Honestly, I think the biggest issue contributing to the sluggishness is the disparate nature of the RP in its current form. Obviously I haven't been here long, but it seems to me like we'd be better off if everyone were connected to a single, unifying story. Rather than having us spread out across the world, we could be required to be connected to one or more of two or three intertwined storylines. I think the result would be a much more cohesive story that can move itself places. I realize this is kind of an abstract explanation. What I mean is that, as an example for an Aegon's Conquest era RP, we'd have one storyline in the Stormlands with a number of players involved, one in the Riverlands or Dorne or wherever, and then the guiding storyline of Aegon, Visenya, and Rhaenys conquering Westeros. Our characters could interact with each other more often and in a very meaningful way, and more of us could contribute to furthering a specific part of the story (i.e. will Dorne side for or against Aegon). I think it'd allow us to create a much more focused narrative than what we've got now. Just a thought, though.
