Oliver stared at the teacher, slack jawed. At their age, it was hard enough to take care of a kid with someone you really knew (not counting all of the single parents out there). But with someone you probably didn't even know? This would extremely bogus. He wanted to take the time to raise his hand and ask, What can I do so I won't be a part of this?, but he knew that would just be a waste of breath. He was here and had no choice in the matter anymore. He gave an exasperated sigh. He hoped at least the kid he got paired up with would be easy to take care of and hoped that his partner would at least be fine to work with. The plus side was, at least he could just hand the kid off to them when he had to go to football practice. ~ Mai bounced up and down on her heels as she waited in the hallway. She was excited beyond belief, even if she didn't know what for. Whatever it was, she was sure it would be an adventure. And boy did Mai like adventures. She looked over at the other two girls and two boys from her class that had come to. She kind of wondered why no one else could come but she shrugged. A field trip?
