There was quite a lot of noise. The creature could feel it on the surface of the metal, as it crawled over it's surface. Eight long, hairy legs moved with lightning speed, as the creature moved over the surface of the door, examining the group with it's many eyes. It was a massive spider, a king among it's kind. It's throbbing body was the size of a man's hand, not counting it's long, spindly legs which stretched out to all sides. It's chitinous armor, as well as it's small puffs of fur, were jet black, as if made of obsidian, interrupted only by it's blood red eyes, and a strange mark on it's back. A symbol in the brightest of reds, seemingly in the form of a single drop. It was a symbol that distinguished the creature from it's harmless cousins in the arachnid kingdom. The creature couldn't be seen. It was invisible, to all but Elysia. Slowly, avoiding blasts of flame, it crawled down over the floor as it found the leg of a girl, the one whom it had been tasked with taking down. Slowly, it's large, hooked claws reached up, careful not to break skin as all feeling was muted in the girl's leg. As the massive spider crawled up, taking it's time, nothing could be felt. Black fur tickled flesh, and nothing was noticed, as it crawled up the girl's back. Had the creature been capable of smiling, it would have smiled, as it set it's throbbing black body at her neck. It pulled it's head back, it's teeth glistening brightly in the reflected light, before it plunged down. Two small holes in the back of the neck, the bleeding stopped instantly, and nobody would notice a thing. Hundreds of eyes peered through the eyes of the creature, an intelligence far off and far more powerful than the feeble spider. Had these fools not already been muted, they would have heard the thrumming of tiny feet. They would have heard the soft chirping sounds, made by those who know they need not hide. Hundreds of black spiders, ranging from the size of a man's head to the size of a walnut, crawled over the floor, rushing towards their targets, a black swarm that would not be seen, as they muted the legs of their targets, as they started to latch on to legs, ready to crawl up. Each and every spider, among these large black masses, bore a single mark, the mark imprinted on their back. The mark of Kami, and the Citadel of Tears.
