Jerid stepped neatly in line. He had barely slept that night but wasn't planning to show it. It had taken quite some time to open up the stitches with nothing but his nails, take out the scalpel and needle, then sew the wound back up again with a hair. The result was quite neat in the end. though it had taken him quite some time to do it all tracelessly. not to mention clean up all the blood. With all the work, rush and pain he hadn't had a moment's rest. His little backup plan was hidden in the hollow metal bars the bed was made off. No one would ever find it, but it took a while to retrieve. The little time he had spared for sleep had been wasted on thinking of a better spot. But besides all that there was a slight drop of hope that drove Jerid forward. He had a plan of sorts. Today was the day for making new friends.
