I've seen cats and dogs together like they where brother and sister lol.

Another thing, how would he get the mutation of a Cat when the Mak'ari DNA doesn't resemble any code that resides in CAT DNA.
So I've came to the conclusion that it isn't really themed towards this RP.. and maybe you should rethink the character.
