For those of you who are familiar with me, consider this the spiritual successor of "Retribution". For those of you who AREN'T familiar with me, my name is Cynder and I'm an old Guild member who used to be a regular here in the Free section. While here, I made a Roleplay in the Free section with a few expectations and a bit more of a complex storyline, but still a Free Roleplay nonetheless. This is basically that Roleplay: "Retribution", but with a few changes, mainly in the title, I added a new word, "Raindancer". This Roleplay is actually based on a concept-design for a story I'm working on with the name, "Raindancer: The Last Summoner". What exactly is this Roleplay? Well, let's get into explaining it then. Background Story The story of Raindancer takes place during an unknown time on an unknown planet, one that is most likely presumed to be Earth. Most of life has died out, but not for the reasons you'd expect such as pandemic or war. But actually something entirely different: snow. After the snow began to fall, it never stopped. Temperatures reached all time lows and plants slowly began dying, even in the most tropical of areas. People began to panic, there was little food left, most contact in the world was cut off and just when it seemed like they were likely to descend into madness, it only got worse. A disease began to scratch through the unstable minds of the survivors, picking at them, one by one. It began to turn them into schizophrenic monsters, nicknamed the "Static Disease" by locals, due to the fact that the first symptom of the disease introduced is hearing static. The Static Disease, on top of starvation and the cold, began to drop a high body count and for a while, most believed that it was the end for them . . . for humanity. All hope was lost. Well, that was until the remains of authority began to gather survivors up and store them underground in "compounds". .. Or at least that is how the story goes. In reality, you're not too sure. There isn't much to go on but the stories of older folks and some rare books you might find lying around. Maybe it doesn't interest you, maybe it does. It doesn't really matter. All that does matter . . is that your story is about to clash with the lives of others -- and create a screeching heap of a mess for a beginning. Your Story
You don't know much of the outside world as you were born into one of these underground compounds. Tasked, day after day with mediocre and meaningless "jobs", stuck in a building the size of a mall complex at the edge of a chasm, safe from the snow. But you might find yourself glancing at the windows sometimes, wondering what lies beneath that vast blanket of white. They've always told you: there's nothing there, nobody survived aside from this compound. We are the very last of our kind. Sometimes you wonder what it's like out there -- in "The Outside". You've heard stories of escapees who went left and never returned. But that might not scare you near as much as "The Facility" -- an area where people go when they fail to finish their work. Maybe you've begun to develop a strong ability, maybe one you're having a hard time develop. Perhaps, you are curious. Maybe, you're sick of being isolated from your family -- after all, they control where you go at all times, who you see, how you interact with them. Or maybe, you just don't give a damn, you just get caught up in it. Either way, you're here now. Out in the snow-filled wasteland thanks to a few idiot bandits and now it's your break. To flee, escape. Well, you really haven't a choice -- there'd be no turning back now.

You were born into one of the native tribes that are on "The Outside" and you know much more of it compared to Compoundees. You grew up in the snow-filled wasteland and have learned to adapt and survive. You are told not to go near the chasm, unsure of what lies there. You are also told to avoid any travelers that might come through, to drop and hide. Those gears they always use might interest you, you've heard of them before: Polar Scouting Gear. Despite your curiosity, you've always been kept under chains by your elders in fear of losing your extraordinary abilities, the elders believing that the Gods are likely to be angry with you. You had your reasons when you went along with those bandits, perhaps it was curiosity, a sense of duty or adventure, or maybe they took something of yours. Either way, you're now following them. And you're beginning to get a taste of what "The Outside" is really like.

Odds are, you don't mention where you were born. You're an outcast either way, so what does it change? You follow a pack leader, an anarchist, bandit, thief or rebel of some sort. You're also a member of the pack, treating them as your dysfunctional family. Sliding through the trees using your PGS and slashing, cutting, burning away at any Zooids you come across, you and your pack go from compound to compound to raid. You might even stop at one of the remaining villages from time to time and earn an honest day of work. You go with the wind as a true drifter, surviving for yourself or your pack. Maybe you enjoy the life, maybe you don't. It doesn't matter, all that does matter is that you're running low on supplies. Maybe it's coal for your PGS, maybe you're just hungry. So you stop off at a nearby Compound, unaware of the explosion that is set to happen...and the babysitting tasks you might end up getting.
Elements There will be a lot of elements utilized in this Roleplay On the surface, it's your average survival and free-roam Roleplay, but similar to Retribution, it does have an actual storyline. As for the elements introduced, they follow:

Explore an open, post apocalypse-world covered in snow and filled with danger foes.[/*]
Use exotic and strange technology like the Polar Scouting Gear and hyper convoluted weapons for flight and fight purposes in the world.[/*]
Pick one of three choices -- make a group of survivors, go lone wolf or try to hunt down others, the options are as high as the sky.[/*]
Use your powers to help save the day or abuse them to cause your enemies pain. The choice lies within you.[/*]
An actual storyline (wow, I know, trust me, I know these are rare in these types of Roleplays).[/*]
Find yourself face-to-face with Zooids (infected humans) and fight them. . or capture them and poke at them, the choice is yours.[/*]
Alright, I'll admit, as most, this topic is decent, but hey, what do you guys think?
