Name of Group: Merrick's Rangers Type:Private Military Contractors Assets:Small Base in the Bahamas used for training,Recruitment, and motor pool Personnel:1000 (400 Operators the other 600 are misc personnel cooks, mechanics, gunsmiths,ETC) History:Merrick's Rangers were a small branch of a much larger corporation during the war at that time they were known as the I&R (Intelligence and Retrieval unit) they excelled at gathering intelligence and recon often times going deep behind enemy lines and causing chaos as well as getting intelligence on their contractors enemies they also excelled at getting prisoners of war out. During the war the company was in high demand especially the I&R branch of it if some high ranking officer got captured you better believe the I&R were there so that their contractors wouldn't waste special forces personnel if some intelligence needed gathering or you needed something deep behind enemy lines taken out their contractor would use I&R were sent in as expendables so precious special operations personnel would not be needed towards the end of the war the detachment started getting called Paulson's rangers after the commanding officer of the unit and because their job was like the rangers of old. A year before the war "Ended" they were on VIP rescue a commanding officer that had been captured and was being interrogated I&R was called in to kill him if he had leaked any intel or to save him if he hasn't they dropped in under the cover of night and infiltrated the prison until a rookie tipped off the enemy by accident soon a firefight commenced and when the dust settled Paulson had been mortally wounded and it didn't look like he was going to make it so he passed command off to his second-in-command Merrick, they completed the mission and got the officer home and from that night on they became known as Merrick's Rangers. After the war after all hell had broken loose Merrick's rangers found themselves out of a job nobody had a use for private contractors anymore and the company went bankrupt but refusing to let go Merrick gathered up whats left of his unit dusted off his old BDU and went to work he hired up as much as he could with the money he had made during the war anyone who was a skilled tradesmen like plumbers, mechanics, gunsmiths, and the like were hired up as well and found them a small niche of land that they can live off of his old training base in the Bahama's and there they remain till this day offering their services up to the highest bidder. Technology: Merrick's Rangers use whatever tech they can get their hands on and give it a modern spin an old hummer might become a Fast attack vehicle an old helicopter might be fitted with more passenger space or to become a mobile bunker an old battle tank might become an anti-air asset as well. Leadership: Gelen Merrick is a very grim man but also charismatic able to rally his men even when things look bad he values every soldier in his outfit even more so than the money that seems to drive his personnel he joined I&R after being a US marine in force recon his skill set made him valuable in gathering intelligence and naval operations which he still uses today when talking with a prospective client he analyzes them and has a way of making them a little uncomfortable but his second in command normally evens that out with her bubbly personality. Emily Brewer:Is a very loving person unlike her commanding officer she loves to make people laugh and make jokes she often goes out of her way to know everyone personally like Gelen she is one of the few members of Paulson's rangers that's still kicking after the war her expertise was as a marine scout sniper and she assisted in snatch and grab operations with the old I&R team and that made her invaluable to Merrick's rangers. On the battlefield however Emily is a cold calculating machine seeing her targets as nothing and bringing a cold approach to things this brings other soldiers on base to question her sanity.
