The mere mention of the word 'witch' from Tris causes Free's left hand to ball up.in a fist though it dissipates quickly. "Witches causing you trouble two" Free said to Tris implying that he has had trouble with witches.

 When Kaika got stabbed in the heart it was traumatizing for Trey who was only seventeen. He didn't even know her but he felt like he had just let a friend die without doing anything to help.
