Asura switches is being seen without her makeup on. I agree that it’s embarrassing and sometimes it feels like you’re naked, but I guess Asura demons really do go berserk when they are mad!” The ashes also do well to conceal her scent.

Asura blood is bright red as opposed to human’s dark red, and has very savory taste. It’s also doesn’t agree with human stomachs, being the blood of a being from the Abyss, so Dena tends to warn people before they attempt ingesting. That said, it also attracts the nose of a few beasts that don’t know better.

Homeland: IGNIS
Appearance:

She has blood-red tattoos all over her body, though it is more predominate on her hands and face. She also has various piercings made of the bones of her enemies, harden so that they won't shatter in her skin. Her own fists are calloused and harden, but at the same time hold and unnatural sharp edge, befitting of her sobriquet.
Size: 6'3
Elemental Affinity: Fire
Bio:
Sheo, like many orcs, was born into the culture and ideal that they must use their natural gifts for the pursuit of good. The difficulty of that, however, was defining what "Good" is. Growing up her views of what was good and what was evil was done in extremes; black and white. You could not be either, you could not chose both, you could not chose a different option. It was always one or the other. It was simple, made things easy, but that did not make things right. She discovered this when she was around twenty four years old. Her tribe had their target; another tribe of raiders and thieves, to be cut down by the man. All of the orcs in her tribe envisioned that their enemies were nothing but chaotic, evil beings that deserved nothing less than death. So they attacked, and showed no mercy. Until at one moment, as Sheo cut down a bandit, she noticed children among the corpses. She had first thought that they were slaves, brought by the bandits for evil purpose. But the truth was much worse; they were the bandit's children. And they too, were being cut down, as some tried to seek vengeance for their slain parents, while others were simply caught in the crossfire. Sheo managed to save only one, a elven baby, and left the battlefield with it.

Since than Sheo had decided that she would leave her tribe and search for her own meaning to fight. She felt that her people, the orcs, as well intentioned as they were, had no direction and only a passion that made them blind to the whole picture. She could not claim that she was more enlighten however, so with her child in tow she began to explore the world and discover what life really was. A large, varied world, full of various perceptions and colors. There was more than just black and white. There was red, green, yellows, and fuchsia. That and many more. Sheo changed, in a way. While she took up drinking as a hobby, she became to learn the arts. She was bad at them, but she did not let that stop her. She took up metal working, wood carving, stone cutting, and dabbled in many others whenever possible. She would still fight against evil, but she no longer sought to simply kill for the greater good. She tried to do good in other ways, to prevent evil and create understanding rather than assumptions. It did not always go well, more often than not her good deeds did not goo unpunished, but she never gave up no matter how many failures she's gone through. It's a hard, unforgiving world she lived in. But she was not about to stoop to it's level.

Personality: Sheo tries to be good, but with her range of skills, there's only so many ways she could try. She tends to deal with things head on with physical confrontation, and is as blunt and straightforward as a warhammer. Lying simply isn't something she wants to do, and often won't. If she must keep secrets she'll be silent, or simply admit that she will not be telling the truth. Despite these short comings, she won't use them as an excuse to be useless. Sheo will help, even if he lacks the skills for it, simply because someone had bothered to ask for her assistance. And who is she to say no to someone who needs it? So Sheo would often head strait into danger, fixing as many wrongs as she can get to, with her own creative flare that could either be detrimental or beneficial. Sheo herself can be a rather understanding person, though she'll also make it very clear on what she likes and dislikes about a given subject. Doesn't mean she holds any of it personal, but it may cloud her judgement, and she will admit to this. Sheo also has a tendency to not truly pick a side, either compromising or even going for alternative options. This may bring the ire of others who expect her to show her loyalty, as she values the freedom over unity.

Skills: Born as a warrior, Sheo is a skilled fighter. Specifically, unarmed combat and archery. She's also handy with a dagger, though she prefers blades with more chopping force behind them. Sheo has touched upon a wide variety of craft skills, the most prominent being metal working. She's currently looking into this "Technology" thing and seeing where she can go with it.

Equipment:
For weapons, Sheo has a large serrated knife, her bow and arrows, and her own hands. She's called the "Axe-Fist" because her punches feels a lot like getting hacked with axes, and the damage shows. She also has some steel armor covering various parts of her body. She used to have a full set, but she's lost them over the years and hasn't bothered to make herself a new set. She also has a mount, a large boar she calls "Truffles". She also carries a flask containing a creature known as a "Wine Worm", which can produce a near infinite amount of alcohol so long as it gets a little bit of water every now and than.

Bio:
Born into a poor immigrant family that had just moved to Ventus in hopes of restarting their life. Her early life was a hard one, like so many others of the world. She grew up in the streets of one the larger cities of the land. In the streets, learned how to fight and how to assert her own dominance. Though through her early childhood to early teenage years, she became sort of the watchdog of the gangs, often protecting those who could not protect themselves. On the home front, life was hard. Her mother died in a factory accident and her father was sent into a emotional spiral. He struggled to get over his addiction to alcohol for the sake of his only daughter, but soon died from withdraw symptoms when Katherine was thirteen. With little hope for a better life, Katherine tried to make the best of her situation on the streets. She did odd jobs of cleaning and maintaining some the aircraft from the nearby port, but never made any real money. One day when Katherine was fourteen, she came across a well dressed boy being kidnapped in an ally by a masked man. She quickly responded and attacked the masked man, surprising him with a rusty shiv stuck into his shoulder blades. He, of course, let go of the boy and slowly turned to face his attacker, only to receive an unexpected blow to the head. Katherine gave one good stomp on the man's head before yanking the knife out and offering a hand to the terrified boy. He shakily took it. Katherine ran, towing the boy behind her until they were far away from the ally where the man had attacked.

"Sorry about that.... I had to act fast. Are you okay? Nothing badly hurting?"

"Ye...yeah..... I'm okay....Who... who are you?"

"I'm Katherine! Nice to meet you. And you?"

"Ralph... Ralph Pyrite Ventus.... Thank you."

"Don't mention it."

When Katherine suggested that she walk home with him, Ralph was hesitant, but eventually gave in. As they walked, Ralph became more and more curious about Katherine's life and being the open person she was, she happily told him what he wanted to know, both good and bad. Eventually they arrived at Ralph's home where Katherine learned why he wore nice clothes. Ralph was the first born son of a noble family. While not as high as other families in Ventus, they still held considerable political power. From then on, Katherine and Ralph became good friends. Thanks to Ralph and his very grateful family, Ventus was able to come over every day and educate herself on whatever she wanted as was her request. There she learned all sorts of things, particularly flying and sailing. She became fascinated with adventuring around the world and she and Ralph thought up of all sorts of different ways they could tour the world. Though as they grew older, they began to spend less and less time together. Ralph often was out of town due to family or learning the ropes of the political world leaving Katherine alone for many weeks. By the time Katherine was eighteen, Ralph's family had to move as they were given a special position in the capital. Katherine thought she would never see her friend again and said her final goodbyes.

For her early adulthood she got a full time job of being a mercenary, often protecting parties willing to pay. On her 21st birthday however, she received a special visit. On that day, there was a knock on her door. Grabbing her pistol, she cautiously approached the door.

"Who is it?"

"An old friend of course."

Katherine's eyes widen and she quickly holstered the pistol and opened the door. Before her was Ralph and two body guards. As it turned out, he had come to visit to give her a present, as thanks for being his friend for so long. As a special gift, Ralph gave her the keys to a large, long range seaplane and made her promise that she would do the adventuring for him as he was now the head of his family and could not go out to see the world in the way she could. With that promise she set out her new seaplane almost the very next day, all of the flying, sailing, and living on the ship coming oddly natural to her... like it was meant that way. To this day, she flies to place to place, often getting mercenary/bounty jobs to pay for her needs.

Personality:
Katherine is a kind, straightforward individual that doesn't like to BS around. She's fairly intelligent, sarcastic, and always likes to ask questions to learn more. However she is an adventurer at heart, with a love of flying through the air and seeing the world. This girl, like many, has a dark side to herself. Put in the right spot, she will be dark, and cruel in any sort of fight, often fighting chaotically and with little to no sense of "honor" thanks to her days on the streets. All in all she's just trying to make it through life the best way possible.
Skills:
-Fighting Dirty-
-Being Practical when Needed-
-Flying Aircraft-
-Laying down the hurt with the rifle-
-Not Being a Dick-

Equipment:
A semi automatic rifle that fires powerful 7.62mm rounds both regular and armor piercing if need be
A six shot .45 revolver
A big ass Knife (fixed blade, 8 inches)
A trench tool(a pickaxe and shovel in one!)
Various items aboard her Seaplane
Her Mk 10 Amphibious Aircraft nicknamed the "Stingray"

Other:
A little about the "Stingray". It's roughly the size of a small yacht internally and isn't too big externally besides it's wingspan. On board Katherine has a bunk, a small stove, a few crates with food, water, and other items. She has made a few modifications to the aircraft, such as a better, more efficient engine and has tools on board for quick field repairs. It's propelled by a Mk 7 MJ Songbird Rune Engine, a compact rune engine that needs to refuel less often than earlier models, but suffers from poor performance when pushed to the limit.
