I don't get it, why would a reset be better?

Also, things tend to get smaller. Colonial fleets were much larger than the fleets we field today, it's not unreasonable to believe a similar thing would happen in space

It allows us to try new things and forget that we ever had that many ships.

WOO! INTERNET IS ON EARLY!

Okay, I'm the GM, and its gonna be a sequel. Don't worry if you have plans, you get to decide what your species knows about the universe. Technology levels will be decided by the player, but they must be reduced heavily (No intergalactic FTL, no antimatter weapons, only low level antimatter power generation, worse shields and weapons, the usual). However, those rules are not absolute, you can have fragmented technology left over. For example, you could be reduced to steam and electric power, but still have floating cars with electric propellers. You could have no idea of the wheel, but operate a substantial fleet of starships. Instead of researching jet engine to rocket engine, you could go backwards. Do not worry, there will be a lot of freedom with this. Size will be drastically reduced, couple hundred light years with only the already habitable planets colonized max (unless you have good reason to be larger). I have really good ideas for this myself, its full of potential for roleplaying.

We do need a title, though.

I think we should make it where the old civs are dead and there tech is scattered, with records of there culture and what ever happened gone or extremely rare to the point where it would take a while to piece together the former history of the galaxy. If people want to keep there civs they can just have there race get contained back on there homeworld and be unaware of the events that happened. As for my plans Faust sees the events that unfold as a opportunity to bring back the Equestrians. She rebuilds Equiis and protects the Equestrian Races there, giving them magic and returning it to the universe once again. She also rebuilds Earth and preserves the Humans. While she guides the equestrians and makes sure they have some name and appearances to try to keep there history and development the same as before she does not do this for the humans Key, so you can change the entirety of human history. Faust will also preserve a few other races that I plan to use with my new Equestrian Empire app once we get the sequel out.

Faust will also make certain planets magical for the Equestrians to discover, they will contain powers and artifacts for the Equestrians to use.

Seems good, but there should be more flexibility on the size of the old civs. Also, I request that you keep Faust away from the eyes of Federation species. She can intervene, but nobody can directly see what she does aside from one or two people who will be considered crackpots.

I was actually going to say we have thr old civs in ruins and have the species of those civs trapped on there homeworlds with no tech and unaware of what happened. They have to find remnants and piece together what happened so they could stop it from happening to them. It take them a while to figure out they were involved however and that they were even a civ before. The sequel would be 1000s of years after this one. Also Faust will place the Federation species on seperate worlds but close together so we can have a AIF from the start.

The Supremes would still be flying, and would probably more advanced than ever. Perhaps they, after the many thousands of years, have found their culture diminished, and offered to bring the former space-ruling species back to spaceworthiness, in return for cultural enlightenment. Then the Supremes would have positive relations with most, and everyone would have a legitimate reason to be in space, and it'd make a nice backstory as well. Supremes welcoming old friends into ship previously unexplored would be good for character development and the like.

Im going to say no.
The point of the sequel is that the new civs have to discover what happened by finding remnants of the old civs and defeat what destroyed the old civs. If the supremes survive it breaks the point. That and this sequel would occur 1000s of years after the current RP so all civs would have ample time to re research space tech.

I assume this is because of the vision you have for the Triarians? Don't worry, they could be one of the larger empires still left, and they don't have to lose much knowledge. You can still do whatever you're planning with them.

Why cant we travel across galaxies now, was there some cataclysmic event that made it impossible with the tech we had been using and we haven't worked around? Why did we get reduced in size? Extra-universal or Extra dimensional invasion, or just word of god? Were the other galaxies also devastated, destroying our holdings or are they cut off (and as a result are the home worlds of any extra-galactic species destroyed?) How did we survive the destruction? Do we still retain knowledge of each others languages (Are we allowed to decide this?) What happened to Faust during this time, why did she allow such devastation to the universe, surely a being of peace and harmony would try to stop this, was she defeated by the threat?
Potentially this good be very good... But can we get some more exposition other than "You shrank, something happened, your fleets were destroyed"

Oh, and everyone should have to keep track of their world and ship count. The reason for this is so we can say no to unrealistic booms in size, and also when we have finite ships and resources, it adds more to the battles. Right now there's nothing to lose, if the Collective goes to end game and self destructs on of their planets, boo boo they had tonnes of others to go to. Now imagine the situation if they only had a handful of other planets. If we have to track them, we wont be able to reach several million planets.

My ideas for the thing that wrecks everything
1.Extra-Universal threat, possibly Reapers or Borg
2.Insanity escapes and being the God of Chaos wrecks everything

Also yes technically we are still smashing everything up and just shoving everyone back on there homeworlds but there are remnants of the old civs so its still a sequel rather then a total reset. The technology would take a bloody long time to decode though.

Also as to why Faust wouldn't intervene is because she prefers subtlety and slight pushes to get people going in the right direction, she doesn't usually do direct intervention.

It took the Triarii 10,000 years to regain modern day tech from Stone age tech, which took humans hundreds of thousands of years, I don't think they are too interested in decoding and would rather just replace it with their new gizmos... But I'd be very surprised if you needed to decode it anyway, I thought we would keep our languages...

Well im unsure how the Triarii will get put back on there homeworld(Aetherii perhaps?). I was going to say that the computer development went a different direction rather then language, so there being different coding and processors and such, making it hard to decode the old technology. As for how I plan to keep English with the Equestrians and Humans Faust gives it to both, and has placed them closer together this time around so she can see a strong Human-Equestrian Alliance early on, And as for space tech she plans to push inventors and scientists in the right direction untill both the Equestrians and Humans have FTL drives, from which point she won't help them(Triarii will still get to space slighty before the Humans and Equestrians though).
