"So, where'd you hide all your stuff?" "I don't have anything. I left it all back in the city." "You know, you're not the first one to tell us that. We know you've got it hidden somewhere." The dragon and gryphon were both holding him down, and the golem was there to back them up if he tried to escape. For a moment, Ralph thought he wasn't going to make it out of this alive. Even if he did have stuff on him, the scream he heard before suggested they'd killed their last victim. He then heard another voice, which lifted his spirits a little. "Hey! Let him go, he hasn't done anything!" A strange dragon-bird hybrid had emerged from the forest. He had a gun, which he pointed at the gryphon. Ralph's right wing was now free due to him letting go of it, but he was laughing for some reason. Had guns stopped working like electronics did, or were they just less effective on the creatures everyone had transformed into? He didn't have much time to think about it, because seconds later the dragon-bird pulled the trigger. The dragon immediately lunged forward, freeing Ralph's other wing. He flew upwards, only to be grabbed and thrown back to the ground. The golem was standing over him, and was about to attack again. He tried to get away, but before he could react he was thrown again, this time hitting a tree. Now, he was far enough away from the golem to fly up before being thrown again. He shot several fireballs, but they just seemed to bounce off the bronze armour.
