Charles shouted back, pointing upstream towards the red and blue shapes that were just coming into view for them. "My guess is that [i]those[/i] are what want the children, and the little ones are just following orders. It makes me wish they didn't fight back." As he spoke, he continued fending off the attacking Kappa. "I don't think there's anything else we can do here!" he continued, "I'm going up ahead with Sophia, try to catch up if you can!" And with that he banished his staff and moved away from the river bank, putting dry land between him and the Kappa to continue running unhindered.
