When you're too eager for it you can sometimes give yourself away subtly in posts. Really depends on your degree of eagerness or just your personality. That might be one thing that turns people off.

But generally jumping in and participating in stuff is one way to get out there...like during a bandwagon or hatewagon or absolutely disgusting lovewagon. But also you can start a game or something fun in spam, do some sort of writing, drawing, or w/e else. Anything that's putting your energy out there for people to engage.

But now a bunch of people will ask why you care to be noticed or berate you for it, so good job posting it anon to make it sting a little less.
