So I sorta have a Zelda rp like idea, but I would need participants who are willing to help me expand upon it.

The General idea was to place Hyrule a bit further in the future. Magic a bit more developed, Machines are being used for a more steam power use. Not too sure about guns, unless there was conditionals to it's use; sorta like the ARMs from the "Wild Arms." franchise. Which probably would mean that you are not going to blow someone's head off.

But, Hyrule would be a bit of the setting, but I also want to go other places too on their world. The only problem is I would need to pick a timeline.
Don't get me wrong, Demise/Ganondorf is cool, but hes been used so much. I don't even want the main threat even known from the start.

But a focus here is adventure, exploration with an open mind. Just not miles of sea... Or train tracks.
But an actual world with mixed agriculture. Sorta like how the Zoras and Gorons, Dekus and what not have different environments and live on different principles.

But of course I want more variations to races too, it is the future as I stated.

So what do you all think?

After examining the timeline to the fullest of what I can make out of it. I'm going to go ahead and say we are going after Hyrule's Recovery. Just less train tracks if you know what I mean.

In theroy, because of this said timeline, The Twili never invaded, The Mask or Majora was not destroyed or defeated.
Seeing as how Termina is adjacent from Hyrule in theory, I might include it as one of the many places to explore.

Seeing as how the Great Flood covered huge Foundations of land, I'm going to go with some sort of evolution theory. The minish are dead as far as this goes; they were spirits of the earth, and yet that earth was denied to them by the great flood. In short, they have no reason to be.

Zoras, Ruito(Whatever the bird people are called.), Gorons, Deku, Kokiri, Gerudos(With more gender diversity this point in time), Moblins,Bokoblins, Twili, Shiekaninans, Hyrulins(The basic humanoid race) will indeed resurface. Same with the Koroks. (Who are believed to be an evolution of nature from Deku and Kokiri alike.)

With that out of the way I am pending the idea of adding another race based on cosmetology. But based around Star namings of a sort, as in types. Gonna go up to four just due to the fact of a race takes a to establish.

Weaponry will go from Renaissance to western like. Such as old looking guns, the ones that were not super effective. In short, guns are better for magic casters. Other Mythical weapons for whatever else.
And it isn't like Gorons can't take lead to the face or what not. (Bad pun, I know.)

This is just a basic draft of what to expect.

In this Era there will be different political factors such as Inquisition; not the Spanish type, but the root of the word "Inquire, or "Inquiry." In short people who act as detectives, defend in courts or go against in courts. Basically the people who can make a difference almost immediately to in trials as to why something may be wrong or right.

Or just straight up able to use said credible title usurp or abuse power.

There will be mercenary companies based around expeditions into uncharted regions, unnamed lands. There too will be unlisted Zelda monsters.

Due to this being a Rp, I would advise to keep Puzzles on a Layton level, or just no puzzles or to basic puzzles.

Hmm... Triforce will be less needed due to the fact the heroes or villains for the most part are not really able to use it. So it will be less talked about due to the independence of the people.

Technology will not be super advanced as one might think. Most you will see is a heated home with a power source to run basic appliances. So we are getting to a revolution in technology, but nothing quite like today. So there will be plumbing for showers, sinks, toilets, there will be lights. There will be refrigeration, but not sure about TV lol.

Most they would get TV wise is court decisions, discoveries from expeditions, updates of laws. Nothing super entertainment wise.

Thoughts on all this?
What Lance had to say to that was

" The bird people are called the Rito, said to evolve from the Zoras after the great flood. Shiekaninans are just referred to as Shieka.

Played right, the races sound pretty solid. I guarantee that you'd get at least one nitpicker with the races (but the Koroks are supposed to be the evolution of the Kokiri! They both can't exist at once!) but I honestly like the diversity. That being said, I'd play it close to the chest when it comes to their change. Y'know, keep them how they are for the most part. The Zora are noble, intelligent, and cultured in the arts, the Deku are fast-talking, shrewd, and sly, Gorons are brutish, loud, and gregarious, etc. I'm sure you'll do a fine job of it, though, but if I were you I'd keep the male population of the Gerudo relatively low even if there's now more than one at a time. Something like 1 in 20 Gerudo being male, or even 1 in 100. Rare, but not so rare as to be extinct.

I'm betting you're basing the guns off of lever-action rifles, hammerlock shotguns and pistols, blunderbusses, muskets, things like that? I think that's pretty neat, and having weak guns like muskets would definitely make swordplay and melee combat more of an option. I think what you're thinking about would be a kind of "Settler" or "Manifest Destiny" period, where the countries are forming? With the new laws that come out maybe there are many land disputes as more and more people travel further into uncharted territory? That'd give it a kind of Wild West feel, methinks. Maybe have less electrically charged appliances and amenities and more steampunk clockwork type of devices, like what was hinted at in Spirit Tracks or Twilight Princess.

I'm just throwin' stuff out there, I really like your ideas! I already have a character in mind and I haven't even seen in your mind's eye what this is going to play like yet."
My response was

Well... I sorta have a pistol using mage.
Rito and Zoras can co-exist in my opinion.

Be mindful this is further from Spirit tracks or it's equal opposite (Aka other timelines)
But yes, the people of the new ages are differently spreading around outside of New Hyrule.
5 out of 20 are male Gerudos.
Shieka are more common by the palace and new Kakoriko.
I know how the other races are.
An Inquisitive race will be the Lumarians, some see them as descenders (aliens). They are few and said to have mild physic abilities. (Such as throwing or pulling objects with their mind or seeing into one's heart) Elegant based on living accommodations.

Steam generated electricity?

Some what like the settler idea, every day people caught up with things to be seen as a hero's task at times; drifters really.
How about that?

Definitely interested in this! Any plans for the "plot" for the characters? Opportunist travelers heading into unclaimed lands for profit and/or glory, or just a general freeform adventure?

It's both depending on what kind of character you have in mind; my character that I will take charge of is someone from New Hyrule (Obviously one of the starting points due to it being a safe haven) decides rather than being involved in a political strife, that he much rather travel the vast new contents of land that have been uncharted.

I have a general CS ready, but I don't know if I have any plans for a real "Hero". The Idea is more of "Ordinary people living the most ordinary life they can in Hyrule."
There is still magic, people who possess something called "Aether" or "Mana" (they have the same function) can indeed use it.

Everyone has different channeling tools. Everyone has different weapons or gadgets based on what you want. But for all intensive purposes this can be a pilgrimage where everyone has something to gain as well as to lose.

Got a Kokiri in mind, a little 300 year old potion witch/travelling merchant/pilgrim that's a little slow to adapt to all the new technology of this new high-tech age. She's a recycled character, but I have a lot of history and culture with the Kokiri I can introduce along with her, and her personality's already fleshed out.

Well, I'll get a CS up for you guys.
And the whole thing of races as well as traits said races have.

So, give me a bit.
Races

Human races: Hylians, Humans, and Gerudos

Hylians: They are distinguished by their pointed ears, closest to royal decent, ones who are said to be "chosen" by the gods. Unlike the other human races, they are skilled with magic and a bit of graceful swordplay.

Humans: They are distinguished by their short round ears. They are generally looked down Hylians due to their lack of "Deity" descent. This race is said to be far more innovative compared to their predecessors. Unlike Gerudos or Hylians, they are prone to invention and craftsmanship. Neutral to all elements.

Gerudos: A reclusive tribe that are closer to "humans" and see gender roles in society as blasphemous. They are mostly females, only 5 out of 20 Gerudos are male. The races has short round ears, but have tanned skin, crimson red hair, and yellow eyes. They are fast, sneaky, and dextrous with brute strength, Gerudo warriors frequently wield glaive-like weapons and scimitars. Weak to darkness.

Sheikah: This race is not quite a race, they are indeed Hylian, but more of a culture that work in the arts of shadow, and what could be seen as ninjutsu to some. Generally they serve the royal family unless banished or deciding to leave. The Traits they have are "The Eyes of truth"; the ability to see past optical illusions, and enemy weaknesses. Not as particularly strong, but fast and cunning with an arsenal of gadgets as well as strong magic that work in defense and dark artes. Great Stamina, good at countering, lack in stregnth, weak to light.

Zora Races: City Zora, Sea Zora, and Rito. These races are seen as diplomatic

City Zora: The Blue and white, yet elegant aquatic race that resemble that of fish in a humanoid form. They have the ability to soar through water with prowess. Said to be closest to the goddess Nayru. They can generate electricity in their bodies to act as a natural defensive offensive. They are skilled with spears. They hate fire, they are weak to it in that sense.

Rito: A Avian like race that evolved during the great flood, they resemble birds, essentially all white in feather coloration, capable of flight with good stamina. Not the strongest, but have excellent use of wind. Good reach for the most part, but feathers burn easily, and are weak to lightning.

Sea Zora: Like the City Zora, they are fish like, possess same ability, but more attuned to nature. Unlike the City Zora, they are green as reside at and in the Sea.

Gorons: Earth like beings that are entirely earth like. Generally live in hot volcanic or mountain regions. They are believed to have been closest to the goddess Din. They can generate fire with their strikes. They can roll up into balls and roll away, colliding into objects or people to inflict a great deal of damage. They are the slowest to grow, they resist flames completely. But are prone to sink in water, but have been proven not being able to drown easily. Resist wind. Weak to water, and grass/ nature based attacks.

Nature Races: Kokiri, Korok and Deku

Kokiri: A child like race that somewhat resemble children of the Hylian race, however they are seen as forest spirits that do not seem to age. They are usually accompanied by a fairy companion that can act as a knoledge giver. They are fast moving, cunning, and are more attuned to nature. They are prone to supportive magic and healing. Weak to fire.

Deku: A scrub like race that is capable of manipulating nature. They are fast-talking, shrewd, and sly, can deploy explosive seeds from their snout like mouths, can somewhat fly if they launch out of petal like holes in the ground, holding on to a flower that spins at the petals, manipulating the wind. Work best with fast weapons, weak to fire. Can float on water.

Korok: They are an evolution of Kokiri during the great flood. Can manipulate plants and a bit nature, can employ healing magic. Can float on water, weak to fire.

Celestial Race: Lumarian; a physic race.

Lumarians: They are viewed as outsiders by most, but are in Hyrule to stay, they take law very seriously as well as exploration. They are said to look close to humans, but possess feline like qualities. The race is particularly agile, great problem solvers, as well as general planners. They can indeed move small objects easily with their mind, but the larger the object, the more focus it requires; I.e. To move a Person would require full attention, even greater focus to move a Goron. Can employ magic, but not onto large groups, but more as to single numbers, and requires a casting tool as compared to other races. They lack in physical strength, they good agility, and can predict things based on focusing on a target or person. Cannot take many hits. Like humans, not generally effected by elements.

Just a nice handful.

Four or Five is good in my eyes; it shows people are interested.

And seeing as we are nearing that. (Counted 4, including myself to reach 5.) And a friend from off site seems interested. However I dunno when he can participate. But...

I can start the OOC today.

Lemme get something straight, thought: This takes place after Wind Waker, but the flood waters have receded? Does that mean that the reclaimed land is dotted with ruins from old Hyrule/Termina/other lands?

Pretty much to the point I see?
And I am not "spoiling" that. (TAKE THE HINT XD )

For all you know, they are repopulated.

But yes; after wind waker, bit less cartoonish here, more focused on hardships and discovery, and what you choose to do with those discoveries.

However, there is also new nu-discovered areas.

Frame: Feminine, or appears to be.
Description of looks: Long hair, Brown. Blue eyes. He looks like a girl. He wears fake B00bs and plenty of other… indescribable things to conceal his gender. Why? In his village of Gerudo, being a male either meant death, or being kept locked in a cage for a long time until he could breed, but that’s only if you were lucky or good looking. His parents disguised his gender to protect him, and at the first opportunity, they sent him into the world, telling him to always wear his disguise, for someone would want to kill him.

Main Weapon (Required): A Classic Long Sword.

Rest is WIP
Type of Artes: Running is always good. Another, in which he “flaunts” his body to try to get another male to do what he wants.
Fighting Style:

Physical Weaknesses: What you are physically weak to.
Physical Strengths: What your character happens to be physically good at, like the aforementioned Mage's strong magical abilities or a Knight's high defense.

Personal Strengths: Character strengths. Is your character smart or kind or diligent or happen to be charismatic? Opposite of Personal Weaknesses.
(Note: Personal Weaknesses and Strengths are not set in stone, and can change slowly over the course of the RP. This is called "Character Development")

Perks: You can have up to two or three normal ones. Perks will be extra little things to your character such as health and mana regeneration, or a small amount of added strength or evasion. You will be granted extra Perks through the course of the RP through your experiences.

Elemental Immunity: Just to reinforce what you have read about the race you selected.

Limit Breaker: A technique that is evoked by stress and tension. The skill is generally either supportive, offensive, and sometimes elemental.

Name: Axol
Nickname: Ax
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Race: Sea Zora

Non-Battle Occupation: Archeology grad student.

Height: 6'3"
Weight: 180
Distinctive Proportions: Has a wide mouth and flatish head, with three pairs of frilled external gill stalks extending sideways and backwards.

His arms feature expandable fins at the elbows.
Ax wears a pair of shorts at all time, with pouches and supplies hung on the belt. He has an ornate coral belt buckle. On land he likes to wear a simple poncho that he can throw over himself, usually after soaking the hood in sea-water. He doesn't need to do this to breath, it is merely his preference.

Main Weapon: A copper-headed spear. The shaft is in-laid with nautical designs in copper wire.

Type of Artes: Uses basic water magic. Also has a solid understanding of older styles of enchanting, and ancient architecture.
Fighting Style: Prefers to get somewhere safe, and thrusts spear from as far away as possible. Likes to run bio-electric charges down the copper in the spear, to give it a stunning effect.

Limit Breaker: Retreats and hurls his spear, charged with lightning, into a crowd of enemies. Lightning arcs out at all enemies nearby. The fewer enemies, the more powerful each arc is.

I'm liking what I'm reading, but I'm kind of shaking my head at the Gerudo.

I mean I established some things, and I'm glad they come across clear, but.... Just know most of you start from new Hyrule, so there is like no reason to conceal yourself.

But it is still nice to see the diversity.

OOC should be up in a hour or two. (Been slacking.)
