Those paper sheets, full of agonizing melodies, were cursed.

Julien knew that well, for it was his own bitterness and agony that screamed for him to take his own life that stared at him on that cold November night as he got ready for his concert... his last performance. He had passed a decade of his life composing those dreadful melodies, and as they drew more and more acclaim for the public he started to resent... no, loathe them. Tonight he would don his expensive performance tailcoat one last time, tonight he would be free of this farce called life. Tonight, he would see the smirking face of his harpy of an elder sister for the very last time.

His blond hair was expertly and impeccably slicked back with the help of various hair produces, his handsome face was powdered and his shoes shined before he put on his stark white gloves and exited the backstage as he was announced, meaningless applause and polite conversation falling on deaf ears as he walked.

One step, two step... three, four, five... nine, ten steps exactly before he bowed to his audience and gracefully glided the rest of the way to the regal grand piano upon the stage. Caressing the ivory keys with his gloved fingers in a simulacrum of affection, he sat on the upholstered bench and started a simple melody of his own making, growing in complexity as the night progressed and his despair heightened. So great was the rage and pain inside him, for that wretched noise called music and for those fool who forced him to be someone he was not that it transferred into his playing, the melodies getting violent and dark as he improvised, showcasing his pain to blind eyes.

After what seemed like an eternity, it was finally time for him to end his torment. He rose, bowed and left... far away from the stage and the adoration, and up the aged stairs leading to the roof of the opera house he got, his face shifting to it;s true self, bitter and pained and oh so angry... but he would not have to feel anything at all soon, would he? Only peace... finally...

(( Listening to this during these two posts is really powerful to be honest:
BadBye Piano ver. *plus this song was the inspiration for this RP originally* ))

The crowd was chattering on and on before the concert started, like thousands of birds in a cage. The lights of the auditorium were bright and the grand piano gave off a glorious luster against the light. The entire venue was packed except for one seat at the front. Resting upon the cushion was a small paper sign that said "Reserved" in elegant letters. The people next to the vacant seat looked puzzled, knowing that the show was due to start soon.

Just then, almost moments before Julien was set to come out on stage, the auditorium doors opened, a cold wind rushing in. At the door stood a young man dressed in a sleek black suit. His hair was slicked backed and he had a fair complexion. All eyes quickly turned to him as he walked down the isles. He had an odd aura about him, one that wasn't necessarily bad, but simply an oddity, like an elephant in the room. He got to the front row and silently took his seat. The lights then dimmed and everyone immediately forgot about the odd man and merely focused on the grand piano. Waiting. Watching. Listening as the footsteps of the pianist neared his mighty instrument.

Elliot's eyes watched carefully as Julian played. This wasn't just music. It was emotion. Emotion that no one would probably notice. Elliot's eyes were downcast. His playing...it's beautiful, but so full of pain. Full of hate. he thought to himself. He glanced around and saw smiles of enjoyment plastered on the listener's faces. Looks of awe and endearment towards this man. Elliot shook his head. This isn't what he wants! You're listening, but not understanding...If you understood, you wouldn't be smiling! he thought, sighing.

The melodies grew more and more intense and when the darkest of the aria had reached its peak, Elliot could sense the darkness in Julien's soul growing, almost overwhelmingly so. Then, all at once, the room went silent as the final reverberations of sound disappeared into the walls and minds of all the listeners. Elliot watched as Julien disappeared backstage once more and instantly rose to his feet. All the other people rose as well and started to exit, chatting with each other and blocking the path to where Elliot needed to go. The man started running, forcing his way through person after person. He didn't care about the cold looks he received, nor did he mind the harsh words he heard being called at the back of his head. That didn't matter.

Finally, he got to the back edge of the auditorium and ran backstage, he went first to Julien's dressing room, but found nothing but an empty room. Then, the thought dawned on him. The roof. All that dark energy surely must have sent him to the roof. A king's suicide, from the highest place he could be. Elliot's heart sped up as he ran for the stairs, ascending them as fast as he could.

Opening the last heavy oaken door to the freedom of night was the last effort he took as he slowed his pace, tasting the sweet promise of oblivion on his tongue and leisurely savoring the last cold sting of the harsh wind that he would ever feel as we slowly made his way to the edge of his prison. This broken heart would be mended, this wretched body sacrificed for peace and his soul would finally be free of torment... if he just took one last step forward.

He was broken long ago... it was the time he shattered his mortal shell upon the cold concrete bellow and ascended to heaven, along with the only confident he ever had, the German shepherd long having succumbed to old age and leaving him without a true companion in a world of sharks and vipers. Feeling bitter, sad and angry tears sting his pale eyes, he forcefully rubbed at them with his gloved hands and looked up at the sky, where the moon shone bright... as if approving of his choice and granting one last smile.

Below the passerby were like puny ants, headless of the wretched state of life and of his pain, only caring for the present and their own enjoyment... so clueless... so cruel... Glaring down at them, he thought for a moment of their reaction for his long, silent and blissful fall to his death.

They would probably enjoy it as they did his pain-filled performance, hungry vultures that they were.

Grasping the cold railing separating him from the ground hundreds of feet bellow, Julien was about to hoist himself headfirst into the unknown when a great crash startled him, making him turn around, incensed that his last, one true wish was broken and ready to strike down the heartless bastard who dared take his perfect death away from him only to stop and stare at the man before him, his pale skin shining like the moon upon his midnight black hair.

“Leave me be, whoever you are, I wish to be alone.”

There, maybe the night could be salvaged if the other got the decency to leave quietly...

Elliot rushed up the stairwell, the pressure of losing another human weighing down on his shoulders. His breath caught in his throat as he ran, climbing the stairs as quickly as he could. His hands trembled and his muscles tensed, his wings begging to burst through his clothes and grab Julian, to fly far away and make him forget his sorrows, to show him the beauty of the world. Tears welled up in his eyes, the pain of the past dragging him down into a hell of doubt and fear. "I won't let him die!" he cried out, his vision clouded by tears.

The moment his feet reached the top level of stairs, he slammed his body against the door, forcing it open with a sharp wail from the rusted hinges of the doors, surely alerting Julien of his presence. He was panting, soft puffs of mist forming at his lips as he heaved. He gripped his hands into fists and opened his mouth to speak, only to be stopped by Julien's words.

"Leave me be, whoever you are, I wish to be alone."

Elliot looked quietly at him, his lips pursing ever so slightly as tears rolled down his cheeks. "Please, don't do what you're thinking...There's so much more in the world than the stuff you've been through. I can help you," he said, wiping the tears off of his face. He felt his wings move beneath his skin, ready to spread themselves out and take flight. He tensed up his back, willing his wings to calm themselves.

Elliot had to focus. As his eyes looked at the pianist, he could see the darkness filling his soul, allowing for as much sorrow to flow into him as it could. It was like a sickness for humanity and Elliot tried his hardest to stop it.

Of course he wouldn't be left to die in peace, and some interloper had to intervene to 'save' him. What did the self-righteous bastard care that he wanted to die, huh? It was his choice, and he had decided a week ago to do it, and no one would stop him! Glaring hatefully at the other man before him, Julien took a step back towards the railing of the roof and sneered at the darker haired male, his eyes full of bitterness, pain and hate as he did so.

“This is none of your business what I do.” What his last words as he nimbly hoisted himself up the flimsy obstacle to his final freedom and threw himself headfirst into the night sky, a sense of exhilaration taking hold of him as he plummeted at breakneck speed towards his doom, adrenaline filling his vein and sending him into a bliss that no drugs or sexual partner ever could. Letting out one last laugh, feeling free, he get ready for the shattered impact when he felt himself slow down and stop in midair.

Pure white feathers filled his vision as a pair of warm and strong arms pulled him against and equally solid muscled chest. He had failed... but how? How could his fall be stopped, and who... or rather what had save him?

Glaring bitterly at his 'Savior', he was put face to face with the man who tried... and succeeded to stop him before the rush of adrenaline stopped and the young man succumbed to oblivion...
