Let it be known that Edward was someone that could not be easily angered, with a whole lot of years learning how to control his reactions, especially dealing with his brother Gabriel pranking around. But when someone tells him in his face that he thinks that he is his father and that he likes to be praised for that, well you think the Bible would remind people what happens when you commit blasphemy or crimes against creation. He so wanted to just snap his fingers and kill her, but if he were to do that in front of so many people, that might make them afraid. So Edward decided to let some of his grace out to teach her a minor lesson. To normal people at close range it might sting a bit but to a demon, well it will really leave a mark on her.
