"Everyone ready to look at some super-interesting rocks?"
With this remark, Dave hopped back up to his feet, looking around at his group, yawning a little. He quickly realized nobody looked even remotely happy or joyful or even amused, besides Saxon. He stretched a little bit, zoning out once again. He didn't like to pay attention much, just acted on what was before him. Whitney's reproachful voice cut through the air.

"Before we begin, I would like to say that I think we all don't really want to put up with each other, so I think we should all agree to not speak to each other unless it's important or a way of getting away from this boring Hell were about to enter, agreed?" 
Dave raised an eyebrow at this. Usually Whitney, from his experience, was not the most sociable of people, but he didn't know he was capable of a remark of that caliber. Before he could interject, Terry spoke up.

"No one seemed to have a problem with anyone up until you spoke," he said. "We're all irritated but we can make the decision whether or not we'd like to speak for ourselves. No one died and made you king. " Dave just shrugged at this and looked around again, spying Saxon up to his usual antics, even laughing a little when he saw what he was doing to Whitney. He felt bad for the poor kid, but thought he really needed to loosen up a little. Nobody wanted to have a guy like that around. Dave sighed, his normally pleasant mood being darkened by the frowns on the faces around him. He brushed the hair out of his face again and pulled up his orange jacket.

"Hey, hey, guys. Let's not be disagreeing with each other, we're gonna be stuck with each other for the next few hours so we might as well make the most of them," he said, a concerned look on his face. Suddenly, an idea popped into his head, and his face brightened a little. "I know this might sound super childish and stuff, but why don't we break away from the main group and go looking around this rock research place!" he explained, grinning childishly. "You never know, we could totally find some cool stuff! Whaddaya say, guys?"
