Sakura eyed her sister for a while. She sighed heavily. She could feel a part of Kayo wanting Sakura to tell her the cold hard truth. That their parents were probably watching us, their eyes filled with tears, weeping and praying for their girls to return to them. Sakura let herself imagine home for a moment. Her average size and brick house. Their dad kept a vegetable garden in the back yard and had planted purple Larkspur flowers in the front of the house. She used to hate her dad forcing her to water the plants when he wasn't home. Yet, here and now, she yearned for her father to call her again and tell her to tend to the garden. She was completely homesick, but she couldn't let that stop her from watching over Kayo. She had to protect her from this sick and cruel world. She had no choice. She couldn't let her worry about home. Kayo needed to focus here. “They’re cheering us on, Kayo. They want us to beat this game. Don’t worry, okay? You’ll see them soon. I promise.” Sakura tried not to cry as she spoke. She refused to let her sister see her cry.
