I've had some of those thoughts.

So far, my ideas for dealing with the Goleyeith have been:

Toss a dead person full of explosives for the Goleyeith to eat.
Have a small R/C car or something with explosive on it for the Goleyeith to eat.
Land a building on the Goleyeith.
Purify and purge the Goleyeith with fire.
Someone act as bait, really really fast bait, and run the Goleyeith away.
Tame the Goleyeith over a very long period of time by feeding it people.
