It's alright not to. I do the same thing when I join a RP late because I don't want my character to have ideas I've learned from reading about things she wasn't there to see. Just make sure you know where everyone is--skim for location or just ask.

She also has a pocket knife and a mini pistol in her boots. Spencer is good with close combat skills, she is also athletic and has acrobatic skills.
