Name: Karhs (aka Redmane) Age: 31 Race: Orc Appearance:
Only his helmet actually covers all his face except for the eyes. He paints the skin around his eyes in black to look more menacing and to hide the colour of his skin.

Except he’s younger and with slightly shorter black hair.
Occupation: Hired blade/mercenary, but has also been known to partake in banditry. Personality: Angry by birth and menacing by reputation, Redmane often takes advantage of people’s fears. He has been called sadistic and those who have seen him in a fight remember him most of all for his dark and booming laughter. In truth however he is not as cold hearted and selfish as people might think, and in truth you’re unlikely to come to harm from him unless you give him reason (that’s not to say he won’t treat you badly or rob you however). He is incredibly confident and likes to joke at the expense of others.
Karhs cannot remember much about his early childhood save for his own name, various visions of orc men sharpening their weapons and visions of the fire and death when he was taken away. When he was but a toddler (at least by human standards) a great host of bandits attacked and killed the orcs and took Karhs as a trophy. As a result he knew nothing of his own kind, save that they were known to be brutal, evil and barbaric, and that they were of little number. They would keep him in a cage and boast about how they killed his family. They would beat him and as he got older they would make him fight; first he would fight some of the other orc children, then once they were sold or killed, he would fight dogs, then prisoners and eventually other warriors as he got older. By the time he reached adulthood he towered over many of the men who kept him prisoner and was stronger too, but he dare not try break free for they outnumbered him greatly and he did not know (and thus feared) the word outside of his captivity. He would often ask the bandits about his people, but they would laugh and refuse to tell him anything save for the details of their death. Not long after reaching adulthood the bandits were set upon by mercenaries who had been paid by local settlements who had after long last grown tired of the bandits and grouped together to pay for a force capable of killing them (for the bandits had large numbers and couldn’t be taken easily). During the assault Karhs watched as his enslavers were butchered and felt for the first time genuine happiness; it is because of this that he would later continue to find enjoyment in battle. As the bandits withered in numbers and were drove back into the head camp they released Karhs and the other prisoners out of desperation and ordered them to fight. This was foolish however as Karhs, having already seen this coming, had plotted with the others and so they turned on the bandits themselves, slaughtering them all before then killing the mercenaries too. Taking the armour of one of the mercenaries Karhs would forever wear the intimidating helmet with its red plume, earning the infamous title of Redmane. Discovering quickly that a hatred of orcs was found everywhere, not just from his old captors, he began hiding his skin under armour and clothing and painted around his eyes so that to most he would simply appear a large hulking man in armour. For a few years he would lead the survivors and other downtrodden warriors as part of his own bandit tribe, for he knew of no other way to live. As he got older and wiser to the world and as his tribe was killed off he decided to travel solo to more civilised lands where he could make a decent living from being a hired blade.
Equipment: Full heavy armour set, a warhammer that’s seen better days and a couple of pouches of gold hidden beneath his armour. Talents/Traits: His two biggest assets are his strength and his ability to intimidate. Standing at around 6 and a half foot and being built like a tonne of bricks, Redmane has a natural combat advantage. His hard life has left him almost without fear although his bloodlust in the heat of battle can sometimes prove to be just as much of a downfall. Whilst he is a good fighter he relies too much on brute force, and whilst he isn’t slow he does lack technique. He cannot read very well either.
