Maiko saw the Konoha ninja bring a girl to the Hokage and he knew that they had captured a Jinchūriki, he recognized her from the meeting. this meant that their mission was discovered and he was sure that if he didn't do something, the girl would most definitely be executed.

just then he heard Seranai come from behind him, [i]"Maiko... They got a Jinchūriki... What do we do?"[/i]

he looked at her and replied, "the only way to save her is to break our cover and I am sure that they know about her and the rest of us spying so I say we fight, are you ready? because i have a plan."

Maiko knew she was new to being a Jinchūriki which was why his plan would have her do the easy part and he would do the hard part. he hoped that she would be up for it.
