Petar just sat in the cab, holding his backpack on his lap while watching the landscape wish by him like sand in a timer. He couldn’t believe that only a few years ago he was just some lonely and nerdy kid that would rather spend time on his computer than go outside play whatever sport the jocks were playing. All his life, he knew he was different but he never would have thought that he was part of an entirely different species altogether. He’s had a couple of years to deal with this but even after a long paradigm like that; it’s still hard to take in. His skin is not even real, it’s just a disguise. His whole entire being is a disguise and he still can’t come to terms with it. He’ll admit, being able to control the weather is quite cool but it does have drawbacks. Petar hates being the centre of attention and to control weather on a larger scale, he would need to do just that. He’s just thankful that there’s a place that could accept him. He wouldn’t know how to explain to a human at a normal academy that he can possibly create a hurricane if he changes his skin, grow dragon wings, a serpent and some horns. They’d either piss themselves laughing or piss themselves scared. He realises that he seems to be getting close to the school. He didn’t know if the driver was a mythic himself or even aware of them. To avoid some sort of confrontation, he asks the driver to pull up about half a mile from the destination and he’ll just walk the rest of the way. His carrier bag in the boot of the car has wheels, so he can just drag it the school. ”Hey, excuse me, could you just park here? I can easily walk the rest of the way.” The driver gives a listless shrug and starts pulling to the side of the road. “Whatever, it’s your choice.” Petar proceeded to take his baggage out of the vehicle and pay the man, who insisted he pay for the full journey. As the cab drove away, he continued walking by the side of the road towards the building on the horizon. It would not be long before he would be in the presence of people similar to him. As Petar reaches the school, he sees all kinds of people walking towards it. Many had only subtle differences compared to humans but some seemed ok with showing their true form. He couldn’t believe the place he had arrived too. He may have finally found a place that he could fit into. He continued to walk towards the people, joining the crowd that was hanging excitedly just out side the gate. Petar hopes to have a long and fulfilling time here at Redthorn Academy.
