In the 5th century, there was man named Alexander Corvinus. He was the first immortal and to our knowledge, he is the only immortal. His sons, William and Marcus were infected, becoming immortals of a different kind. Marcus for the better and William, for the worse. Marcus was infected by the bite of a bat, turning him into the species we are today. Vampires. Our abilities are only restricted by our weakness to sunlight. Even the smallest ray will burn our skin, leaving us in a pile of ashes upon the ground. We are stronger than humans, more agile, faster and more lethal. We heal faster than humans. A cut heals within hours for us. We are the superior species.
What happened to WIlliam you may ask? He was bitten by a wolf, becoming the first werewolf. Sounds nice doesn't it? In fact, it is not. William became a dangerous pest, his hunger was insatiable, and every human he bit turned into the same beast. They can smell a warm body over one hundred miles away, and hear a leaf fall to the soft ground. In my studies I have found their eyesight is superior to ours, but to what extent I am unsure. They are stronger than we are, faster than we are. Then why are we the superior species? Werewolves cannot control themselves. They have a bloodlust that is never quenched. It makes them vulnerable, out of control and weak.
We enslaved them, using their strength to build our walls and their ability to withstand the sunlight to protect us while we slept. They were dangerous, and revolting. When my mother was bitten, becoming the first hybrid between Vampire and Werewolf, I was fascinated. I wanted to keep her alive, to study her, see if she could be saved, but she was killed before I could do anything. Still I searched for a way that I could have saved her. I started with the werewolves. I performed tests upon them. Testing their blood, their saliva, everything. They were animals, but they were fascinating animals. When a human child was born of a werewolf, a new species emerged. Lycans. Equally dangerous and fascinating creatures. Able to shift between human and Lycan form and less dangerous than their werewolf ancestors. This intrigued me. When more were born or made, I abducted them, faked their deaths to make them disappear and brought them down to my secret lab. I also abducted a few humans, easy enough, wolves, and a few werewolves. My vampire abductee is myself. I have abducted a few humans, turned them into vampires, using their blood as well.
I have so much to study, still so much to learn, but I fear my subjects are becoming restless. They have tried to escape, making my experiments known. The vampires were taken from me, the others almost destroyed. When they saw everything I had accomplished, namely the few who are resistant to sunlight, they let me live. That and the fact that my father is respected among those old wind bags. Any further experiments on vampires have to have willing subjects. I suppose that eases my mind, but our kind are so protective of their blood. It holds our memories. Any who are turned with it will see our lives as if they had lived it themselves. This is why I was doing my experiments in secret.
We are experiments, living underneath the city, held by this madman, or rather inquisitive fellow, Leo, who I will be playing. Escapes have been attempted, and they failed. There is only one way out of the lab, right through the city. Can it be done? Sure. Has it been done successfully? No. However, with the latest attempted escape, Leo's experiments have been discovered. After much groveling, Leo is still alive and his experiments are still on going. The Lycan subjects have been forced to work. The vampires have been pulled from the lab and given housing within the city. They are treated as equals. The hybrids or scientific abominations, have been left in the lab. They were supposed to be killed, but Leo protected his experiments, no one knows they exist, except for the other experiments, Leo and his assistant(s).
Well, you have the setting and the circumstances, as for the plot, the experiments would escape and avoid capture, but for a while we will be inside the city, planning an escape, perhaps the vampire experiments will try to free the lycans that are being kept as slaves. Perhaps they become brainwashed by everyone else, thinking the lycans and hybrids are freaks of nature and are only good for labor. -shrugs- This will be largely character driven, we're just gonna have some fun.
Kinds of experiments
Deviant or Les Ames Soeurs(Kindred Spirits/Soulmates)
These are a little new to the mix. They are first wolves, who have ingested or have been injected with the blood of a Lycan. They have three forms, Wolf, Werewolf, and Human. They are immune to Silver.
Super Vampire(genetically made only at this point)
These vampires have been genetically altered to be able to withstand the sunlight. However, it hasn't be perfected yet. They can only stand directly in the sun for a few moments. If left too long their blood begins to boil and their insides are essentially cooked. Their sense are better than normal vampires, but they have to consume more blood. They also have two forms. One is the normal form, the other is something like a monster. Their skin turns a pale blue, their fingernails grow and sharpen like claws and they grow large, leathery wings. Their eyes turn black and their fangs descend half an inch. Their feet and hands become webbed and they can use both to grab things. While in this form only their wings are completely immune to the sunlight.
Hybrid (2 characters max)
A mix of any two species mentioned above or below. These are immune to Silver and Sunlight, essentially unstoppable.
Lycan
These characters would have originally been human, turned by Leo.
Vampire
These characters would have originally been human, turned by Leo.

Welp, there it is, what do y'all think?
