"I'll tell what you what... I'll be back at around..." Eli inhaled deeply and exhaled out of left side of his mouth. "I'll be here at around three fifteen. I got some work stuff that needs doing." Eli grabbed a ten dollar bill from his pocket and grabbed and placed it on the counter. Still maintaining the illusion of the butterfly in the other hand. "Save that smoothie for me. I'll need it later on." Eli said as the butterfly flew away and slowly dissipated in the air.

He turned and walked away, just as he hit the door he raised two fingers the air and absorbed the electricity in the air that was used for the butterfly. It was one of his many abilities, the ability to absorb any and all electricity around him. Cars, cell phones, batteries, lamp posts. Anything and every thing that held electricity could feed his powers.

Living in major metropolitan place like New York could make him love it more. As it not only made him powerful but it would allow him to make a fortune.  But if would allow him to do some good as well. Giving away power to the poor and helping the rich save money. Sometimes even trading favors.

When he walked out of the cafe the conduit that he was fighting earlier was starting to get up. "Stay down guy, whatever your problems are, none of them are worth getting your ass kicked for a second time." The conduit didn't say much, it wouldn't be too much of a shock if his jaw was broken. It was known by most all that conduits were by nature must more resilient to most sort of damages. That didn't mean they couldn't die or have broken bones. Pain, death and maiming were still very real to them. All it boiled down to was that there bodies could withstand so much more than a normal human being. It was a damn good thing for that, with all those powers going around a normal human couldn't take much of a beating all in the world or a conduit.

Those words didn't seemed to have any effect on the man. He still got up and started to walk towards him. He knew without a doubt he could win against this conduit, but he also knew that he was going to take at least a little beating from this next encounter as well. Thats how just about every real fight that has ever taken place, even when there is a clear winner, the winner will still take a few shots. That was just the way the world went.

"If you want a fight I'll give it too you, just not right now." Eli made the mistake, the stupid mistake to turn his back and walk away from the conduit. Eli knew better than to do that, it was staying along 101. Eli paid the price for that mistake, a sharp pain hit him in the back. This fight was going to take a lot longer than it should. Why couldn't this guy just let it go?

Eli turned around and started his assault, within an hour it was over. Eli didn't know if the conduit was dead or not, and at this point it didn't really matter to him. What matter to him to Eli right was simple. Humiliating this douche bag as much as could. Thoughts ran rampant, so many things came into his head. However he was always a fan of one particular form of embarrassment, a good ol' fashion pantsing. With a little rope, a street light and torn and tattered shirt tied around his face. Eli tied the conduit by his pantless legs to the street light, his nearly nude body swing by . He wished he could he wasn't proud of this, but he was. He made sure that, he used his powers as little as possible. There was no reason to help anyone figure who hung a pantless, shirtless conduit to a street light.

With a satisfied grin, Eli went about his day. More than confident that this was going to be the last time he was going to have deal with this. There was still a lot to get done before three, all he had to do right now was work and maintain. He didn't have any meetings or had a reason to look decent. So he just went on about his day.

Kain perched on top of the rooftop like a hawk watching its prey. The streets of New York were right below him, rushing with the sound of people moving and working round like pitiless ants. He would love to squash these ants one by one with his powerful boot but in this ‘city that never sleeps’ there is only one ant he wants six feet through the dirt: Dr Mikhail Petrov. His past will catch up to him and it will be his undoing and suffering. This man has evaded the system for too long. Soon, Kain will drag him out of his mole-hole for the world to see. Agony and misery could not describe what Petrov has coming.

Only one woman in this god-forsaken town seems to know how to found them. It would be pleasurable to interrogate every human in this city one by one till he found a syndicate member but not even Kain has the patience for something so sweet. This Scorn woman was able to find one of the grunts which means that she can find another one and that grunt will collapse under Kain’s torture and reveal the location of another higher-up grunt. It will start a long and treacherous chain of command that Kain will climb but he will tear the syndicate piece by piece until some piss-scared human decides to give up the location of Petrov. However, Scorn is not an easy person to find, considering she is on the most wanted list in every police precinct in New York City but, if she is recruiting, then she’ll need the help of some powerful conduits and if she likes what she sees, she’ll find you like a watchful predator.

Kain has been hiding in the dark for too long, he needs to flex his conduit muscle. He looks around the city from his birds nest on top of the skyscraper. There will be something public that can be crashed. There always is. He knows that he is a god amongst insects and he needs to show it. If he keeps sticking to the shadows, lurking like some sort of hunter then he’ll never get noticed. He wants to work as a lone wolf but sometimes even killers need friends. He dissipates into the water pumps of the skyscraper and made his way into the alley at the base of the building. In the alleyway there was a flyer showing that an anti-conduit protest was happening not far from his position. Not everyone has accepted conduits as part of the community and many have been urging the government to send them back to a facility similar to Curdun Cay. These idiots didn’t know the horrors of Curdun Cay. They would send us back into the murderous hands of those monsters as they poke and prod us like fucking lab rats. Looks like Kain found his target. An attack on an anti-conduit protest ought to attract the attention of the destruction-loving Scorn.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

A man in a suit stood on a podium and spoke outright to the crowd in front of him. Most of the crowd had propaganda that shows their discrimination of the conduits but some had nothing at all and just went to see what the noise was all about. The man addressed the crowd as they hunger for his words.
“People! You gather around here today because you too are also aware of the scum that hangs around this great city.” He then bangs his fist on the podium with a melodramatic effect. “Conduits”. The crowd jeers ferociously at the sound of that word.
“These so-called “people” are a menace and danger to our society. Combined, they have the power to destroy or rule this world. There is not a single resource on this planet, both natural and man made, that they can’t control. Except one…our dignities!” The crowd just kept applauding him and chanting onto his every word. The crowds years ago used to be in the thousands but some have expressed tolerance towards the conduits since Curdun Cay and the number of opposers in the crowds has dwindled down to a measly hundred or so but that is still a lot of hate towards the other race.

Kain just stood in the crowd like a shadow with his black hoodie up. He was standing there, listening to every word this glorified attention seeker was spouting. He was just another wannabe Bertrand or Augustine, except without the powers. The only reason this speaker is orating this foul speech his because he is simply scared. Most unjustifiable hatred in this world comes down to fear. He was just a scared little boy trying to prove that the big boys are simply big bullies. In a small way, he’s quite right.

As he watched the speaker spew crap, he started walking slowly through the crowd; shoving past excitably enraged ant-conduit activists. The distance between himself and the podium is getting closer and raises hands horizontally from him and starts to show his ‘magic’. As soon as the first sight of a yellow-green gas showed from his hand, the crowd around him screamed and parted away from him immediately, like the red sea. The gas come right from the concrete ground as pipes started to burst right beneath, almost every step he takes represents destruction. The chlorine gas came from the purified waters in the pipes below. The speaker stops talking and the crowd just freezes in utter terror.
“You act like you aren’t afraid of us but we know you’re just a scared little kid and a poser.” As he was speaking, several policemen blocked the way to the podium in front of him, aiming their pistols at him.
“Freeze! Get down on the ground or we will shoot!” Shouted the police officer. This comment made Kain burst into laughter at the fucking irony. “I have not done anything wrong and yet here is the NYPD pointing their weapons at me. I haven’t hurt anyone and I haven’t broken a law so far. It truly shows who you really protect.” He waves his hand at the terrified humans around him. “If anything, I was doing a surprise magic show.” He then continued to swerve the Chlorine gas in his hands as he absorbs it into his body.

“Enough!” Shouted the police officer. “If you leave now, we can forget this”. This proposition gave him a small smile on his face. “Oh, I don’t think anyone will be forgetting this.” He then gently throws a small chlorine gas grenade down towards the feet of the police officers and before they could even react to it, they start dropping like flies onto the ground, wheezing and screaming in agonizing pain as the chlorine gas fills up their lungs and slowly chokes them in one of the most horrifying experiences they will ever have. Their eyes water and irritate, their skin starts to turn burn with disgusting marks and their screams start to die out as they succumb to the inevitability of death. The crowd started screaming and running away, some calling for help and some taking pictures of the incident. Kain just strolls through the gas with ease, walking past the disfigured bodies of the police officers.

The speaker looks in horror as his protection falls at the hands of Kain. He tries to run away but Kain fires Hydrochloric acid shots at his knees, crippling him and making him immobile. As he walks out from the Chlorine gas like a phantom, he dissipates forward onto the stage, right at the feet of the boisterous orator. The man he saw ten minutes ago was a completely different person compared to what he sees now. His talk of dignity and braveness was all bull shit. Men show their true selves when they at their lowest and the true being of him was just another scared human. It’s almost hilarious. He now believes it’s time to make a show out of him. He lifts him up from the ground, his fear making him weak to do any form of struggling. The scared people in the distance record with their video cameras and phones at Kain. He puts his hand in the air and starts almost soaking his hand with hydrochloric acid that was being produced from his hand. He then whispers into the poor man’s ear. “Suffer, as we have suffered.”

He then violently proceeds to stick his hand into the speakers back, digging through it like a gold man, hearing his agonizing screams as the crowd watch in disgust and horror at what they are sighting. Kain then retracts his hand and pulls out the heart. He drops the speaker and watches him limply fall onto the ground with a giant hole in his back. Kain was being recorded with a heart in his right hand. He then continues to melt it in his hands; the arteries and the vesicles just fade away into nothingness. Just a small, red and acidic liquid right in the palm of his hand. The crowds just couldn’t believe their eyes. A man just had his heart ripped out from him and it was melted right in front of their eyes.

Kain looked around. The small crowd of a hundred turned into many as bystanders stand there, witness to his actions. Unfortunately, SWAT showed up and this was Kain’s cue to go but he had to leave a parting gift for the people who decided to watch. He threw Chlorine gas grenades onto the mass of crowds but he’s only using 500 (parts per million breathed air containing Chlorine gas) on the crowd. This is high exposure and some may live and some may die. The ones he used on the police officers was 2000 which meant instant death. As he watches the crowd choke around him, he makes his move to dissipate from the area, moving through the pipes of the Chlorine purification system. His work here was done.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Kain stood on top of a building from a very, very far distance from the scene of his actions. He watches as ambulances and medical-experienced people try to help the ones affected by the Chlorine gas. He knew that the ones who survive are strong and the ones who die were weak. This was enough to get the attention of Scorn. Kain knows that she’ll like what she’ll see and then she’ll come to him and he’ll find his lead on Petrov. She’ll find him a lead on Syndicate one way or another. His vengeance still burns as hot as his brutality and rage and it is not an easy flame to put out. Ellie will be avenged.

Maxi sat drinking his coffee, watching the man in-front of him, a conduit. He could tell, the way he followed Maxi into the coffee shop, the way he would deliver half glances in his directions. It also helped that Maxi remembered him from Cruden Cay. He began to think of the place, all the anger and hatred toward normal people, Maxi knew they were just jealous at what they couldn't have. It was okay though, Maxi had forgiven them. And he will protect them. Then he though on the syndicate and their cause, the cause they believed in was a noble one, taking away the powers of conduits that miss-used them. Though it should be decided by a group of conduits, not kidnappings and a vigilante group.

Maxi sighed, some people just couldn't be helped. His phone vibrated and he looked at it. It was the news app he had downloaded, it was breaking news, about an attack and innocents dead. Maxi looked up at the man who followed him here. He got up and rushed over to him "calm on, we gotta go!". Maxi pulled on his shirt "come on hurry!". He yelled again, "i'll be back, save my spot". He pointed at Keira".

Just about to ask the lady behind the counter some questions, Wes felt himself being pulled back away from the counter and fell on the floor. "Ah dude, what was that for, I just got here?" frustrated from the fall, Wes rubbed looked at the excited wondering what the deal was. "Sure I might of followed the guy, but hopefully he didn't see me." Wes thought to himself "Can't you just let this ordinary guy have some peaceful talk here or something. Unless you think you need help with something major some Jack the Ripper murder case." giggled Wes as he looked at the guy.

Scorn

Scorn frowned. She did not like this boy's tone with her she decided."Well if you don't know who I am then I don't feel the necessity of mentioning my name to you. You live under a rock or something?" She answered having a smile returned to her face again ",How about I give you three guesses of who I am. You get it right I won't skin you alive." She liked the thought of skinning someone alive at the moment actually, after hearing her two informates getting caught, she needed something to preoccupy herself besides just recruiting. She definitely wanted Sebastian with the Reapers, his powers were perfect. Though she did not know what Milo had to offer her. Perhaps she would give him a chance though, since he seemed to go through the trouble of finding her, why else would he be here? Most other conduits knew to stay away from her like the plague unless she found them.
"Or perhaps I will give my name if you show me what you can do," Scorn said ",It better be good too, you caught me after getting some bad news so hopefully...." She didn't get to finish her sentence. Her phone came to life again.
"What now," she said with a slight hint of agitation as she answered it ",Krieg? What is it now, I'm busy a bit after all?..... Oh..... Hmmmm interesting..... Very interesting. Get the address and found the conduit, I would very much like to meet the conduit to show my own gratitude," she answered and hung up the phone again but this time she was smiling and her day seemed to be back on the upside once more. Whoever had caused the attack on the protesters got her interested, though it also meant she had reign whoever did this in or end them permanently. This was her city, her playground. She couldn't have a lone wolf conduit going about and ruining her plans for the city so the conduit would have two choices. Join her or die, a third choice would be optional if the conduit could get away without Scorn finishing them off but so far no one had managed to get it.
"All right boys, well we have to speed this process along. So Milo show me what you got and maybe I'll let you in on my name if I'm interested," she said ",Then I'm going to need to get to another meeting of mine. Tick-tock, let's get the show on the road."

Keira

"I'm charmed to be considered lovely but if you knew who I was related to, you wouldn't say that at all," Keira joked at Eli but was also serious. Besides her and perhaps Augustine, who now resided behind bars thanks to Delsin, she had kept it a secret that she was related to Scorn. She then went about her business, she only got a few more minutes of peace though before it was chaos again.
"Um okay," Keira said confused as so much happened in a span of a few seconds. First Eli told her that he would be back by the end of her shift, then to hold his smoothie. After that a guy told her to hold his table for unknown reasons for her on where he was going but decided she might as well since it was slow and after the fight most customers had all ready left anyways. The same guy that told her to hold the table also tried grabbing another guy as well who was now conversing with him.
I really need to get a less chaotic job, she thought to herself.
(After this, next time we see Keira will be the time jump.)

Krieg

"Understood," he said into the phone hanging it up and then turning to a fellow conduit ",Bane, get over here. We're going conduit hunting."
Krieg and Bane were the last two surviving conduits of the Reaper gang from Empire City. When the city had been destroyed by the Beast, they had only just managed to get out, getting on one of the few ships that had been leaving Empire City at the time. Krieg and Bane traveled to Texas, and for a short while were transferring drugs across the border. Without being mind controlled by Sasha's black tar, they made quite a team. Of course it was only a matter of time before they had been caught by the DUP and shipped to Curdon Cay, where they met their new leader, Scorn. She was different from Sasha and unlike Sasha they feared Scorn not because they were controlled to but because she was bat shit crazy. They liked her for it and let her in on the Reapers.
After Curdon Cay, they stuck with their new leader, if they had been living the good life before, they were living a dream now. Sure it didn't have the fanciest of places to live but as long as you didn't piss Scorn off, your life was luxury.
They made their way to where the attack on the protesters had happened. Normally Scorn would of gone but she had been busy and sent Krieg and his partner to get the conduit who did this and bring them to her. They stopped quite a bit of ways from the scene. There was no telling where the conduit would be, could of been long gone, or still very close to the scene. They had to do a search grid.
"Keep your eyes out for any conduits but stick to the shadows, don't need Scorn on our ass about getting caught by cops, especially after the two informates got nabbed today. Hopefully Dusty has taken care of that by now," Krieg said. Bane nodded and they split up looking for the conduit who had done the massacre here. It was highly unlikely for them to be caught though. Krieg and Bane were part of Scorn's personal elite group of fighters, being the two next in command after Scorn would mean they weren't going to be easy take downs and understood that being killed was cops was probably better then being killed by Scorn.

Maxi shook his head and ran out, lighting himself onto the building above him, he had to get their in time to catch who ever did this. As maxi ran as fast as he could he began to think, of who could have done it. I|t must have been the reapers, or someone looking to catch attention, he stopped out of breath. His power drained, he turned and took a flashlight out of his pocket. Flicking it on he started to suck the light out of the device. It didn't look like anything, the dim light was there and then not. But now the flash light wouldn't work anymore, the battery was fine and would work in another flash light but not this one.He threw the flash light down and continued on.

The area where it happened was a massacre, a few news vans were at the scene.Maxi jumped down, light breaking his fall. He crouched down to check the wounds on the victims. Maxi stumbled back "Jesus, smells like a public pool". The smell of the wounds were overpowering and were the same as the two people from this morning. Maxi snapped a few photo's and then was turning to leave when someone was standing there. He had a red shirt and black and red pants, he glared at Maxi "who did this?". He demanded walking towards Maxi, "was it you?!" he yelled, a white mist leaked from his hands "who are you?!". the man yelled again, Maxi crouched in a fighting position "no I didn't-" Maxi ducked, an ice spike was shot at him, the man charged and Maxi ducked out of the way. "Hold on let me-" Maxi was interrupted by a flurry of ice spikes, one grazing his shoulder. It sent Maxi tumbling away and landing on his stomach Maxi flinched when a man picked him up by the shirt and threw him back into the street, sunlight caked him from head to toe. Maxi closed his eyes and let in the warmth into his body. Maxi started to glow a faint white, his hand made a finger gun, he pointed it at the man who attacked him "I didn't do it".

A blast of light was shot from his finger, shooting the man down the street, he hit a set of lights and then the concrete. Maxi stood up, it took all his energy to stop sucking in sunlight. He went to walk then noticed that his hoodie, was white not black. He laughed a bit as he lit himself right infront of the man who was attacking him "listen buddy, I don't know who you are but I didn't do that, I control light not what ever acid the guy who did this controls." Maxi helped the man up, he sighed "i'm sorry, I-" Maxi smiled " no need to say anything."

Kain sat on the edge of the skyscraper watching his painted picture. The protest that was attacked earlier was still being sorted. The humans tried frantically to pick up the pieces that Kain smashed and left. They like to think that their organized and ready for anything but the real truth is that they’re just like rats. They’re disorganized, dirty and many. All Kain is doing is waking them up to the truth. However, as much as he would love to attack every single piece of oppression on conduits, his true goal was to attract attention of a certain someone. That certain someone will lead him on the path to Syndicate and Petrov. Once he finds Petrov, he will make him suffer more than he could possibly imagine. His hands glow with the green-yellow colour of chlorine gas. The more he thinks about Petrov, the more the hands glow in a representation of rage and revenge.

He then looks closer in the far distance at the site of the protest. He thought he saw something quite odd for a moment there. He could swear he saw some sort of flash, almost like a flash of lightning. He can’t see what happened, as a building was covering the sight of the flash. All he can tell was a flash of light happened and he’s not sure but he thought he saw some sort of white mist. He then stands up and starts to tense up and ready. He’s not sure if it was Scorn’s doing or if it is some sort of sign. He needs to be ready just in case.

Unfortunately, his train of thought is interrupted as he heard some sort of loud swish happen behind him. He quickly turns around and aims his hand quickly at whatever did that. A piece of hydrochloric acid floated around his hand, waiting for Kain to pull the trigger. Oddly though, it was nothing. It was the same as before. Some open air vents and a large water tank. This made Kain very hot on his feet. He knows something is there. He has the eerie feeling of being watched, almost like there is something lurking in the shadow. Then it hit Kain. Shadows! That’s what Scorn can manipulate. He remembers it vaguely from Curdun Cay. It became quite a problem for the officials there. If his memory serves him, they had to put her in a room filled with lights and no darkness at all, except her own shadow.

“Scorn?” calls Kain out towards the shadow. There was no response for the first ten-twenty seconds but then a dark, rough voice replied back towards Kain. “She at the moment.”
An angry look came to Kain’s face. He is not interested in some lackey. He wants Scorn. He moves a little more forwards towards the shadow while still keeping his distance.
“I did not destroy an anti-conduit protest to speak some mindless lackey. I did it to speak to Scorn. Now where is she!” his voice became more rougher and angrier but the shadowy figure dashed from the shadow like an agile panther towards Kain and came up at him from behind. He grasped Kain's throat and was holding it quite strongly. His hand was glowing black with some sort of shadow attack. It seemed to be he was threatening him. It might have been something he said.
“Hold your fucking tongue! We are Scorn’s right hand men and we will not hesitate to destroy you! Do we make ourselves clear!?” His friend also popped out of the shadow to reveal that there are two of them. They seemed to be wearing the same uniform as the Reapers. At least he knew that they know Scorn. Kain then realizes right there that he is being threatened. He does not like threats.

He fired a piece of acid from the tip of finger to his face to blind him temporarily. He lets go in pain to momentarily be blinded. Kain then quickly grabbed him and threw him at his friend. The other lackey dashed out of the way as his friend was thrown beside him. Kain then makes his arms light up in a mass flame of yellow-green chlorine gas. It was to show the extent of his powers. It was like a bald eagle show the extent of his wingspan.
“If you dare fucking touch me again, I will melt you down piece by piece and send you both to Scorn in a milkshake cup so that she can drink herself some smoothies made out of you two!” He slowly walks forwards towards them and then stops. “However, I will play nicely if you show me to Scorn. Are we clear!?” The reaper henchmen don’t seemed to be feared but they do seem pissed. “We are here to take you to Scorn. As much as we would ripping that face off, we are under orders from her.” Kain just smiled and chuckled a little bit. “Typical”. One of the henchmen looked into the other and shook his head. They really wanted to kill Kain but they know they can’t.

He looked back towards the scene of the protest. He knew this plan would work. If Scorn truly wanted new members, then she would not resist someone who is not scared to murder people and cause a major commotion. If he does kill Petrov, he might join the Reapers. He’d rather help Scorn with domination has an ally and not as some sort of henchman. No one controls Kain. Not any more. He turns back towards the Reaper henchmen. “I never caught your and names and I don’t care. Lead me to Scorn and I’ll follow.” Kain would have expected some sort of threat like: ‘try killing her and it’ll be your last’ or some crap like that but these Reaper soldiers are not that stupid as it seems. If Kain really wanted to kill Scorn, he wouldn’t have murdered a bunch of civilians to do so. If anyone were to have a need to kill Scorn, it’d be some conduit with a pathetic sense of morality. Kain just hopes he doesn’t bump into one. Could be messy.

"Well I actually do know your name, Scorn current leader of the conduit gang known as the reapers. Lost two members, been on recruitment even before their death though I'd guess their death probably makes you want a few more people isn't that right?" Milo knew this was a potential suicide, especially knowing he was on thin ice, but he saw it as a good time to demonstrate a bit of knowledge, you never know what she'll need. "And if you really want a demonstration, here it is" in mid sentence, a hole opened up in the Earth swallowing milo as he called up the last part, before quickly shooting himself out. While in air he summoned two golems each about the size of a normal man, except made of the assphault. He landed between them both, coming to a catchers stance (baseball catcher) smiling up to scorn. "Good enough?"

Scorn

A rock conduit, interesting. Now if only he curbed his mouth at me, Scorn thought to herself.
"Yes, yes fine," Scorn said with a wave of her hand and then looked at her wrist, as if she had a watch on ",Well I must be moving on, my men will of found what I asked them too by now and I can't leave a lovely customer waiting. I'm a busy bee after all, so many things to do so little time, but here's an address you can meet one of my.... associates at and he'll bring you to my place of business."
She walked over and drew out a few cards with an address scribbled on all of them. She gave one to Milo and then went over to Sebastian."I suggest you skip school today and go join Milo for the day at that address. I'm sure we can talk it over with your... parents or..... step parents," She said having to force either of the words from her mouth, as if by saying them would somehow cause her to be sick. She gave smile to Sebastian though and gave a light pinch to his nose with her clawed hand.
"TTFN. Ta-ta for now," she said and disappeared into the shadows. Krieg and Bane better of found that conduit by now, or else they were going to get a talking too and something worse. She couldn't keep a smile from crawling on her face though as she went, three conduits in one day and it was only mid day, today was going to be quite a good day indeed.
TIMEJUMP

Krieg and Bane brought the conduit to an unspecified location. It was a back alley place in a poorer part of the city, a place where they would less likely be distrubed by do gooders and the cops.
"You stay here, Scorn will be with you soon," Krieg said and before the man could reply, both Krieg and Bane were gone. The man didn't have to wait for long though before Scorn made her apperance, her reddish-orange eyes coming from the shadows.
"Well, well so you are the one who attacked the protesters," Scorn said eyeing the man from the shadows. He wasn't bad looking, she thought to herself as she stepped out of the shadows ",but I have to ask why? Attacking such a large group of protesters only brings attention, mostly from the cops. I don't think you wanted their attention. So what do you want?" She got straight to the point. There was no need of beating around the bush for her. She wasn't to happy about him attacking a protester group, that was her job, this was her town, she couldn't let lone wolves take it over but this guy definitely had to of had a reason for doing it.
Kiera- TIMEJUMP

Kiera was at the end of her shift, with her replacement for the late afternoon shift came in to take her place so she went in back and took her glass board along with the fruit smoothie that Eli had ordered before leaving earlier and went out of the shop waiting for him. She had told her replacement about holding the table for the one guy that had asked her too.
She remained next to the shop waiting and thinking on what Zeke had wanted to say but couldn't at the shop as well as what had made so many conduits up and leave the cafe. It must of been something pretty serious, perhaps it was Scorn? Ever since her big reveal Scorn had been rather quite, the few busts against the Reapers had merely been against informates and pawns of hers, people Scorn perhaps had brought into the group but didn't care as much as some would think. She could replace them in a whim if she had too. She quickly dropped the idea that it was something with Scorn that had drawn most of the conduits out of the cafe, no Scorn might of been insane but she was a smart psychopath, perhaps the most dangerous thing to be. A smart psychopath that was a conduit, the thought made her shudder.

Elijah surfed his way back to the cafe. He was running behind which was pretty much par for course for him. Using his much beloved electromagnetism, he could pretty much use any metal objects as a surfboard. There was a lot more he could do metal, but this was by far his favorite thing to do. The sounds of the people below, the hustle and bustle of life less than thirty feet below his feet. This was truly the most freeing thing in the world. A stainless steel pole six feet long and inside diameter of about six inches was his metal broom stick. Flying just above the lamp posts and street lights in that nice little safe zone. Here there was no lights or traffic, pedestrian or otherwise, save for a couple other conduits. He took a glance at his watch, it was only five minutes past three. He only had a couple of blocks to go, hopefully Kiera wasn't going to freak out too much. He would find out soon enough.

He was more worried about the time than he was about the state he was in. His face had the look of someone that had been up for the couple of days straight. That worn out look of someone that just needed some sleep. His clothing was a more than little torn and tattered. The holes and burn marks in shirt, and coupled his jeans that looked like it had been tossed into a shredder. As bad as he looked, as bad as it seemed, he didn't feel all that bad over all. A little tired maybe but nothing that was too out of the ordinary.

Eli turned the last corner before the cafe, his body was completely level with the ground. As he came of his turn he started his descent. When he got to five feet above ground, he jump off his pipe and landed with it in hand. The gravity of the day started to hit him as he landed. With a deep breath, he started rubbing his temples. Resting the pipe on his shoulder, he looked at his hands. His hands started to glow, three out of his ten finger tips were glowing blue. It was the number of power cells left. It was very surprising that he little power left. The two or however many fights he had with that conduit had taken a lot more out of him than he thought. Coupled with all the other work that he had to do on this rather odd day, he couldn't remember how he spent so much power. Unless he started with much less than he thought. It was doubtful and always possible.

Right now there were bigger fish to fry, right now he was there to find Kiera. Looking for a second, his eyes spotted Kiera. "Oh, Kiera. Sorry I'm late, I had ah... I had a thing, uh things." He said somewhat weary, his mind somewhat disheveled. If he could get a refill on a little power, fill his power reserves up he should a little more than fine.

King and Maxi sat on a rooftop, it was clear they had similar Motives so why not work together?. Maxi took a drink of some water, his black now white sweater complimented his powers and his look, he never really liked black anyway, he just liked the Irony of it, a guy who controls light wearing black. It was strange for Maxi, working with someone else or having someone on your side for a change, every conduit he ran into after Curden Cay wanted to either steal something, kill someone or just wanted to destroy something. He flt sometimes like he was the only good Conduit left, not one of those conduits who stay on the sidelines but one who actually wanted to do something besides kill, maim or crush.

The small apartment building they were on was cluttered with vent's and things to keep the building running, they have been sitting in silence for a few minutes now. That awkward silence that made you fell wierd. "This whole thing is fucked". King finally pipped up and started to pace, Maxi smiled "how so?" he questioned leaning on a piece of sheet metal, "well, we plan to take on the Reapers, The Reapers!". The second time putting more emphasis on Reapers, "so we should give up?". Maxi asked standing up straight from the sheet metal he had been leaning on "no, But we might need some help". King suggested walking to the edge of the roof and looking at the cities horizon "were are we gonna find more sane Conduits like us?". King smiled and turned to Maxi "wow, can smile, I thought you had a medical condition where you physically cannot smile". King dropped the smile "just come on". King jumped off the roof, Maxi following.

The Bar they entered was a little dark, some people occupied tables and booths, and some unknown artist played over the speakers a perfect day bar scene, and King's usual three o'clock in the afternoon "where are we exactly?. "You've never heard of this place?. You know Zeke?." King said as they both sat down at the bar "nope, should I?." King groaned "You know Cole Mcgrath?" Maxi nodded "that guy who defeated the beast ya what about him?, does he own the bar?." Maxi wondered as he ate a bar nut. "his best friend Zeke". Maxi nodded "cool, so whats the deal why did we come here for condui-oh" Maxi nodded "this is a conduit bar isn't it?." King nodded "what gave it away?. The catchy conduit name of the bar or the fact that there is a sign outside that says conduits welcome?" King said sarcastically "actually it was the cute brunette stirring her drink without touching the spoon". Maxi pointed. King grunted "you know, for a kid who manipulates light you sure aren't that bright". King chuckled at his own joke "so you just suppose that we ask people to help us take down an entire gang?". Maxi asked looking around. "yup, conduits have alot of problems with the reapers, they ruin the reputations of all conduits, even ones who don't even know they are one, I've seen D.U.P. try and scan people who hadn't had powers yet, could you imagine being killed for something you don't even know you are?, or even worse something you weren't?. It's all the reapers fault" Maxi nodded, he didin't want to think of what would happen if the reapers were to win but he wouldn't let that happen. "better start looking". Maxi stood up.

Kain had traveled quite a bit through this city to meet with Scorn. He just followed the two Reapers as they moved through the shadows. The number of pipes he has travelled through is quite large and it almost makes him a little suspicious. Either they’re going to ambush him or stay true to their word. He doesn’t care either way. He’ll find what he wants the hard way or the easy way. A part of him wishes for the hard way but if he wants information, he may have to play nice. A lot of doubt goes into the word ‘may’.

They had finally reached the location as the two lackeys stopped by some back alley door. The place stank of filth and alcohol. It wasn’t a place that people regular roam about which made it the perfect spot for a meeting between two of the most wanted people in the city and possibly the entire Tri-State area. Rats scurried about in quick succession on the litter filled ground. They seemed like they were scared. Like they knew who was arriving. They should be scared. There was no room here for mercy and niceties. It was a meeting between two vicious conduits, morality is non existent here.

The two Reapers opened the door into the building. The inside was just as bad as the outside. It was abandoned, rotten and filled with rust filled equipment. He wasn’t sure if it was just a meeting point or the actually headquarters of the Reapers. He wouldn’t think that this was the headquarters of the Reapers because a smart person would not let a stranger see their HQ without meeting said person. The two Reapers man looked into the shadows and gave a little nod to something. It was like they were communicating with something in the shadows. They then looked back at Kain.
“You stay here, Scorn will be with you soon," Said one of them. They then disappeared from sight into the shadows and were now gone from the room.

Kain was now alone or so he thought he was. All of a sudden from the darkness, two reddish-orange eyes revealed themselves. They were like floating orbs watching Kain’s every move. She didn’t move from the shadows and seemed to be keeping her distance. The last she ever saw Scorn was at Curdun Cay, many years ago. They never talked but with her reputation there, he was very well aware of her.
"Well, well so you are the one who attacked the protesters," She said with great inquiry and almost a bit of creepy happiness in her voice. She slowly walked from the shadows to reveal her true figure. She wore the recognizable hood of the Reapers and had her face painted like a skull. He couldn’t remember what her actually face had looked liked but it did not matter. Her outfit revealed her hips and a small part of cleavage. He realized he had not been with anyone since Ellie but he never really cared considering rage and revenge are killers of the common sex drive.

"But I have to ask why? Attacking such a large group of protesters only brings attention, mostly from the cops. I don't think you wanted their attention. So what do you want?" She got straight to the point which is exactly how Kain did business.
“You’re right. I didn’t want their attention. I wanted yours,” He then walks slowly around the room. He’s never been one to stand still but then again, in this world, who can? “You see, I saw that video of yours with that weasel Syndicate grunt and it made me realize, that you can find people from this fucking organization. As you are well aware, they’re like poison, deadly but invisible. I need to find that poison and specifically someone from it. I need to know how you found one of them.”

He stops in his tracks and faces her. His voice became loud and filled with rage. “I don’t care about fucking morals and I don’t care about other fucking people. All I fucking care about is one thing. Killing. Doctor. Mikhail. Petrov.” Thinking about him enrages him to a whole different degree. He doesn’t care if she recognizes the name or not. All he cares about is what her answer is going to be because one way or another, he will find Petrov and he will pay.

Sebastian scrunched his nose when Scorn pinched him. "Goodbye." He called. He still couldn't find out why he was getting that weird vibe from her. Whatever it was, he didn't care. This was too exciting. Getting to meet new conduits and maybe even do good in the world. It was all Sebastian ever wanted. He spoke to Milo without looking at him as he was grabbing his bag. "Well I guess we should head to this address?" He said secretly grateful he had a reason to get out of school. Sebastian looked over at the unconscious conduit he had defeated earlier. "What an asshole." He thought to himself. He knew it was bad but Sebastian couldn't help but like punishing that conduit for doing something so terrible. A little bit of him in the back of his mind liked hurting people.

Milo thought of Sebastian kind of childish, he saw no point in saying bye to Scorn. He turned towards Sebastian, "We can head to the address after talking to your family, you'd rather us do it than Scorn or her friends.. trust me." Milo started walking away when he heard Sebastian talk about the conduit he took down, "Yeah he was," he said as he shot the man into the air with a rock pillar, "what exactly did you do to him anyway? I like to know what injury I added my insult to."

Scorn

"Doctor Mikhail Petrov? Petrov, why is that familiar?" Scorn thought to herself, unfazed by Kain's anger, pacing for a second and then snapping her clawed fingers ", Oh now I remember, D.U.P. scientist, disappeared when Curdon Cay was liberated. Friends with a lovely woman named Zeynep Sihir, another scientist. Oh how I remember her screams." She added dreamily to herself as she reminisces in the memory of what she did to the female doctor.

"Oh how she liked to experiment on me for some reason, well in the end I turned the tables," Scorn laugh like a maniac ", The look on her face was priceless. I wish I had a camera. She was traumatized enough at the end that she quit, or she might have been shipped to a looney bin." She sighed happily to herself before she returned back to the present.
"So I take it Petrov works with the Syndicate? Guess that isn't shocking for an ex-D.U.P. scientist," she said ", so you want help finding him. All right but what do I get in return for helping. I don't do stuff for free or out of the kindness of my heart." She walked over to him, stopping mere inches in front of him.

"Here's the deal," she said her tone going from nice and sweet to serious and pointed in an instant ",You help the Reapers, you join us. I can't have a lone wolf conduit tearing up my playground, not when I have plans I need to get this place ready for. Any Syndicate members we catch you can question but after your questioning I get them to have my own personal fun with. When you get Petrov you can do whatever you want with him as long as we get some helpful information out of him about the Syndicate before you rip his heart out, cut into pieces, or whatever you are going to do to him. That's the deal, take it or leave it." She waited for an answer keeping her eyes locked with his. She couldn't afford to have any rogue conduits screwing up her plans. She had chased enough of them out of New York to get her foothold secured in the city and she made sure to keep them out. She normally didn't kill them, after all killing a conduit would just be cruel and against her morals but they were beat up enough to get the message to stay the hell out of her way. If only the same could be done with the dumb hero conduits that ran amuck in the city.

Kiera

"You always know how to keep a girl waiting," Kiera joked though saw how exhausted he was ",You should probably find something to recharge yourself when we get to the bar, I don't want to be the one dragging your ass back to wherever you leave. Come on, and try to keep up."
With those final words, Keira had thrown her glass board up and jumped onto and raced through the air, to the bar that Zeke owned. The bar was on a side of New York that a good chunk of the city's conduits lived. The bar wasn't so much all that special on the outside besides the neon lights that made it stand out with the name of the bar which was called The Amp. An odd name but for Zeke it was a personal thing from what Kiera understood, something dealing with a weapon he made for Cole after a trust falling out or something, Zeke told stories of Cole and his adventures from Empire City to New Marais but when it came down to the personal stuff he kept those under wrap which was understandable.
She wondered what Zeke had that was so important as she and Eli went on their way. It had to be something big no doubt about it, but what could that be? Something on the Syndicate? Something on the Reapers? She then wondered if Scorn would be there though more then likely she wouldn't. Before Scorn had come out with being a part of the reformed Reapers, she could be found at The Amp almost every night of the week. It was probably the only time Kiera had seen her not try to kill someone, just always enjoying a drink on her own, rarely talking to anyone. It was an odd site to see, perhaps it had all just been a ruse, a means for her to scope out potential conduits before coming out as the Reaper leader. When Scorn had shown her true self, Zeke had banned her from the bar which enraged Scorn but she didn't harm Zeke from what Kiera knew. Scorn merely took the bar stool she normally used at the bar as hers and ever since, never returned.

"There's a power substation on the way, won't take long for me to charge there." He said with a yawn. Just as he finished his yawn he through his pole down and jumped up as soon as it landed. Toe nor heel touched the ground he was lifted into the air. Leaning forward he began to move. Picking up speed he soon caught up to Keira. "Follow me, I got a place to recharge just a few blocks down. Keep up if you can glass girl. I'd hate for you to chip." Eli shouted over the roar of the unconfined wind as he increased his speed now traveling at much greater speed.

His curiosity about just how good Kiera was on that glass board. On top of going faster Eli also started taking the alleyways and narrow side streets as opposed to the wide open roads. The path he put them on was going to a base he had set aside. This was close to a power source of his but it wasn't an important one. At the base he could easily change close, or at least grab a clean shirt.

If this chick was gonna hang he was gonna have to prove herself. This wasn't about whose better or man vs woman, even about skill. No this was about being a gamer, about having the intestinal fortitude to step up. Whatever Zeke had up his sleeve, wasn't good or easy but what would life be without some insanity.

Kain listened intently at what Scorn had too say about what Kain wanted from her. She was mere inches from him and it gave him a closer look at her face, her true face. Without the face-paint, it seemed almost cute but in a creepy way. His face gave a surprised look at when she mentioned that she was the one who tortured Dr Zeynep Sihir. He had always wondered what had happened to that woman. He remembers the day he visited her like it was yesterday. She was crawled up into a corner in her room in the asylum like a baby foetus. She was trapped in a straight jacket and she looked like she was possessed almost. This possession was one of fear and terror. He was standing right in front of the doctor and was about to kill her but alas, he felt like he didn’t need too. Whoever did torture her managed to kill her but without the actual killing. He had always admired the person who had managed to achieve this impressive trophy and now this person is finally in front of him. Kain has now new respect for the sickly skilled conduit.

Scorn’s voice then had a mass change of tone. It descended from creepy and happy to dark and serious. Looks like business has finally gotten down. She continued to explain that Kain had to join the Reapers and help them with their cause. In return he gets to interrogate any Syndicate grunt that the Reapers pick up from the street. Although, the catch is he keeps them alive so that Scorn can have her fun with them. He didn’t mind keeping them alive for Scorn to have her fun. It would give him a show to watch. A female conduit torturing a human being, that’s pretty hot. She concludes with mentioning that if they find Petrov then he’s his to do as he pleases. A pretty obvious part of the deal but nevertheless the most important part.

Kain looked at Scorn as he decided on the deal. He agrees with most of it apart from one small part of it: he will not join the Reapers. Kain is not some whiny ass bitch to own. Kain bows to no one; if he works with Scorn then he’s an equal, not a lackey. He then notices her lips; they were pure red with death and destruction in an oddly sexy way. He would never consider another relationship since Ellie; however a purely sexual was a very different one. He wonders if Scorn is turned on by death and torture as much as him. He then gives a bit of a chuckle and turns his back. He walks back a couple of metres, keeping his back to her.
“One change needs to be made to that offer: I will help you with whatever you need help with but I will not join the Reapers. I am not some lackey to be fucking owned, I am my own fucking person and no one else’s!” He then turns back towards Scorn, facing her again. “If we work together, it is as equals… allies even. I will not be a Reaper or any soldier in your personal army of mindless fucking lackeys. I will simply be a…friend,” he puts on a great emphasis for the word ‘friend’. The emphasis represents minor doubt. He’s not sure if ‘friends’ is the right word for it. It sounds so light and casual, it almost makes him sick.

“It’s a small change but you gain a powerful ally,” He looks at her, it sounds fair enough but he’s not sure if she’ll see it that way. He likes to remain independent but he will help Scorn with her desires in any way as long as he gets Petrov. After he has finally dealt with Petrov, he could continue helping Scorn. All humans need to pay and Scorn could be the key to that possible gate. He awaits her reply to his negotiated offer.

Scorn

Scorn got her answer though she was not particularly pleased about it. She needed powerful conduits and right before her stood one that could definitely be used for the Reaper's benefits but he didn't want to join. Scorn never made compromise on her deals, most learned fast it was Scorn's way or the highway which was a particularly fun way to go down with Scorn. Yet she felt that perhaps one time it wouldn't be bad, just this once she could do a little compromise, who knows maybe she could still turn him to her ways and bring him into the gang still. Like Sebastian, it would take coaxing perhaps but the end result for Scorn could be quite amazing, plus maybe she could get some other benefits out of him along the way, after all it had been awhile since she had found some attraction to another person. Most people were too weak for her tastes and coward when they saw her but Kain kept his grown, even was able to show anger in front of her, more then anyone else had in her crew of so called lackeys. A person as bloodthirsty as her and brave enough to argue with her? Very interesting and got her to feel at least somewhat attracted to him, even if it was just for sexual pleasures and desires. Perhaps things could work out with a little compromise, maybe even more so then she had originally planned when offering her deal.

She pondered for a few minutes before a venomous, evil, creepy smile crossed her face."All right," She said her tone relaxing from the business tone back to the one she had started with",Fine you don't have to join the Reapers. We shall be partners so to speak then. I'm glad we could work stuff out..... Forgive me but I never caught your name. It seem so unfair after all you get to know mine so easily when I don't get to know yours. After all if we are going to be partners or 'friends' as you called it, we should at least know each others names." The term friends was light for her taste, she wanted a bit more out of this new relationship or bond, but for now she would go along with just being friends and hope that maybe it could be a bit more for her desires.

Kiera

Kiera had to abruptly turn around to catch up with Eli. Where the hell he was going, she wasn't sure, just that perhaps she would have question him on if he was actually a hero or not because the path he took felt like he was trying to kill her with all the stuff she had to dodge. None the less though she managed, not being able to turn down a challenge when it was given to her and show him that she could keep up. Just because her powers were based on glass, didn't mean that she would break or be easy to take on. Glass wasn't as fragile as some would think and could be quite strong under the right conditions. That was one thing she hated about her powers, a great deal of other conduits with other powers thought she was weak, not as strong just because it was glass, surely glass couldn't do that much damage? Safe to say she had also shown off just how damaging glass powers could be and it made them shut their traps as quickly as they had open them.

Zeke

Zeke was tending to his bar, something he had started once the D.U.P. had been disbanded and weren't a problem. Few knew that the D.U.P. didn't just go after conduits but also those that supported them and he had been numero uno on the human list. New Marais had been shut down to travel quite fast once the D.U.P. had been formed, since the city had hailed Cole a saint of New Marais, they felt it necessary to contain anyone with it. By then though Zeke had been gone. Traveling and doing his own things. Of course he fought the D.U.P. through tactics as sabotage, hacking, and even disguise himself up as one at one point.
When it had all ended though he decided to settle down a bit and figured why not start a bar to remember the good times he and Cole had, just the two of them sitting in an apartment or on a rooftop, watching an T.V., drinking, and laughing. Plus being a conduit bar meant he got to meant a bunch more conduits which was always a treat for him, seeing how diverse conduits were and even being able to guide them and share tales of his adventures with Cole Macgrath.
Of course though not all conduits were good and he had seen some of them. He had had high hopes of changing Chloe, aka Scorn, being back to good but after the events in Time Square he knew that wasn't possible and kicked her out, of course she had stolen the bar stool she sat in always. He knew Scorn's true name only because she had gotten drunk enough to say it once, she also nearly took down the bar by accident at that time. One issue with conduits getting drunk is that the drunker they are the less control of their powers they had. He had spent a fortune fixing the place up after a conduit mistakenly blew a hole through something, nearly as much as he paid buying it. In the end though he loved his bar.
He looked at the time, waiting on a few stragglers to get to the bar before telling the news. He now was fighting against a new threat, the Syndicate and he had gotten some intel on them that he would share with the bar. Of course he wanted to do it when it was more full so that if anyone wanted to do something about the intel he gave them, they could at least have a team.
