Yokota Air Base 8:30 was way too early for most sane persons to be up, about and chipper Leona Ramirez decided. Hence why Spoon was already bouncing around outside of her room egging her to get ready. The excitable young man had barged into the female barracks with all the subtlety he was renown for and banged on her door until she woke up, ignoring the glares cast his way by the other soldiers. Officially they were guests, the British soldiers on exchange in Japan to test out new systems along with the rest of their platoon and as a ‘honored guest’ Spoon was not unceremoniously kicked out. Yet. If the banging continued he might very well be. “Yeah yeah gimme a minute.” she grumbled as she headed for her shower. “Hurry it up then, even the nig is done and ready.” Spoon replied agitated. “Thought we had a free day today.” Leona commented as soon as she was done. Spoon nodded, his dog tags jingling. “Exactly! We got the entire city to explore and fok all time to do it in so we’d better hurry. Come on come on! Forget mess breakfast, we’re getting REAL scoff. Genuine jap snap.” he said with an excited glint in his brown eyes. The sound of a deep, sonorous voice turned his expression into one akin to a child caught with his hand in the cookie jar. “So. Wot’s all this then?” sergeant Colton Thoroughgood said, arms crossed as he stood in the doorway very much like the brick wall he was built as. Behind him the blond hair of Arthur Pipkin could just barely be seen poking over the man’s shoulder. The young man gave an apologetic look to Spoon meant to convey that he had tried and failed to stall Thoroughgood. Spoon gave Arthur a resigned nod. “Erm, we’re getting in among the locals sir?” Spoon tried to appease the older sergeant. “Truly? Sounds like an excellent idea lance corporal. Does this intent extends to your current position and behaviour?” “No sir?” Spoon replied. Leona reflected that all in all getting up early was worth watching Spoon get an earful about barging into the female barracks unannounced. 9:00 Shibuya Mall "So... where are we going to eat anyway?" Leona asked once the four of them eventually got to town. Dressed in simple civilian clothing they could almost pass for a normal bunch of tourists, bar the dog tags each wore around their necks. “Supposedly they have this traditional restaurant around here, one of the japs gave me a map.” Spoon replied and started to fumble around with the object in question. “You can read Japanese?” Thoroughgood remarked. “Erm. No sir.” Spoon admitted sheepishly. “One second.” Arthur remarked. “So what good does that thing do us then?” Thoroughgood said as he gestured to the map. “I do know what wriggly bits match up with ‘restaurant’ so really it shouldn’t be that much of an issue. All we gotta do is match up wriggly bits with street names and then bam, Bob’s your uncle.” Spoon defended himself. “Or we could just wait for Sprog to finish asking the locals.” Leona interjected. Both men looked up from the map to where Arthur approached a pair of local girls. “I’m terribly sorry get me directions old restaurant please?” he said in broken Japanese. Between his flannel and jeans combination, apparent poor grasp of the local language and his innocently curious expression, Leona expected a storm of giggles any second.
