"...Eventually, the fisherman made it to the pond, but upon reaching it, he encountered a young woman there. She begged him not to fish in the pond, as it was sacred, but he ignored her and prepared to catch the fish that resided there." 

"The woman would not have that, so when he refused to listen, she stood in front of him and wiped off her own face, leaving only smooth skin underneath!" 

"When the man saw the faceless woman, he dropped everything, completely horrified, and ran all the way back home. As soon as he arrived, he called for his wife and told her of what he had seen. She scolded him for his foolish behavior, telling him that he should have listened her instead of having tried to fish in the pond. The man was ashamed, and looked back to his wife to tell her that she had been right the whole time..." 

"...but as he looked back to her, he was shocked to see her wipe her own face clear and reveal herself as one of the Noppera-bou as well!" 

Sitting back, Kika smiled softly in the firelight. "There is no need to worry, though. The one who told me said that he and his wife were both fine in the morning. The Noppera had a very good laugh that night, and he never fished in the pond again."
