Name: Dahiro “Hiro” Fukushima

Appearance: Hiro has brown hair that’s been cut unevenly by himself. It’s thick and mistreated because of all the times he’s accidentally caught his hair on fire. His eyes are almond shaped and dark brown, his cheekbones are high and his complexion is even, as per general Japanese features. He’s 5’8” and somewhat underweight, but he’s more muscle than fat even though he’s skinny. He has burn scars in patches on his forearms and one noticeable burn scar on his jaw under his ear.

Personality: Hiro is quiet, but he has a temper. He can stew over some things for a while, but when he’s had enough, he’ll snap which can get violent. He’s a wee bit of a pyromaniac and probably could use some legitimate help with that. He’s passionate and has a problem of taking things too seriously which ends up with him getting really worked up over some misunderstanding and a little humorless. He definitely has an ego and thinks he’s better than everyone else, but will, begrudgingly, admit he’s wrong on some rare occasions. He can be snappy without meaning to if he's tired or irritable.

Superpower: He’s can raise the temperature of matter with his mind over a short distance or touch; Often resulting in igniting, melting, or burning that matter. He doesn’t have completely control over his ability and it can backfire pretty badly on himself. If he focuses, he can generate a fire or heat up his own skin without hurting himself, but if he’s not concentrating, he’ll burn. 

Biography: Hiro comes from a poor family in a fairly dangerous neighborhood. His parents didn’t seem to like each other and all the stresses at home and a possible learning disability had him failing in school as well. Life was pretty bleak for him for a long time until he discovered his powers. He kept it a secret (concealed it with lighters, practiced whenever no one was looking) but it started to get to his head. He started using it to protect himself when he was walking the streets late at night. Then he started using it more to screw around with the kids that bullied him. Before he knew it, he was the bully and everyone was afraid of him and his inexplicable ability to cause burns. 

People were starting to talk about taking him away, so he ran when he was eighteen. Laying low didn’t work for him for very long, but he had some success robbing places and in arson. He was caught robbing a gas station and subdued before he could fight back. When he was taken in for questioning, he owned up to all the fires and robberies claiming to have a special ability, but no one believed him. Instead of jailing him, he pleaded insanity and was subsequently sent to an asylum.
