She is hardworking and passionate about her work. Enthusiastic but still reserved, she is socially outgoing and communicates well with others. She is not a person that dwells on the past; instead follows the philosophy of “what’s done is done,” and more easily moves on from things than others. When she’s not busy with work, Lyna would be as laid back as you’d expect her to be. She would slouch down on a couch, with her feet on Tobie as a footrest, drinking lemonade while reading a book. Her persona does not fit the example expected of a high-ranking military officer; indeed, she was not promoted for her character or combat achievements, but for her engineering abilities and through familial connections. Even so, she does her best to provide a figure for the people under her to look up to, and is quite open to advice from all people. As the commander of a small engineering corps in the capital, she is the master of the multi-task. She is a very hands-on type of person, preferring to go about and deal with things personally rather than issue orders from high up in the command chain. While she is popular with the lesser engineers and the people in the factories and labs, her staff officers are none too amused by her tendency to bypass their authority in the chain. Equipment: Swiss Hunting Rifle– “I don't have a bottle opener, but I do have a gun.” The culmination of Lyna’s gunmaking technique. By all appearances, this wooden firearm is an antique from the early days of Donian gunsmithing. The look and feel of the weapon harkens back to the days where guns held more finesse, while packing quite the modern punch. Being a “sleeper” weapon of sorts, nearly every single part of this weapon is handcrafted and fitted with the most modern luxuries available to the enterprising Donian inventor. It even has a built in clock and a bottle opener, perfect for sitting back and having a beer while picking people off from kilometers away. If handled by a skilled marksman, this well-crafted gun can effectively hit a target up to three kilometers, more, if augmented by external forces. With the addition of a bayonet, it can be used in nearly all ranges of combat. It has enough force to punch through all but the thickest of metal armor, and has a magazine of five rounds. Tobie A toolbot, or Tobie, as affectionately named by Lyna, is the little mech that makes everything happen. Tobie is a small robot with a simple AI. It was made with the sole purpose of storing equipment and following Lyna around like a slave. Tobie uses a special compression algorithm derived from an earlier experimental “compact missile” concept to make efficient, mobile storage of tools, gadgets, and materials possible for its user. It is still in a beta stage of development and ability, but has already become an essential part of Lyna engineering portfolio. Ability/Magic/Technology: Manu Artificum Ever since Lyna was young, she displayed an extraordinary talent at any skill of the hand that requires fine precision to execute. If something requires fine motor skills, she can do it. Talents such as clock-making, gunsmithing, lockpicking, and marksmanship come naturally to her. While she naturally cannot do things she hasn’t learned to do, it would only be a matter of time for her to be able to master something that would fall under the scope of her ability. An accomplished artisan, Lyna one of the more well-known engineers in Doniaeth. The Enterprising Inventor Ideas, designs, stories, and all sorts of things tumble from Lyna’s creative consciousness. She loves to create, develop, and come forth with solutions, and many of these things work. Her ideas are not as grand as some of the engineering geniuses in the Donian nation; she prefers to work to improve on given concepts or existing technology instead of pioneering cutting edge giant death robots as some of her more famous counterparts do. Her fighting strength predominantly centers on defense and reciprocating attacks via all the things that she spins together. With devices such as deflector shields, "bombs" that can warp and fold space, and precision guided weapons that can fold and fit into the space of a coat pocket, and her magical ability, she is a force not to be trifled with. Physical Techniques Truthfully, Lyna has no predefined “fighting style” or a set of unique “techniques.” She uses her common sense and knowledge of tactics to get what needs to be done. In battle, everything is situational, and sticking with a predetermined set of techniques or battle plans does not often produce the most desirable outcome. With that said, she generally predisposed to long-range combat. With her excellent marksmanship skills, her abilities are best used at range rather than in close-quarters engagements. Strengths Marksmanship. Most of her abilities center around or improve long-range combat accuracy. Engineering. Asides from creating quality-of-life improvements, she can repair weapons, equipment, and structures on the fly. The same goes for creating them. Tactics. Lyna is good at figuring out to get things done at individual levels. Weaknesses Close-quarters combat. While she may be geared for such engagements, Lyna would be unlikely to last long against somebody like a seasoned swordsman without backup. Strategy. Her rank precedes her ability; she may be good at figuring out how to get things done, but not necessarily in what needs to be accomplished to achieve a broader goal. Endurance. Lyna has a desk job at the capital. Do you think she has very good endurance? Field Experience. She hasn’t been on an active battlefield in two years.
