Well there is no such thing such as information gathering, the closest you can get to that is being a sniffer.

Asylums aren't really trusted with information, they are merely given orders which they must carry out. The reason amro holds such an impressive hold over alchemy is because it possesses a monopoly on the information available, information that is known by very few and those that do know are often under the scrutiny of amro. 

Also the Gemellie are already there, along with several other Asylums. A few have actually gotten out of the pods and are now enjoying breakfast. And as far as the Gemellie are concerned they aren't really the type to hold meetings, they aren't your typical role model superiors. :p They are just lazy and go where ever something can curb their boredom. xD But who knows if your characters can hold an amusing conversation with them, they may return the favour. =D
