Town Square - Zin --- Panic gripped her heart. Everything had been fine, even though one of the militia had to knock out his crazed friend, everything was still fine then. That changed rather quickly. The traitor and the spiders and the spirits all contributed to Zin's racing heart. Another person might have been exhilarated by the thought of battle, but she could only think of the death it would bring, for the militia, for the other Queen's Blades, but most importantly for herself. She was just on the brink of fleeing when Laenaia, the other cloaked woman who Zin thought must be a vampire like herself, asked her to talk to the militia and try to snap them out of their fear. She grasped the thought desperately, like a drowning man reaching for anything nearby to keep his head above water. Thinking about their terror made Zin's own fear fade a bit, taking a spot of secondary priority. Those men looked near scared to death by the apparitions, and she could sympathize with them. She hurried over to the militia, making sure to keep her cloak closed to protect herself from the sun, and as she passed Wayne she recalled hearing him ask what the plan was. "D-deal with Jeremy, if you can." Zin heard the fear in her own voice and tried as hard as she could to suppress it before addressing the other men of the militia. "There's no need to fear the spirits. They're just illusions!" Zin held up her left hand and focused on conjuring an illusory flame, one of the simple spells she had recently mastered, and managed to fight through her own distracting fear to make it work. She then passed her right hand through the flame, showing the men that it was harmless. "See? I know illusions. Don't fear them." In truth she was not completely sure the spirits were illusions, but it was the best approach she could think of to perhaps snap the militia out of their trance of terror. "You should be afraid of that bomb in the fountain, the bomb that will kill countless people if we don't stop it. We need your help now, we need to deal with Jeremy and stop the bomb before it's too late, and we can only do that if you help us. Now come on, let's do our jobs and protect everyone." She pointed to the fountain for emphasis, and could only wait and hope she'd gotten through to them.
