This will be my first RWBY roleplay as well, so I'm definitely looking forward to seeing everyones character. But I think before I decide on teams I'm gonna go ahead and wait till everyones CS is up! ^^

Semblance: Conduit – Quin's semblance allows her to control the transfer of energy from all manner of living things so long as she remains in contact with them. She can drain the strength from living things, making them feel increasingly tire and worn the longer the drain is held. If held long enough the drain is capable of stopping vital functions of a target all together, but going that far takes no shorter than five minuets of uninterrupted contact in which the target does not resist. In a live combat scenario it is a certainty it would take even longer. Naturally the receiver of the energy shows an opposite effect, having their strength replenished. It is worth noting however that each individual tends to have a different amount of tolerance for the energy recieval and may have unpleasant side effects themselves such as headaches or involuntary spasms.
Weapon: Fox Tails & Paw Pads, a set of gauntlets and boots used by Quin.
Fox Tails - The gauntlets are designed to launch a flexible metal whip which is weighted at the end. The weight itself is a mechanism designed to open and act as a grappling hook. The whip is held in the section set on the wrist and forearm. The second feature of the Fox Tails is a set of five metal wires for each hands which can be attached by the fingers and hook into objects or targets, designed to improve her grip and snare targets.
Paw Pads – Quin's boots are armed with a dust propulsion mechanism allowing her to leap great hights and deliver powerful kicks. The boots can also deploy climbing spikes from the toe, heel and soles which when combined with the Fox Tails allows her to move easily over steep and vertical surfaces.
Dust: Quin's only use of dust is in the Paw Pads
Other Equipment: Quin often carries a brush and a comb on her. And snacks, always snacks.
Skills & Abilities: Being both a fox faunus and an acrobat Quin is highly quick and agile, knowing all sorts of tricks to move around an opponent. Physically she is not especially strong or durable but she is capable of delivering rapid blows and out maneuvering man foes. She also has excellent stamina. Despite her small stature she is a very aggressive fighter who will stay in an opponents face as best as she can. Her hearing and smell are also very strong which prove to be her best asset for battlefield awareness. But her physical senses, good as they are can only go so far. Because of her aggressive nature she can suffer from tunnel vision in combat, focusing on a single target and opening herself to being blindsided. Her weapons generally come into play to aid her utility and mobility, using her whips and wires to pull enemies in close and keep them there while using her boots to close the gap.

Personality: Quin is a very playful, friendly and excitable girl so long as those around her at the very least decent. She is a fairly simple minded person with little awareness of personal boundaries between people and lacking any of the cunning and tact commonly associated with foxes. She can in general tend to be quite competitive with others and very intense with it at that even if she merely views such things as a friendly endeavor. Furthermore, Quin is one who will take everything with laughter. Embarrassment, anger, ridicule, her first instinct is always to laugh it off. Much of this playful energy will carry over to her demeanor in battle, but oblivious as she can be she is not completely blind to the flow of battle and will recognize a dangerous or dire situation. In these situations she shows a very strong survival instinct and can become down right vicious.
History: Quin was born and raised within a traveling circus which was largely populated by faunus and run by a group of humans. Growing up the girl had an odd concept of family compared to many accounts. She never knew who her parents were or if any of the members of the circus troupe were even related to her by blood. There were some other canine faunus like her but she never knew if they actually had any relation, and she imagined they knew about as little as her. Truth be told she didn't even know if she was even actually born with the circus or simply ended up there before she was old enough to remember anything else.
Instead those within the circus were her family, be they bird or bear it didn’t matter, they were all in it together one way or another. Even the humans that ran and marketed their shows were a part of it despite their sometimes harsh expectations. Naturally Quin grew up here to be groomed as one of the performers in their shows. With her natural nimble agility she would be an acrobat, leaping and flying through the air above the ring all to please the crowds. It was difficult and physically taxing but all in all the girl could not say she disliked it. She had always been energetic since she was young and she showed a talent for such things. If it could help the family she knew and please the onlookers she was more than happy to perform.
However despite her optimistic outlook on things everything was not all sunshine and rainbows. While being run by humans let the circus maintain some degree of success, the performers were still largely various types of faunus which lead to the all too characteristic discrimination against them. Crowds could become unruly with mocking comments shouted throughout the night and at worst could become violent. As she grew it was easy to see why the troupe was a traveling circus, it was safer moving from place to place where you would not be recognized. Still, this posed another problem. There was only so many cities and towns one could venture to, and traveling in itself was a difficult task when the threat of the grimm always loomed.
Eventually this fact would be the downfall of the troupe. They lacked the funds to move their show across seas and with their name becoming more well known it became more and more difficult to draw a crowd for the shows. And so their funds would be divided up between the members and they would be forced to part ways. Quin knowing nothing else would find herself taking a suggestion from one of the members to become a huntress. Several of the more skilled members of the group were planning to do such a thing and Quin herself certainly had a fair amount of talent, so she would follow this small group into the schools for training.
Much like her circus performances Quin took a liking to the training. During this time she began to realize she would simply enjoy most things which gave her an outlet for her energy. Though she would continue to be forced to deal with the discrimination against faunus that plagued the world she would still move forward with her training with determination, this path leading to her enrollment in Beacon Academy.
Other: Quin is a self defined carnivore and dislikes eating anything that isn’t meat.
