Okay, so as I understand, he's going with the Empire and is planning to help them but doesn't really have any sort of allegiance to them. He's just looking to get paid. Is that correct?

I think that should be fine, I love the idea of the characters having already formed bonds. Also, regarding Rin's picture, I took it to mean that it was only the clothes she was showing off. For example, in my character sheet, the picture for "casual attire" depicts a red-skinned race, likely a Zabrak, but Djezalia's features are more human (as evidenced by her appearance pic).
