The Reynes can trace back their lineage almost as far back as the Lannisters, and there are even stories that claim that the Reynes came into existence as a cadet branch of the Lannisters, much like the Karstarks to the Starks. This could be supported by the fact that both brandish lions on their banners as well as the vast amounts of wealth and power possessed by the Reynes, second only to their golden overlords. Regardless, there is no other evidence that this is true, and many deny it all together, especially the Lannisters, much to the chagrin of the Reynes. In relation to the Lannisters of Casterly Rock, House Reyne has remained the second most powerful house in the Westerlands, largely due to their large abundance of gold mines, which have made the Reynes great and the Lannisters greater. However, it is no secret that the two lions have been at odds with each other for generations, to such a point there has been a deep rivalry between the two houses that has lasted for years. These tensions finally came to a head during the Blackfyre Rebellion when Ser Quentyn Ball, with the aid of Ser Robb Reyne, delivered disastrous defeats to the Lannisters. Like the rebellion that they supported, the Battle of Redgrass Field proved disastrous to the Reynes. Lord Randyll Reyne and his brother Ser Richard Reyne would lose their lives in that battle. With another brother, Ser Robb Reyne, a formidable swordsman of much renown, would flee across the Narrow Sea with Bittersteel and many of Daemon's sons. The momentous task of assuming the lordship of Castamere would fall to the youngest brother, who was only a boy of 12 years. His young age possibly allowed Castamere from a worse fate from siding with the rebellion. What resulted was heavy penalties that cut directly into the Reyne wealth and confiscation of some very significant gold mines. Despite this, through through underhanded deals and general ruthlessness, Lord Rory Reyne has reacquired the mines that the Lannisters didn't personally confiscated, and is still seeking to regain those lost assets of House Reyne. Although obviously wounded from the war, House Reyne managed to rise from the conflict like a phoenix from the ashes. No, much of what developed him into the man that he is today was the direct result of his own personal drive, and partial influence from his brothers, and his time as a ward at the Arbor. Upon assuming the lordship at the young age of 12, Rory has proven to be unexpectedly intelligent, cunning, and ruthless, no doubt caused by being thrust in the political sphere at such a young age. Even so, it seems as if he almost thrives in it, and it quickly became apparent that he was a much more competent and a better lord than any of his brothers could ever hope to be- even Robb, who had few talents aside from those pertaining to warfare. He values efficiency first and foremost, directly resulting in an even higher gold output than before the Rebellion. In the recent years, Rory has butted heads with Tybolt Lannister on more than one occasion, especially over the mines taken from his lands after the Rebellion. Unlike many others of his house, he is often cool and solemn, however, even he possesses what could be considered a legendary temper when provoked. He takes care where he places his “pieces” especially in relation to others, which is no doubt a huge contributing factor of how successful he has been since becoming a lord. There's truth than many see him as cruel or heartless, but this isn't entirely true. He holds on dearly to the people that he cares, even if that happens to be very few at the present moment. Biography: Being the fourth son of the reigning lord of Castamere, Rory was submitted to the prestige, pride, and wealth of any other son born into House Reyne. Still, no one imagined great deeds from him, considering he was overshadowed by his brothers, especially Robb, who were much older than him. His vast intellect was recognized early on, mostly by his mother, who was Lord Reyne's second wife, and Rory was her only child. She often kept him close, for better or for worse, and Rory grew largely outside the influence of his lord father, who had been well-respected and regarded at the time. As he read and learned out of his own volition, he was partly forced to train with a sword by his brother Robb, who would later become one of the most skilled swordsmen in all of Westeros. Out of all his brothers, Rory had liked Robb the most. Always grinning, it was no surprise that he was able to get his younger brother to develop his swordsmanship so quickly. Although he had hated it at first, it wasn't long before he started to enjoy it almost as much as learning the various histories of Westeros, mostly within the dusty tomes that the maester had shown him. The death of his father was still significant to Rory, despite the neglect that had been given to him his entire childhood. As it so happened, his father had been good friends with Lord Arron Redwyne, no doubt a result of the multitude of business deals between the two men. As it so happened, it seemed that before his sudden illness, he was in the process of sending Rory to ward at the Arbor, it was a proper fit, especially since Lord Redwyne's youngest son was the same age as Rory. Such an act proved that his father showed some kind of interest towards Rory, no matter how small, and so, wanting to keep to his father's last wishes, Rory's eldest brother, Randyll, sees Rory off to the Arbor. Once at the Arbor, it hardly took Rory long to become quick friends with Emmon Redwyne, who were both similar in wit and cunning to Rory. Rory and Emmon's exploits no doubt made it a living hell for Lord Arron and others who took up residence at the Arbor. As for Rory's brothers, they were all young, stupid and ready for glory. This, of course, proved to be a recipe for disaster. Randyll was the worst of them in regards to this, he was the eldest and inherited Castamere. He proved to be easily enchanted by Daemon Blackfyre's supposedly “righteous” cause, although he was mostly persuaded by Robb, who was friends with Fireball and Bittersteel. Through Lord Randyll's support, much Reyne gold was pumped into the rebellion. Under the command of Ser Robb Reyne, Castamere levies met up with Ser Quentyn Ball and dealt the Lannisters the most crushing defeat in a hundred years. However, with the announcement of Rory as a ward of the Redwynes, his brothers had no choice but to withdraw their forces for the rest of the rebellion, up until the Battle of Redgrass Field. Along with the opening volley that had killed Ser Quentyn Ball, Ser Richard Reyne also found and arrow in his throat, much to the horror of Ser Robb Reyne, who would go on to fight like no other living man. Still, his efforts would be in vain when Lord Randyll received a Dornish spear in his gut. Thereby, technically making Robb the new lord of Castamere, though that would be shortlived. At the battle's conclusion, Robb escaped with with Bittersteel and fled in exile, forever giving up any claim to Castamere, and promoting the fourth, forgotten son to the lordship. Though he was "obligated" to stay at the Arbor for a number of more years, Rory didn't hate it, largely due to his friendship with Emmon Redwyne. His discontent was noticeable, of course, and after touring Westeros and parts of Essos with Emmon, they parted ways and Rory returned to Castamere. From all accounts, he was a changed man, and used every ounce of his ability to make sure to raise his house back from the ashes, and in doing so, secured several of his confiscated gold mines from neighboring houses, though the ones directly in the care of the Lannisters still remain out of his grasp. Still, Rory's innate talent for rule has been noted, and Castamere has definitely prospered because of it. As the third richest man in Westeros, he is well known amongst the elite circles, for if it isn't Lannister or Tyrell gold funneling through something, then it will surely be the gold of Castamere. Being unmarried, however, he is interested in finding a wife, even though he's hasn't displayed an interest in doing so before, but due to his duty to birth a resurgence of his house, he sees it as his duty to do so.

Name: Ser Robb Reyne Age: 36 Appearance: Personality: Robb is an extremely likeable and carefree man, making friends easily, and gaining enemies very rarely. However, since the Battle of Redgrass Field, in which he witnessed two of his brothers die before him, he has become much more reserved than he was in the past. Before the Rebellion, Robb has famous for being reckless and having a hot temper, which tends to be common with most male Reynes. In addition to this, he finds himself most at peace in the heat of battle, and even before the war, he was well-known as being one of the finest swordsmen in the Seven Kingdoms, and his skill in arms has served him well during his extended exile. He no longer seems to have the same level of arrogance and cockiness about him, although he still has the habit of underestimating his opponents, which would be a fatal error for a normal man, but less so for Robb considering that there are only a few men alive that could best him in single combat. Robb loved his brothers wholeheartedly, and had a fondness for his youngest brother, Rory, who briefly squired for him before the war. Biography: Being a third son, it seemed extremely unlikely that he would ever inherit. Maybe because of this, he was given more time to pursue things of his own interests. Regardless, his almost unnatural skill for arms was noted by the master-at-arms and his father early on, and he quickly became his father's favorite son. It was almost as if he had been born swinging a sword, for he had no trouble besting his older brothers and older boys at Castamere. Although some resentment grew between the brothers during this time, it was short-lived because of Robb's carefree attitude. When he was old enough, he was sent to squire for Ser Lester Crakehall, a decent tourney knight in his youth, whose glory days had obviously long passed. Even so, Robb proved to be extremely capable in his duties, and went through everything that was required of him until he was formally knighted at the young age of 16. By this time, Robb's father, Lord Raynard, had a custom suit of armor crafted for Robb, something that not even Randyll, the eldest, had received. His first tourney win was at the very tournament his father had held the commemorate Robb in receiving his knighthood. As many other older, and what should have been more experienced, knights promptly fell in defeat before Robb, it became incredibly clear how proficient Robb truly was. He preferred fighting style tends to be lightning fast and aggressive, usually beating his opponents into submission quickly and efficiently. A very competent swordsmen could possibly exploit this into a weakness, proving that even the greatest of swordsmen have noticeable weaknesses. Though he had grown close to all his brothers over his life, he found himself present at Kingslanding and Lannisport often, and eventually became fast friends with Ser Quentyn Ball, who was the master-at-arms of the Red Keep. This friendship would prove significant later on, as he became acquainted with Bittersteel and Daemon Blackfyre directly through Ball. Before the rebellion, Robb found himself in both the service of the king and the Lannisters, routinely routing out bandits and highway men. His exploits would only gain him fame and renown throughout the seven kingdoms. As the rebellion officially began, it was Robb who convinced his oldest brother, Lord Randyll, to support the rebels, no doubt partially a result of him being active with the planning process of the rebellion. Proving successful, he raised the levies of Castamere, and linked up with Ser Quentyn Ball, eventually pounding the Lannisters into near submission, and for these deeds, he still possesses a sinister reputation amongst several noble houses in the Westerlands. However, he wasn't present for Ball's campaign near the Mander, of which he had to withdraw due to his youngest brother existing as a hostage of the Redwynes. Regardless of this, a final push was still made right before Redgrass. Finally, just before the Battle of Redgrass Field, Robb watched Randyll die to the volley of arrows that also killed Ball. This enraged him to the point where he seemed to be almost unstoppable on the battlefield, ripping through enemy soldiers. Despite his best efforts, his other brother, Richard, would take a Dornish spear in the belly, thereby temporarily promoting Robb to Lord of Castamere. This would prove to be very shortlived. Regardless of Bittersteel's brave charge into Bloodraven's archers, the battle had been essentially lost with Daemon's death. Morale dissipated into nothing, and the day was won by Baelor Breakspear and Bloodraven. Managing to escape with Bittersteel, Robb fled in exile to Essos, where he would join various sellsword companies until the Golden Company was formed. Despite it being his birthright, Robb has little interest in Castamere, and would rather be appointed to a newly formed Kingsguard, should the day come where one of Daemon's sons are placed upon the Iron Throne.
