She stumbled back as Harper collided into her. She grabbed his arms to keep him from toppling over and to keep her from falling as well. "Watch where you're going would you?" Ace's hands moved to Harper's shoulders and she looked over him when he stammered. "Blood? Where- oh." She squinted a few times as he ran the light over the words. It was hard to read them in the dark. "The...rabb..its...are..n..ot...wha..t th-ey...seem...? The rabbits are not what they seem?" Ace let go of Harper and moved closer to the shelf. It did kind of look like blood, but was it really? "I couldn't tell you what happened. But maybe someone knows something about queeny that we don't. Oh, I wonder if she's a witch!" "Well~" She took a closer look at the paint cans. Each one was opened so she peeked into the. Unfortunately, brown, black, and white were the only colors she saw. "Maybe the red paint is miss-" The basement suddenly shook and Ace fell along with Harper. Seeing the new set of steps, Ace stuck her tongue at Harper playfully. "Yeah, be careful you say." She mocked before standing and helping him up. She grinned at the mention of being in a horror movie. "Well, if that's the case, we can't be the idiots who fall on our butts all the time!" She paused, taking a step forward. "But we will be the crazy psychos that go into the more dangerous parts of the place." She took another step forward into the dark. "We're just going to be the smart ones who don't die." Ace took a few more steps down the stairs, looking around in the dim light. For some reason, their glow jars weren't working as well in this darkness. They weren't as bright as before. Hopefully the flashlight would fix that. "You're still here right Harper?" She spoke softly as she moved along in the dark. When she kicked something, Ace froze and stepped backwards quickly. There was a clinking sound, and Ace lowered the jar to see a saw. . . Stained with red- hopefully that was paint. Ace inched forward seeing more various tools. Some of them clean and others not so much. "You were right about horror movie Harper... And I think we found someone who really, really didn't like those bunnies." She looked down to see a can and noticed the red. "Um Harper don't freak but, I found that...paint from upstairs. Well, don't freak out at all really. It's too dark to panic. You might run into something." Even Ace was a little cautious at this point. It looked like a massacre of bunnies mixed with stuffing in the secret sub-basement- even though she could only see glimpses and bits of it. "This is- something shiny." Something silver caught her attention and she moved toward it. It was a clip holding random pieces of paper. It didn't interest Ace in the slightest- what did was the old carrot rifle that was behind it. "Oh look-" When she reached for it a loose newspaper clipping fell off the silver clip. Ace caught it and gave it a look. "Bring that flashlight over." Though as she said it, Ace moved closer to Harper to put the paper under the light. "Whoa. Queeny has a bad side. Drownings are a little crazy don't you think?" Ace looked up at Harper wondering what he thought of it. But before she could ask, the sound of the door sliding closed above them made her sigh. "Well...isn't that dandy. There's either another way to open it- or there's another door out." Ace was thinking out loud and searching around. To keep things 'calm', she continued to talk and keep focused. "Hey Harper, what do you think? About the drownings?" She kept Harper close, but still wandered around to see if she could find a way out. These pays off scary movies, normally they quotidian end up getting separated and possibly attacked, so they had be careful which meant reckless Ace had to be a little more serious but reckless Ace.
