Ah. Well that sucks; details like that are generally the best ways to draw me in.Also, if that's the case, you should probably rewrite your OP as it sounds way more sandboxy than what your last post implies it will actually be-and sandboxes tend to have exploration and tiny details like those that you just said aren't a major focus as one of if not major focus/foci.
It is fairly sandboxy, but as with any good RP, it has set events that need to happen so the story can progress onward. I have no intention of changing my OP. What I meant by "plans" was that if somebody is just waaaaay out in la-la land doing something completely unrelated to RPing in a fantasy setting where a character would have real motivation and purpose for why they came to Ialdia, that character isn't going to work very well. A character like that probably wouldn't be affected by those events, and therefore they'd reside outside the relevant events of the story. That is the kind of thing I am trying to avoid. As I mentioned, I would have no problems broaching on the subject if it comes up in the RP, but going off on a tangent or getting in an elongated IC argument about sexism is a waste of time that could be used to move story elements forward, explore the continent, or build character connections (which an argument could do, but only to a certain extent). It's up to me as the GM to set boundaries as far as this stuff goes, so that people don't just get off the boat and go flailing in every direction, making it extremely difficult to get you all together or at least in a general area so that an event can happen.
