Merrick's Rangers are what we used to call in Afgan shadow operators they got the job done quietly and efficently with what they had on hand and often operated deep behind enemy lines they know how to hold their own because when you're 100+ miles behind enemy lines evac isn't exactly getting to you if you mess up so you have to be a well trained operator there and yes while their tasks are small they are very much needed in war and it's what they excel as for your group i don't think any operator would want to join or hate you they know that if someone needs them then they will go they don't care about competition just results.
