I intended for the sub-thing (like how earth has wood and air has sound) to be more or less advanced techniques. But water is unique in that it is an actual compound, unlike earth and air, which are general terms. So, I wouldn't mind if you could turn water into ice and back, though it should be harder than just plain water at first. :3 It also fits with your character perfectly.
