The car ride was, as usual noisy, but Alex was too immersed in the lights speeding by to mind much. Music and chit chat echoed throughout the vehicle, and at times she would turn and laugh or sing along to a familiar song , but always tried to keep her mind distant from the actual ride. Eventually, the car slowed, and the familiar appearance of the scrapyard surrounded the small group. Pounding electronic music already filled the air faintly and a loud cheer sounded from within the tall walls only caused more excitement to swell within Alex's mind. After removing her long jacket and scarf, she exited the car and stuck close to the group, constantly checking her tiny black dress and hair and face with worrisome hands.
They passed the bouncer easily, and after a minute of listening and dwelling on Corey's instructions to Riley she turned, flicked her hand to and fro as if to wave goodbye, and quickly vanished into the closest mass of people. Her mind whirled with excitement as her eyes traced the fighting circle, then the circle of druggies, and then finally the small building in the back with bright, colorful lights. The best to flirt with were, of course, the rich kids. They didn't know any better, were most likely drunk off their asses, and hey, if they weren't paying attention she could get quite a but of cash out of one of them. She walked through the crowd with her head high, eyes narrowed, stumbling slightly over small junk until she was fully surrounded by blonde hair, blue eyes, and hefty looking back pockets. A loud, electronic song boomed through the air, resonating from the plain building just a few skips away from where Alex resided. She glanced about, fluttering her eyelashes at a few, but ultimately didn't do much to attract anyone.
She felt out of it.
But obviously not too out of it, seeing as a sudden hand wrapped around her shoulder and a half-empty beer bottle was held up in front of her eyes. She glanced up to the man above, and took note of his light eyes and good-quality sweatshirt, then gently took the beer and gave a short sniff. Nothing out of the sort... But just in case... Alex held the beer bottle back up and the man gave a short laugh and took a sip, then returned it down to her. Finally feeling a bit satisfied, she took a long gulp and grinned,
"C'mere often?" she yelled against the loud music, and the man shrugged and leaned against her. Alex, again, took note of this, and realized instantly that he was drunk.
Perfect.
She turned them, making sure her back was to the wall and his was to the large crowd surrounding the fights and then proceeded to embrace the man, standing on her tip-toes so she could rest her head on his shoulders. The man seemed oblivious at first, then returned the hug, grinning greedily. Alex smiled back while her hands fiddled with his back pockets, feeling around for the lump of a wallet, but was quickly interrupted by a shot of laughter from one of the crowds around the ring. Curiosity peaked, she leaned closer to the man to over look his shoulder again, who was now nipping at her neck, hands moving up and down over her small body. Luckily, Alex was a pretty rigid girl, so ignoring his inexperienced hands was a simple task. She focused in on the strange commotion in front of her, and felt her eyes widened when she saw the familiar figure of Howard. He was face first in the dirt, slowly recovering, and all at once Alex pushed away from the man, expression one similar to a crazed mother.
"Hey-" he began to complain, reaching for her again, but she dodged nimbly and broke into a light jog, the sharp heels of her platformed pumps digging deeply into the dirt much to her distress. After a moment of being immersed and pushed around by the crowd, she had lost sight of the other teen, but instead caught sight of a somewhat familiar man. Alex couldn't remember his name or why exactly she knew him, but his eyes were narrowed dangerously. She had a vague feeling of him being a bad person. Alex continued looking at the man, and soon noticed that he was focused on something, too focused.
'What?'
Despite feeling hands on her shoulders, she attempted to follow his gaze, and froze when she saw Howard again. Was he...? Again, on an impulse, she pulled free from the crowd, nearly stumbled over the chalk circle, and quickly removed her shoes. They were heavy, sharp, and not at all suitable for junk yard partying.
'I don't need 'em anymore, but you might enjoy these!'
Alex hefted one up, aimed, then tossed it at Stan, feeling somewhat satisfied as it connected with the dirt at his feet, kicking up a considerable amount of dust. The next one was thrown higher, aiming for his groin, but before she could see if she had hit or missed something jammed into her gut and she faltered, tumbling back into the crowd. Alex recovered just before she slammed into someone else and began glancing around furiously.
'Don't worry, don't worry. Just go find Corey or Declan or someone and have them handle it.'
"Corey!" She called out suddenly, dragging herself out of the crowd, "Declan! Guys! I think Howard is in trouble!"
