Tyler Ross had the world on a string. He was about to sign a ten year service contract with Langston Hawthorne. One of the wealthiest men on the planet had hired Tyler Ross to be his personal security consultant for his businesses, estates, and other "assets" (such as his luxury yacht and his his private island). Langston was indebted to Tyler for finding several missing stones of his while he was visiting former Ambassador to Ireland Dan Rooney. Langston was so impressed with the way Tyler was able to conduct the investigation and solve everything discreetly that Langston hired him on the spot. Tyler didn't view Langston as just a rich jerk who was just buying someone because he could, but Tyler got to know Langston during the investigation and was impressed with the way he treated those around him. Whether it was Ambassador Rooney or the bell hop Langston made them feel like they were the most important person in the world. Kind of like Mr. Rogers except he had Bill Gates' bank account. Meeting Langston kept replaying in Tyler's mind as the plane he was on was in a nose dive. Langston insisted Tyler take his private jet, but Tyler felt that if he was on the jet then the staff would be ready for him. Tyler wanted to surprise everyone just by showing up and getting down to work. If Tyler had known then what he knew now Tyler would've gladly taken Langston up on his offer. This regret was the last thing to cross Tyler's mind as he said The Lord's Prayer and then Hail-Marys. Then the world that Tyler had known was suddenly engulfed in smoke, broken glass, screaming, flames, but no bright peaceful light welcoming him home. It could've been minutes, hours, or even days for all Tyler knew, but he opened his eyes and tried to stand-up. He discovered he couldn't mainly because he was still strapped into the seat. Tyler shook his head said under his breath, "Wow I hope the people at MENSA never find out about that. It could seriously impact my application." Tyler undid his seat belt and looked around. There was a bevy of activity going on but it was all outside of the plane. Tyler was in First Class and gently shook the woman whom he had been flirting with before all hell broke lose. He said, "Hey Erin. Are you okay? Come on Erin talk to me." Just then Erin's head went back revealing a jagged slash across her throat, and Tyler stopped moving her. He looked down at his black Armani Suit with a dark purple tie and realized Erin had bled all over his suit. Because of the dark colors it was difficult to see, but Tyler knew what happened. Tyler leaned Erin's head forward so the wound was no longer seen. He said a silent prayer for Erin and when he was done Tyler crossed himself and got out of his seat. There was a sizable piece of metal blocking the door, and with everything in him Tyler kicked the piece of metal aside and the door fell to the ground. Tyler slightly stumbled out of the plane. He looked around and was grateful he wasn't the only one alive. Tyler shook his head and said, "Toto I don't think we're in Kansas anymore." With that Tyler began to make his way to where what appeared to be the luggage hold. Tyler decided his first order of business was to get out of his blood soaked clothes. He had some workout gear in his luggage, and figured it was time to dress practically because Tyler had a bad feeling they were here for a while.
