Hs ladyfriend I do believe. I don't think she made much of a racket in the intcheck so it may have been easy to miss the post. Anyway, i'm looking to write up a post tonight and tomorrow. I just want to do a few last checks to make sure i'm doing it all right in terms of mechanics. 1: I just make an army card within my troop capacity to represent an army that I will be using, correct? 2: How do we represent tech tree research? 3: Should I be worrying about population growth in the first turn?
Yeah, the first season or two will be our practice runs. I've kept the NPC moves to a minimum so that you all have a chance to get to grips with things. By season three I'll consider the game in full operation, and the general "story" will begin. Just remember, the mechanics, despite going on forever on the OOC, are actually very simple and all you really need to be concerned about is replenishing your troops, human contentment levels and where to strike. Anyway, to answer your questions. 1) That is correct. Post them at the top of your IC. I ask you to do this because it will allow me to quickly find them. You can form as many forces as you want, as long as their combined troop count does not exceed your cap. This is so that you can have forces in multiple regions. 2) Representing tech tree should be an easy feat for the IC posts. Increased attack damage could be put down to your soldiers/peoples becoming better accustomed to Earth's gravity, for example. Population influxes could be put down to more portals opening from Gorika. That planet hasn't fallen yet, but it is in the process of breaking apart. A second option is that they may have been "lost" in time and space, having been carried by an interrupted portal. (this will be speculated on by the High Elves). I don't think any of the techs are significant enough to tear a hole in the realism of things. I will be PMing you all a seperate PM soon that will be dedicated to your technology. Through those you will be able to tell me what you want to research, and I will inform you when research is completed. 3) No. You shouldn't need to worry about any of it full stop. I will look after all that information; all you will need to do is reference it from time to time. Every country you take, I will update the stats and figures, this also applies to research and other events. The mechanics are for me alone to manage, you guys merely need to play the IC as you normally would. Think of it in another light. Normally NRPs that have mechanics rely on the players themselves to do the number crunching. This is a time consuming task, and when you also need to post a fully fledged novelistic style IC to accompany it, you're using up a lot of your evening. In this RP, I don't have a nation, because I operate the NPCs, and I also work out your mechanics for you. At the moment your nation stats are down at the bottom of the OOC, however even I myself have realised what a chore it is to keep scrolling down to them, so I will look at alternative places to put them where they can be more accessible. --------------------------------------------- If there are more questions, or things that need clarifying, then please do not hesitate to ask. EDIT: Having looked at your post, I'll allow you to keep your army cards for each segment as you have already done. I only wanted them at the top because people IC in a wide range for NRPs, and I didn't want to have to sift through a wall of text to find what I needed. However, posts that are orderly and segregated like yours are great, and so you can go ahead and place army cards next to where they are relevant. .
