Fenrir burst from the wreckage like a devil clawing his way up from hell, screaming and roaring, the sounds ragged like his vocal chords were strained almost to breaking, full of anger and fury and pain. The wolfman looked to be in terrible shape. His fur was matted in wet, slick, blood, either from the fight with Deathstroke or due to the roof collapsing on him. His right ear had been torn half off, now only hanging on by a loose flap of skin. His left arm was bent at an unnatural angle, the healing process already beginning to knit the bone back into its new and unwieldy shape. The worst by far though was a six inch wide broken section of steel that had speared straight through his chest, breaking two ribs and tearing through a lung, before protruding out of his back. The only time he had suffered pain like this was when he had been kept in the white rooms when the scientists had done their tests on him, eager to find out what his limits were. They had poked and prodded, stabbed and cut, all in the name of research, while Granny had overseen them all. All just to see what their new soldier could handle. The fact that he had suffered such before did not mean that he was eager to suffer it again though. The pain was almost unbearable, far too much for the man too handle. He retreated into himself, hoping that he would be able to escape the pain by burrowing deep into his sub-conscious. This left the beast in charge, and the beast was no more equipped to handle the pain than he. Worse, in fact, as now there was no intelligence to reason away the trauma. The beast could think of no answer to alleviate its suffering, other than to lash out savagely at those he believed to have caused it. A moment of searching revealed several people in close proximity, some already fallen but others were standing, surrounded by flames and destruction. Pain-crazed eyes locked on the closest was dressed in gold and blue armour, gesturing at the beast with both hands. The beast clambered out of the remnants of the rubble, spitting and snarling at every ache in his body. The beast released a blood curdling howl, charging quickly at Fate despite his wounds, intending to tear his friend apart limb from limb.
