Its a lot of complex booha I really don't know either. I think I would suggest to you looking up stuff like feats magneto has done and other superpowered beings who match your abilities and use them to understand limitations and such. I know Magneto was powerful enough to like bend light with magnets he's crazy but trying to use science explaining your powers is just hard I learned that after many failed characters.

Also for open roles and archetypes I think its more if you can get creative with your power. We still don't have a tank, magic, un or less powered person, sneaky/ninja nightcrawler/Batman. You could be a fancy pants and get like mimicry and become the wild card? Just pick your power and try to adjust into a role?
