[b]History:[/b] Umbra became the Lord of the Children of the Shadow over the last thirteen years when the Necromancers discovered their temple and burned it to the ground. A mere handful of followers managed to survive the onslaught and they gathered under Umbara who took on the title of Lord to lead this order of twenty sorcerers. He found them a mansion near a Mortal settlement where they could live in peace, the Necromancers would not dare to turn up considering the current tensions between Mortals and Magicians and at the same time the Children of Shadow agreed to help the small town of Roarhaven with any issues they might have from animal control to brigands. The rest of his history goes back Further. Umbara was raised as a mage in the Temple from a very young age, he appeared to have aptitude for it as when he was little he managed to wield the shadows without even practicing with a weapon of power, this natural aptitude when found by the Necromancers made him a priority target, as if he was in their hands he could bring about the doom to merge the two worlds however if he managed to train in the Children of Shadow he could become a weapon that would almost undoubtedly be used against them and their ways. As such he was treated with care and rarely left the temple, of course by the time he reached his teen years this became a bit of an issue and with the level of magic he possessed he often broke out to go for walks in the country. It was during one of these walks he met a young woman, and very typically fell in love. Despite when they aged it did not show on him but it was seen on her he still cared for her immensely, by the time he was forty he looked the same as he did at 22 however she had actually aged. This is when she was used against him, the Necromancers had long learned that he was in fact the most powerful of the Shadowmancers and felt that he was the main threat with attacking the Shadowmancer temple so felt to take him out of the equation would balance the sides. She was taken prisoner and when he finally managed to battle his way to her they killed her in front of his eyes. Hoping that his ability to tap into the Nether he would bring her back proving that he could bridge the gap between the two worlds. It failed, and all it did was infuse a rage upon him and he even managed to repel the attack against the Temple. Though drawing as much and binding his body inadvertently to the Nether has left his flesh grayed and his eyes blackened, which add to the burns on his face to give him a ghastly look. Once the temple was safe he rose up to join the Council of Elders in command of the Children. When the war broke out decades later between Wizards and Mortals they were some of the few trying to broker peace between the two divisions. He and a small band of people, eighteen, were on a diplomatic mission when the Necromancers assisted by other mages attacked the temple, those who did not want the war to end. It was decimated and only he and some others survived, many others wanted him to take the fight to those who wiped out their order however the first thing he did was ensure that they had a home to go to. A town he knew well, from the original temple. Roarhaven, took him in. An old Manor house that used to belong to someone he cared about acted as their new home and in return for their sanctuary they aided the town against Brigands and rogue mages who sought to damage the town. The whole time he had a personal struggle, having drawn so much on the Nether he had become more of a conduit and average shadows reacted to his presence willingly or not. Now he lives his life in seclusion, trying to convince mages that their future lies in protecting the mortals and fading into myth and legend and act as their silent Guardians. [b]Weapons:[/b] Shadow, wielded from a metal ring however to deceive others this ring is placed inside a cane that can still be wielded as the same.
